    I bought this a couple of years ago so i can have a whole band at my disposal if i ever had friends come. Also just wanted to practice drums cuz im not good at it at all except for on my chest with a few beats haha. You make it look so easy. I just glanced over and wanted to see if i could find anyone using it to inspire me to maybe get back into it. I needs some lessons for sure, but thank you for this man.

    Curious how much control do you get over the sound? Can you change the reverb, wet/dry, etc? Can you use it to control other MIDI gear?

    • @pedrohenriqueboscofi
      @pedrohenriqueboscofi Před 2 lety +1

      It's midi over usb, so you can control computer software over midi but there is no actual midi cable out to plug into another midi in

    • @WillisZzz
      @WillisZzz Před 2 lety +1

      @@pedrohenriqueboscofi That's ok, I have an iConnectivity USB interface that can be a USB host if I want to control 5-PIN midi gear.
      I ended up buying one for the kids (and me of course); MIDI is the best part, as far as I'm concerned! That way I can use it to trigger sounds from a sampler, where I can really change the sound.
      Unfortunately with the Alesis onboard sounds, you can't change the playback pitch. I don't understand why they didn't add pitch control; it's not hard or expensive to implement, and it's super fun to downsample a poor resolution sound file into a punchier, grittier, nastier drum sound.
      Luckily, the midi works fine for my purposes, and I've even made a few on-board kits that aren't bad, although I always just want to turn the pitch down on all the built-in kick drum sounds. The kicks are beyond vanilla... they're more like neopolitan icecream, awkward, pokey, and unsatisfying.
      That said, it's a toy; I knew that when I bought it. As a toy it's a lot of fun, and worth the deal price.

      you may need to bring it to a technician or repair shop to see if the rubber contact or the piezo is still ok. a replacement for that part may be needed.
