Thank-you so much for including a relatively new player. As a brand new player myself, sitting down at a table can be pretty intimidating. Hopefully any tables I join will be as welcoming and supportive 😃. Sandie did really well, I thought, and I appreciate her taking one for team newbie!!

That seems to be what always happens to me anytime i play my dragon deck. Get a couple big turns in and become the biggest threat then everyone targets you lol

I was totally voting for Tom!!! That was a fun game to watch!!! I bought the precon Tom had because I’m obsessed with dragons and I’m turning it into an ur dragon deck but using most of the precon cards while I change the deck around and besides Millicent, restless revenant precon that it one of my most favorite precons ever!!! And it’s dragons which can be so difficult to build!!! This was the first episode I watched and it make me like and subscribe!!! I look forward to binging more and look forward to new content!!!
Wasn't it such a crazy game! Tom is actually converting that pre con as well, his into a Miirym deck, so it's definitely a good thing to pick up if you love dragons

My wife is trying out mtg for the first time and I have the dragonic deck on the way in the mail. Just found your channel and my wife enjoyed seeing sammy play for the first time.

I would also recommend jump start but that can be hit and miss if you're unlucky and get the 5-colour pack (not great for beginners haha!)

Those starter decks seem like a perfect idea for new players like my kids and I. Thanks for doing this video. I think I'll order all of these decks for us to try out.
They're great fun! I think the dragons deck is one of the best for a complete beginner, but all are good! Hope you and your kids have a blast playing!

For decks that only cost £20ish, they are a great introduction and loads of fun to play!
My mates are also new to Magic - they bought a few of the starter decks including the dragon one. I received a message during their first game asking whether it’s normal for a deck to wipe someone within 5 turns. Same story as what happened here! Mental. Welcome to Magic. 😅😂
It was probably my favourite moment playing magic! We were laughing for ages! We had to cut about 10 minutes of footage of wally begging to stay in the game 😂

For budget starter decks, these were incredible!
Such a great game with these, I honestly expected the same as you guys did about it being slow games due to a weak deck.
That definitely wasn't the case, if I was looking for a deck to give as a gift these would be great.
The decks are so well built with ways to keep the game moving (e.g. Christian's card that let us all draw on his upkeep). I really recommend picking them up!
@@TheChadMagic I might have to pick them up and give them away as gifts, they're cheap enough compared to most other releases.
Then again I'm still waiting to have a game with the Warhammer 40K decks, I'll just have to beg for a game like usual hah

@rippinskid I really like the Knights one! We actually do a play an episode with them, not sure if you've seen it yet? If you mean a second one then maybe but with the current schedule of new product its hard to look backwards 😂. I would be more than happy to play the Knights deck again though, even if it's not in an all precon pod

Okay usually not a huge Gruul fan, but this has left me with a ravaging impulse to buy that Dragon precon hahaha
Tom has since upgraded that deck to be a mirym deck! So it’s very versatile

Really glad you enjoyed it! I imagine the world of magic product is quite intimidating to a new player. It was when I started and now there is so much more! My recommendation is just getting whichever starter commander deck you think you like the look of. When you are new you kind of don't know what you are going to like in terms of playstyle so you need something just to 'turn up' with. I think the dragons deck is quite simple and easy to run out of the box so if you are looking for something not too complex then I would say that!
If you watch some of our other videos then you might get a feel for what will be your style, keep in touch with what you end up getting!

