If you're looking for a budget alternative to conjurer's closet, erratic portal falls within your budget range. Sure you have to pay mana and recast the creature but it can also be a hugely tricky card in bouncing an opponent's creature if they're foolsih enough to tap out!
You should check out Skull Collector.
Looking forward to the upgrades on this. My kids just got into commander so this set was a great way to get 5 decks for everyone to have one to build.
Started playing paper on spelltable remotely with my friend from out of state. He’s taught me a lot and my first deck i bought was the Chaos Precon. This is the first time I’m hearing about the goad mechanic and I’m really excited to add some of these upgrades to the deck! Thanks so much love your guys’ videos!

My only issue with blasphemous act is it takes out all your creatures too, which for this build can make you useless when it's your turn again. I've used it once and it backfired on me lol
A budget swap for Conjurers Closet is Skull Collector. It does serious work in my Kardur deck

This is actually an amazing deck, especially the wipe cards
I know it's hard to find slots, but Hunted Dragon, Hunted Horror, and Varchild, Betrayer of Kjeldor have been fun in my Kardur build.
As someone who is new to magic and owns this deck, I would love to know what cards to remove in order to add the recommended upgrades!

I happen to play Kardur for some time now. In my opinion there are two keys to the deck: First one is retriggering his ability every turn: Conjurer's Closet, Sword of HaH, Helm of the Host, Blade of Selves, Erratic Portal, Blood Clock, Umbilicus, Delina, Kiki-Jiki, Flamerush Rider, Felhide Spiritbinder, Jaxis, Heat Shimmer, Twinflame, Malakir Rebirth, Feign Death, etc. Second one is winning the 1vs.1 endgame: Plague Wind, In Garruk's Wake, Liliana's Contract, Vorpal Sword, etc. I find Tibalt's Trickery and Warping Wail extremely helpful here. I also play tons of draw and most available noncreature removal.
Edit: Keep in mind to protect Kardur against being elked, darksteel mutated or imprisoned in some moon. Play some instant sac effects and recast him.
Disrupt Decorum is actually quite bad here. For two mana you get the same effect with Twinflame. Sorry guys. Still like your content.
But Kiki-Jiki says "nonlegendary" creature...
@@vaderka1833 Yes, you're absolutely right. Now I remember why I didn't include him in my deck. 🤣
I wish there was more info on playing Commander as 1v1, as most these decks do some pretty expensive things for just a 1v1, like the first card you show, Mana Geyser costs 5 mana, and in a 1v1, it's unlikely I'll really be getting that 5 back, and if so, may only gain 1 or 2 extra mana. In a 4 player game, sure, really good, but I don't have 3 friends, I only know 1 other person who would play, and so I wish there was a Commander format or deck list suggestion for a 1v1 gameplay style. Or at least a good Side Deck of cards to switch out for 1v1 equivalents to these 4 player suggestions

So you recommend cards to put in your deck but what cards do you take out to replace them with?
Very good question. I’d love to know as well. This precon deck has some pretty solid swap candidates, but swapping the wrong one can cost us a lot as well.
What I did was I took out about 10 cards, replaced with what I thought was more suitable.
Out.
1x vampire nighthawk
1x rakshasa debaser
1x wildfire devils
1x guttersnipe
1x breath of malfegor
1x reign of the pit
1x scythe spector
1x indulgent tormentor
1x ob nixilis, reignited
1x bloodgift demon
In.
1x conjurer’s closet
1x swiftfoot boots (or just keep lightning greaves, basically same thing up to you)
1x garna the blood flame
1x garna, bloodfist of keld
1x torbran, thrane of red fell
1x jaya, venerated firemage
1x tor, wauki the younger
1x harvester of souls
1x ob nixilis, the adversary
1x Judith, the scourge diva.
I wanted something that was going to coincide with the commander more, it’s pretty decent. Give that a try

Sorry for the silly question but when using Mana Geyser does that mana permanently stay in your pool of mana?
