After watching this video a couple of times and doing exactly the same for like an hour my best attempt was 1:29 something. You make it look a lot easier than it actually is. I'm glad I found this channel and I hope you'll keep it up.
Thanks very much for your support mate I really appreciate it. I’ve been racing for a few years now and been using the same wheel and pedals for 18 months so have managed to build up some feel over time.

@@PM10Racing Thanks for the insights. I set up my first Simrig ever a week ago and switched from using the controller to steering wheel and pedals. I think I did okay using the controller (B rating, some gold medals in time trials) but I wanted to get a little more serious about it. I expected that I would be slower at first and that it would take some time to get to the same speed with the new equipment. But I didn't think it would be that difficult. It really is a completely different world. Your videos are definitely very helpful for me.
@SirDipsy you will definitely get quicker on the wheel and pedals setup as you can be much more precise with your inputs but as you say you have to put the seat time in to get these feelings to become 2nd nature.
When you get a good baseline of skills you will then just chip away a tenth here and a tenth there and just keep progressing like that.
Sometimes you need to tear yourself away from actual racing / hotlapping to do the drills to develop the correct feelings.
I’m thinking of doing more videos like this next year if I get the time to do them.

Fuji is actually deceptively difficult. It seems straightforward but getting the racing lines and throttle points correct is very tricky. It's easy to either brake or accelerate too early. As to the technical aspect, prolonged consistent braking will be hard for those of us using controller pad acceleration or deceleration.
I agree, it looks like it should be easy but it’s incredible how much time you can lose with just a few small errors. Having good vision is a must around here, gives you a much better feeling for where you need to place the car.
Also, I think the wheel/pedal users may have a small advantage in the trail braking elements of this combo. This car responds best with a lighter brake pressure and / or a quicker release off of the brakes.

@@PM10Racing Now that I have beaten the TT with a relatively safe gold time, I went back to do some mission challenges. Firstly I got pass the final stage of drifting at Tsbuka in just two tries (after an estimated 100+ tries) and then I went on to do the eco challenge at Nurburgring. For the drift mission, I am guessing that the couple of hours of snow driving had helped a lot, so that I could even beat the drifting in AT (as I forgot to switch back to MT), and that earns me the J2 at long last. For the eco challenge, which is the main reason I wrote this whole text, I noticed on the leader board that the best play did 120,000m on the fuel given, which I could only managed 1/10 of the distance (which is still far more than sufficient for gold). I wonder if you would interested to try that out and tell us whether there is any hints for beating it for at least one lap?

@@PM10Racing It's called "Least Fuel, Longest Lap 2" under the category "Gone with the Wind". I can assure that this is not your average fuel saving challenge, the game gives you only 2% fuel to begin with and my best distance travelled was just passed the carousel. Yes, it counts the distance, not time.

I didn't like this course before, but with this car and without that chicane it's actually quite nice. Still on silver at the moment but I have only done 2 or 3 laps, so plenty of time ;) I wish you a merry christmas man and thx for all your helpful content!
