    Low key one of the greatest features I remember about my 96 ES is the doors not having a frame for the windows. Always made me feel like I was driving a convertible during the summers with no a/c lol

      you don't have to say low key at the beginning, it adds nothing to the sentence. And old farts will think you are dumb when you say it, best not to let slang get in your vocab too much because then its hard to turn off.

    I inherited my dad's '98 ES when he passed away, I ended up trading it in for a new '10 TSX V6. I drove the car for a few years, it was such a smooth driving car. My dad never really took care of the car though, he wasn't a car guy, so the car was kind of falling apart when I got a hold of it. Interestingly, my ES also lost a lug nut along the way. Good luck with the car, it's a sweet ride. I love to see older Lexus cars on the road.

      Anything in particular you had to have fixed once you got ahold of it?

    • @Bear_Arms
      @Bear_Arms Před rokem +1

      @@AlephTroll the only major issue I had was the AC busting on me. Again, that too was most likely due to my dad not using the car's automatic climate control correctly. A few other things were replaced under an extended warranty I bought for the car, but I honestly doubt those things actually needed to be replaced. It was all suspension stuff. The car drove fine, but since the shop was able to get the warranty to cover it, I allowed them to do the work.
      It was a terrific car. I believe the car had about 150K miles on it when I traded it in, which is nothing for an ES. I wouldn't be surprised if it's still on the road today.

    When it comes to your tweeter warning on Crutchfield it basically means you'll need a specific adapter bracket for your car so the tweeter slides into the plate and then the plate screws into the car and fits like OEM. If you have trouble finding a tweeter bracket for your model, 3D printing would be the way to go. COOL DAILY!

    Worked for Toyota many years, see if you see a label when the last timing belt was replaced. That’s the last thing you need snapping, and while there in there changing the belt, have them change oil pump gasket , water pump gasket and crank o ring. You want that car to last take care of those things. Love the Vids, and stay real.

    Hey I noticed that the radiator on your car is turning brown. Its a very common thing for older toyotas to have that and It means that the plastic on the radiator is brittle and it could burst unexpectedly. you right about that. my dad had given one to me with 260k miles on it. and if you start in L and then climb up to 2 then get into drive aka the third gear with traction control and o/d off it fucking eats for what it is. i was once cutting up on the highway with it and ended up getting in a race with three corvette's they mightve been faster but i won the race cuz the thing is quick and nimble with good steering (perfect for cutting up) i took gaps that they couldn't take and left em in the dust.

    I know this is old but isopropyl alcohol will get those stickers off the bumper. Just peel and wipe with a cloth soaked in the ipa. Easy.

    You can also re gas the bonnet struts if they need it. I had to on a 2011 Aurion that I still own.

    Has the maintaince been very expensive and have you taken it on any recent road trips recently? Have you fixed everything yet?

      Tweeters can go in different places. They don't have to go in the same place.
      That tint is only mirrored tint and not ceramic. It's old and is why it looks weird. The sticker, goo gone and heat. It will take it off.
      Brakes... Do you know what type of calipers are on the back? Some of them need a caliper tool, and this tool is not expensive.
      Be careful not to burn your air force fingers with those old bulbs

    The sterio might fix itself especially if it has not been used much. Mine was very scratchy.. but after using the sterio for few days it was fine

    The yellow is called tungsten and the led light temperature is daylight it’s measured in kelvin so 2600-3000k is tungsten 5600-6000k is daylight. Sounds like the sending unit needs to be upgraded eventually. Not now but eventually. I have to do this with my 98 lexus it says empty even with a full tank.
