    I couldn't for the life of me get mine off. Then I realised there's one bolt near the drivers side that holds the cabin air filter thing to it. Once I'd got that off it came off easily. Very helpful video.

    Great vid thanks, will be doing this today. bought a vivaro a few weeks ago, No 2 injector wasnt sealed, chuffing through, they had stripped the thread out of the clamp, re tapped to m10 fine and made a bolt on a lathe, they had cut the thread on that wonky, i re tapped the thread to m12, and made a stainless insert to take it back to m8, i then found they had cracked a hole in the top of the cam cover while trying to remove the injector and plugged it with chemical metal, luckily i ally weld so cleaned it up, welded it up with the engine in situ, its all back together now and seems fine so far!

      If the dpf has blocked in such a short time it might be worth getting your glowplugs checked, as if they aren't working correctly your engine won't go through a self clean. It's a thing that's regularly missed.

    So I understand water gets onto the injectors, but the vans running perfectly fine, are you saying when/if the injectors fail for whatever reason a mechanic will struggle to remove the old injectors to replace?
    Would you recommend changing the injectors post this mod? And are you still in business for injector replacements?

    Hey. Thanks for this video. This was so helpful!
    With regards to those two drainpipes you said you didn't put back on that drain from the scuttle down in to the front wings, are there any downsides to that? Doesn't increase the chances of corrosion? I'm asking because I've gone to put mine back on but they're rock solid so they actually don't channel the water, they just leak! Thank you 😊

    • @southwalesinjectorremovals8932
      @southwalesinjectorremovals8932  Před rokem

      Sorry about the delay. No there's no downside to leaving them off at all. The water channels away from all the essential parts.

    • @southwalesinjectorremovals8932
      @southwalesinjectorremovals8932  Před měsícem

      No that won't work. Put grease when outting in new injectors, but if the injectors are already in, there's nothing I've found that will help to release them.

My top plastic scuttle is slightly different to with some holes in showing threads that the second plastic cover seems to sit in with push on covers. Engine can start without the MAF connected. So, logic tells the MAF shouldn't be the main responsible for those symptoms! ;-)
      Although your description would lead me straight into earth cables. On battery and specially the earth strap on the gearbox...In fact ANY earth cable being clean and in good condition is a good way to keep things going well! ;-)

    • @xxwookey
      @xxwookey Před 11 měsíci

      Silicone is a much more reliable and long-term sealant in compression than it is just stuck to a surface, so taking it off so that you can squash the seal will be much more reliable in the long term. An external bead will work for a while - maybe even quite a long time if the surface it applied to was nice and clean. These days I only ever use silicone in compression or because I need colour matching. For almost any other case modified silane sealants are better now.
