#RCKicks #BT01 #Tamiya - Zábava
"It's a little bit wayward" - Quote of the day! Haha! You're much more polite about this chassis than I was, Gav. Good on you for taking it to the track before shipping it out, so you could be fully immersed in the slop-fest that is the BT-01. I'm digging the roof rack idea, looks rad! Great video pal, and congrats to the winner!
Of all the chassis that have been released this year so far, this was one of them, Gavin......probably.
LoL! I didn't know you had given it a run out! I'm not bothered about how it runs really, I'm just happy to have it. It looks great! Regards George.
:)!
I think Rex's RC channel sorted his out the best you can for what it is. I'm really looking forward to putting an M body on the new XM-01 pro chassis they have out. It's a little pricey, but looks like a quality rally car. People like to hate on Tamiya, but they forget about the XV-01 and XV-02.
XV-01, XV-02 and I'm sure XM-01 are great chassis. I also like the FF01, TC-01 to name a few
I saw that too on my own quest to see what's going on with this new chassis, he sussed it. Motor up front and RWD is the best configuration. What other chassis can do that? Not many I think. That's why it looks a good challenge to me.
I'd love to see a BMT RC car review! Build/ race review. Not much online about them, unfortunately.
Hi Gavin, I’d love to see you do a Schumacher Storm ST2, little different to all the great buddy’s you’ve been doing but still a kit to build and instead of a Truck to bash this would be good to see tested on the track?
It seems to be the standard responce for this chassis, but like you. We do have to like that tamiya did it, and tried something new. That side on shot driving on the track made me feel dizzy though 😂
I’m itching to see the Blazing Blazer!!👍👍
I must finish that one off
Could you replicate the Wheeler Dealers format but 1/10 scale? Basically buy a used RC car, show how you'd bring it back to full box art or race spec then sell it on for a small profit? Like WD you could do a full breakdown of parts and time it took to complete the repairs too. It could work as you have the Mike Brewer RC purchase and parts knowledge, plus you have the Ed China / Ant Anstead / Elvis mechanical skills too 😂. Also it covers many aspects of the hobby...
I did a fix and flip series before czcams.com/play/PLLRCQ2LgNjbZkKP5lB24kBKKXnWfhAW8c.html&si=ft_WntI5GZwd6H8R
A chassis so bad RCKicks recommends a TT02 instead. Ouch, haha.
LOL. I don’t hate TT02, I just wish we could see a TT03 and a few other chassis choices used as OMG the TT02 comes on just about every body over and over.
Maxx slash and the Gorgon would be great for another giveaway
It is what it is. Some will love and some will hate. Personally I wasn't impressed with the MB-01 either. Lots ya can do with it but let down by a couple of things. Sorry I missed ya at Rochester RC Track and hope to catch you next time.
Thank you for this video! Great effort regardless of the Tamiya chassis issues! I am lead to belive that Tamiya have released a Fiat 131 Rally car kit! May you please consider building one for your next feature?
That is on the older Tamiya MF-01X chassis. I build one of them in this video czcams.com/video/yIl4VcTxQ3w/video.htmlsi=mlvHds2s04pq7U-q
@@RCKickschannel Thank you! It was a great watch.
I wanna see TA-04. Nobody do videos about this one.
A bit more serious a track car the TA-04 but used prices are reasonable.
Tundra high lift please 😮
Please do make a review on the MB01 Citroen DS. I reckon the DS shouldn't be on a Mchassis but should be on a touring car chassis like the BT01. Its a little bit odd to make the DS a Mchassis because the DS is quite a big car or maybe Tamiya miscalculated certain dimensions of the DS? Do keep new updates coming i really enjoyed all your reviews. Cheers!😊
MB01 is a bit of a dumpster fire I hear but I haven't built or run one so can't say personally. I would maybe put a bit more money in the budget and get the upcoming XM-01 Pro, the Tamiya M-07 concept or M-08 Chassis Kit.
@@RCKickschannelit's 90% the same shit car
I’ve always been a fan of Tamiya, was mainly doing 1/24 scale models but my first Tamiya RC was TT02R with the Mustang, which I completed a couple of weeks ago and now want to fit lighting to it. I thought maybe you could do a tutorial on trying to convert a toy RC to a proper one.
For scale, BT-01. Maybe for Rallying. Just maybe. For racing, TT-01 or TT-02.
Can you review an Xpress car, such as Arrow AM-1. It's an on-road chassis, but I think it could be more exciting than Tamiya's M chassis offerings. Do you know any other higher spec M chassis products?
Would love to see you build and race a mtc such as the carton m210.
Maybe not for next month, but how about the RC10T? Another video I’d love to see is an overview of the rally/on road Tamyia chassis. As an off road person I’m kind of at a loss with all the m’s and t’s and such.
RC10T on order
A Traxxas SRT would be really cool to see.
IF you want to go onroad racing maybee try and find a Kysoho TF-5 Stallion, i had one a few years ago, sold it but it was a very nice looking 1/10 onroad car, could of been upgraded to something great.
Can you build another Tamiya Lorry or the Tamiya recovery truck (with all the options) :-)
It still looks great so im sure the winner will be more than happy.
I'd love to see some bigger stuff than the 1/10th buggy stuff, although they are brilliant.
What about a second hand basket case that you turn into a street shredding monster?