I loved this game even despite my turn 4 death!!
It’s actually insane how my first time playing this starter deck, and magic in general, I almost had the exact same 4 turns. Starting hand gave me shaman, sol ring and repulser I played my commander and I top decked primal might and one shot my friend with a +8/+8 6/4 Atarka for 28 dmg on turn 5
Good to see that Wally got the same result I did for playing the Isperia deck. This deck sucks for real and can’t keep up with the other precons 🙃
To be fair to it, we played a couple of games after and I won with the Isperia deck!
The worst thing you can do against Chaos Incarnate is to kill the commander because that commander is only useful when entering the battlefield.
I have been shocked at how powerful that rakdos commander is... But I have found a lot of people playing against it don't enjoy games a ton.
I would say it's genuinely fun in a pod. Some folks love really long games but personally I like things that accelerate the game so you can get more matches in. Forcing opponents to attack makes such a massive difference and stops stale board states - not for everyone I suppose!
I play Kardur and (at least while I'm there) players that play against me usually havea good time and enjoy the game play.
This was a decent showcase, except for Azorius lol. My LGS is thinking of doing one of these nights were people only play these. I'll probably play the goad, just so I can make the dragon players kill people for me, that sounds fun. lol
Yep. I got unceremoniously dumped out the game far too early! We played a few games off camera though and the deck actually really performed!
Awesome video. My son (13) just started playing magic and I grabbed Chaos Incarnate for him from my lgs and it was a massive mistake. He is a goad goat, seems to have an answer for everything and now he's looking to add flicker so he can keep up his commander goad....what have I released upon the world? Cheers!

Loved this! Just something I'm a little confused over though, wasn't Atarka a 13/13 with trample double strike? Wouldn't two people have been taken out on its first attack?
Hey T man! Double Strike still hits just one player. When a creature attacks a player all damage is dealt in that direction. Hope this helps and glad you are enjoying the content :)

Atarka being out so early and killing someone on turn 4 makes me think about that whole discussion about banning fast mana in Commander
It was a bit of a freak hand from Tom but these things happen sometimes!

It’s was lucky hand. Not to mention that it’s a starter commander deck, having access to fast mana helps keep it up on the tables against other tuned commanders decks. It’s not really that bad to warrant a ban.
My shops gonna start a commander league soon using the starter decks and losers will get upgrade slots in their deck for the next week, liking the token and the flying birds at first but man… the black red one looks perfect for multiplayer
The deck design is SO clever in how it keeps the game moving. I think this is a really good idea for a commander league, hats off to your LGS!

yeah the dragon commander deck is pretty broken compared to the others' but allover stuff like flying, especially with double strike and trample is nerver fun to play against since you know, either that player kills one after another, or he's the first to go.
and nope it's not just to play against that stuff, i cleared my dragon deck because it wasn't fun to play with xd.
Also i'm kinda sad not to see the zombie deck there xd
I think the dragons deck is limited a bit by the cost of its commander! However in this case, Tom got an absolutely ridiculous start and ramped into it early!
@@TheChadMagic yeah it's not wrong but there are enough spells to lower the cost, some of them we saw in the video (probably the 4 effects for that in the deck XD) and if we go to the customization that would normally happen afterwards it only gets faster XD (not to mention the slightly broken dragon +3/+3 enchantment... usually tribes only get +1/+1 by a single card xS)

21:30 a trigger was missed when the shaman died -- Kardur's player should gain 1 life and everybody else lose 1 life as an attacking creature was slain.

Depends how you like to play. I thought dragons was really powerful once you get your commander out. The rakdos one is a bit sneaky as it forces your opponents to attack each other. The azorious one is slow but good in the long game. Really depends on the player! If it was a brand new player I would recommend the dragons! Hope this helps 😅

Wally had the chance to exile that dragon on his turn and chose to make a deal with him instead fully knowing what Christian's commander does. The fact that Tom killed him instead of Sandie is justified because otherwise it was essentially Wally killing Sandie. The complaints about not holding up that bargain was pretty weak. Shouldn't have allowed him to have that dragon on turn 3 to begin with when you could have stopped it for the sake of the table.
Why was he even eliminated, he had 38 life and look 24 damage? Am I missing something?

@@TheChadMagic Ah, no, don't get me wrong. I am still finishing watching it since I do enjoy it, and it's not extremely hard to follow. Just some parts I don't understand as an unexperienced player and game being fast paced as well. It's just that the sole reason I came to watch it is I'm waiting for my first deck to arrive being the first one that went out of the game here hahaha.
