- The linkage assemblies on our bushing equipped models are designed to be easily serviceable. Once every season, you should disassemble your frame, check all components, and replace wear items as needed.
If you pivot the rear swingarm, while only connected to the upper link, it should feel very smooth and frictionless. If it feels notchy or rough, it's time for a linkage overhaul.
We recommend re-greasing the bushings with slick honey annually, and replacing the bushings in their entirety after two seasons of use.
This video walks you through the assembly and bushing service for the Ripmo. We also have a disassembly video available here:
• Ripmo Disassembly Tuto...
The disassembly and assembly videos are applicable to the:
Ripmo V1, V2
Ripley V4
Ripmo AF
Ripley AF
Mojo HD5
Mojo 4
Please check your manual to ensure you have the proper torque settings and thread treatment for your specific model. If you feel uncomfortable performing the work yourself, we recommend heading to your local shop for service.

I loosely threaded the upper link upper bolts (wide) first, then aligned the lower (narrow end) and threaded those 2nd. This made it much easier. Getting 4 holes aligned perfectly to thread the bolts was a mother.
Did this searching for a creak on my Ripmo AF, noob as I am I found the creak after this whole Process and it was the seatstay. Cleaned it and tightened to 5nm and voila! I’m now Mr Silent Bike😎🤙
Are you talking about the bolt at @3:31 ?
Helpful video. Thanks
Thing of beauty.
done! ^^ thx, guyz!
Is that a large frame? I've found that on my medium frame I can't fit the clevis / shock combo in once assembled.
Where does one get the bushing tool shown in your video?
What about the internally routed shifting cable?
When installing the Upper Link upper bolts, how do you torque it to 10Nm? I can't seem to find any torque tool that actually fits inside of there.
Came here looking for that answer. My guess is that it requires a low profile hex bit.
I usually just best guess these, I torque up one of the accessible bolts to 10Nm and then put a long Allen key into same bolt until it just begins to turn, I feel the force and look at the bend in the Allen key when holding at the end and then try and apply same to the upper link bolts, err on the side of slightly less as you use loctite anyway so shouldn't move. Works for me.
The Feedback Sports torque wrench fits.
@@weaselbmx awesome, thanks for that!
Hi. What brand and type of grease do you apply?
Slick Honey or Slickoleum
What is the brand and model of your bushing press?
It's the v1 ripley press they sell it on the ibis site
What’s the maintenance schedule of this? How often or when should you do this?
As stated above - The linkage assemblies on our bushing equipped models are designed to be easily serviceable. Once every season, you should disassemble your frame, check all components, and replace wear items as needed.
Just fyi for anyone, the ibis manual says 10nm for clevis swingarm bolts (not 5nm shown here)
So which is it?
@@ericrollins4607 the manual is newer, that's what I follow..
Bit of a pain that a low profile torque wrench is needed for the upper link bolts.
Chose V1 over the V2!
Y? I have v1 and want to upgrade

Ibis provides guidance in the description.