I have a Max Slash coming to the channel soon
And set a challenge to your viewers/patreons etc. We all have smart phones etc. It would be fun to bring people together
The Tamiya xm-01 should be out next month. Planning to get one myself.
Now that is looking much more promising for sure. A baby XV-02 rally
It will be 1000x better, but won’t be popular due to the price. Can’t wait to get one
Cool vid. Can u make a vid on your cars POV setup?
What my race buggy setup?
@@RCKickschannel no I meant your on car camera setup (POV = point of view camera) where you shoot the vid from the top of the car whilte driving...
@@RCKickschannel another vid topic: build quirks you have encountered whilte runnig the channel... example: parts that do not fit together in model X, holes you had to drill in model Z, part that dont make any sense in model Q. etc
Maybe Rabecca.
Damn I got here too quick.
Shame the BT-01 didn't hold up too well. Hopefully there will be improvements down the line from Tamiya or some hop-ups to fix that?
hold up ? you mean no tuning other then tires
People get carried away with slop. It really doesn't make as big a difference as you'd think. Of all the things I've done to improve my tt02 eliminating slop was the least beneficial. Make sure there is minimal friction in steering and suspension is much mote important
I dislike slop personally, it makes the car feel wooly and soft and harder to drive. I like a sharp pointy car on the track that feels consistent. That way it makes up for my crap driving more lol
Hello love your videos , I see you collect tamiya stuff , would you be interested in a mint twin detonator?
Not currently looking to add more cars to the collection, as all funds are going into the UK Grand Tour project
Go big losi Dbxle 2.0
Why not tt01e racing truck
Build to be class spec racer
Yep, that would be a better way to go.
Would like to see what you can do with a TOA8 chassis,(if i got the number right)if you haven't done it yet 😂
The TA08 Pro is a strong option for that money if you want to go one step up from a TT02.
@@RCKickschannel I would avoid the Pro verion, and get the TA08-R with all the very needed chassis upgrades, besides the included hop ups. Yes, it's more expensive but correct some of the complaints of the weak point in the rear and has all the hop ups you'll probably ever need for it.
Hi Gavin, Please build the B7 before it gets old and vintage.... LOL , no realy please that one first, the other ones are allready vintage or OLDER and seen them build over and over, i would like to see your experience with the build of the B7 and is it realy that good because there are so many other 2wd Buggies and it seems only The B7 is bought and run , more then other manufactures....
It's coming after the Gold Pan I'm working on now :)
Vintage losi or rc10 if budget allows...,
JRX2 would be epic
@@RCKickschannel For sure
how you gonna compare a 2wd to a 4wd tho ?
I didn't ? It's not as good as other 2WD when in 2WD and in 4WD it's not as good as other 4WD. The BT-01 can be 2WD front, 2WD rear and if you mod it, 4WD. Basically it's not as good on all counts
@@RCKickschannel what other 2wd touring cars are you comparing? As far as the ff set up, yeah probably not gonna keep up with an ff03, xray , express, but those are hardly in the same class . Im not bashing your vid btw but it is a good beginner chassis like the tt02 .
A lot of Tamiya's recent cars have had really bad steering out of the box. TT02s are just as bad. The M05 was terrible. Both were completely unacceptable until I replaced the entire steering mechanism with a machined system that rode on bearings. Then they were fantastic.
This is pretty much the only MUST HAVE upgrade for these cars. Even the friction shocks are okay at what they do. The steering is hopeless, though. I don't have a BT01 yet but I have no doubt it's just as bad as the TT02 and the M05.
Bad steering is Tamiya specialty. Check the bump-steer on the old Hotshot. CC-01 was the original king of slop! CC-02 also a big miss due to no panhard rod. I don't have much expectation for standard products.
Why not buy a Awesomatix A800R touring car?
I don't know, maybe the £674.00 kit price when I'm talking about a £155 BT01 budget LOL;)
@@RCKickschannel Yeaa they are crazy expensive..But you dont need to buy any upgrades.. They are all included in the kit..
Dude. Damn man. I think you miss the actual target that Tamiya has got in mind for the Market. For the everyday man in the street, Tamiya offers the best of both worlds. Good build, good detail, good performance at a price that most people can afford. So ofcourse Tamiya is not Traxxxas quality. I even had to shim up a LOT on ALL my Tamiya cars. But what I paid for them compared to other brands on the market, Tamiya is unbeatable.
There is bad and then there is the BT-01. For a hobby grade its poor, for tamiya its very poor and for the price point, its shocking.
I was comparing it against other Tamiya chassis. TT01 or TT02 with hop-up steering and oil shocks would smoke this and only cost £20-£30 more. Well a Tamiya Lancia 037 Rally - TA02-S is £30 more than a BT-01! That or a Tamiya M-08 Chassis Kit is the same price as the BT-01. All better choices.
All the things you mention are accomplished with the TT02 (as Gav mentions in the video)... at a better price. This BT-01 is an absolute puzzler. No idea what market it is going for.
"poodle" around?
540 silver can motor on a small track.
Sorry, I was being pedantic about the term you used; it's "pootle".
Buy a RC motorbike!
This car looks so bad I almost want one. I'm curious to see just how shit it is.
It’s not like you can’t improve it with a bucket of shims and some steering upgrades but why bother when you have a good few better chassis options around the same money
