  • After the compression knob stopped working (open, mid, firm) the good folks at DVO suggested I complete a 100 hour service. I think it turned out ok. The next service will be a bit faster and less messy.

For any future reference, if your glide ring isn’t dirty, damaged, or badly discolored don’t remove it if you are an at home wrencher. For professional grade suspension service the glide ring needs to be sized using a tool. I have several of these tools for fox shocks. The tool essentially squeezes the glide ring into shape so the tolerances are nice and close but you don’t get binding. If you already opened the shock and took the glide ring off one thing you can try is fitting the damper shaft with the glide ring into the damper body without filling it with oil. You can lightly coat the glide ring and carefully work it into the body, then let it sit for a couple hours so the damper body can squeeze on the glide ring. Also please wear gloves, all the suspension fluid and slick honey are known carcinogens and a one time exposure isn’t gonna give you cancer but if you do it as a job exposure to these chemicals will increase your risk of developing cancer.

When you did the bleeding section what bleed kit/thread did you use. I need to get one to fit the DVO shock. Also I like your pick set where is that from?

@@eduardoegea6732 For bleeding Topaz and Jade X shocks you will need a Rock Shox Reverb bleed syringe adapter.

Hi what size torq thread is used on the bleed syringe? I’m gonna have a go at doing this service on mine. Have threaded syringe I think it’s in T-15 or T-20 for Formula brakes.

@@ka81alex Didn’t order vice jaws in time. So cheated and used a towel between the vice and the shaft. Not the best option but got the job done this time.
