Nemona doesn't scare me but I agree that both Arven and Penny's stories in the game were amazing, sad, and relatable and deserve a hug while Nemona is just so annoying and has no personality aside from battle me MC...

As somebody who has parental issues with a mom who coddles me and a dad who was hardly ever home, it does warm my heart to see this comic dub. I do relate to Arven and Penny quite a bit. Although, I will admit that I relate to Penny the most between Arven, Penny, and Nemona.

Honestly, would it do any good? We may have gotten it from *a* professor, who's parent to *a* Arven, but from another timeline.

Now I'm thinking about Glamrock Freddy's existential crisis when he and Gregory were dealing with the endo bots.
Arven is outright the best written character Pokemon has ever had (yes including N). His attitude and quirks are actually all very understandable and I’d hazard realistic. He’s the victim of severe parental neglect (debatably outright abandonment) and was left largely to be cared for by his dog. On top of that he’s been left a giant secret lizard (so no social life) that seems to exist only to eat his food and cause trouble whenever it hears the word sandwich. This dog was mortally wounded (probably in some foolhardy attempt to contact his parent) and modern medicine had nothing it could do so he’s probably had to turn to every snake oil salesman and “traditional” method searching for a way to help. Of course his attitude is cold and bitter when we meet him he has had one of the worst childhoods we’ve ever seen in the games. You can even find a good reason for his obsession with sandwiches. He was essentially alone for most of his life so he had to prep his own food and I challenge you to find an easier recipe then slapping together a couple of pieces of bread with something in the middle of it. I’m gonna be honest pretty sure the AI said that his parent loved him just to try and make him feel better because the robot is a better parent and person than either professor. He is remarkably well written.
While I agree that the AI was a better person than their creator, I don't think they lied to him. We know they're capable of lying--they lied to us the whole game--but right then, I feel like they were being brutally honest.
There's a reason for Arven being so well written. His story is based on the director's experiences with parental loss while in his teens.

Everyone in that storyline including the robot needs a hug and therapy.
and idk what anyone else says, if Porygon are alive, the AI is alive. And was telling the truth when they said that Arven's parent truly loved him.
There's always a question about that ending, one that can never be answered, and that's if the professor could have changed. Their own double realized that what they were doing was wrong and would only end in disaster. If the professor had survived, would they have come to that same realization? Or would they have doubled down on it, their brush with death only a reminder of how time is limited and they have to work even harder for Paradise no matter what?
Because the AI and the PPP are really both their true selves. The AI is their lingering compassion, who loved Arven and who died to save the paradox dragon. And the PPP is their zealous obsession, shutting out everything else for the sake of achieving their goal at any cost. That they both represent the true person is fascinating, and that we never really meet the real one means there can never be an answer (YES I know about the crystal pool scene but one, that version of them is from when Arven was young and two, they're also from a parallel timeline, so they're not the same professor from our world)

La pregunta cambia completamente si nos preguntamos ¿Qué pasaría si Henry y William abren una pizzería? ¿Quiénes son estos personajes? En un principio, grandes amigos. Henry, por un lado, era un ferviente y talentoso mecánico que cuidaba a su única hija, Charlie. No sabemos nada de su esposa, ni siquiera si tiene a alguien más en su familia. Y por el otro lado, William Afton. La familia de Afton estaba compuesta por 5 miembros. William, una persona con mucho dinero y con buena capacidad para la mecánica. Su hija menor, Elizabeth. Este pendejo que no sabemos el nombre, pero llora todo el tiempo, así que vamos a ponerle Crying Child. Michael Afton, su hijo mayor y su esposa, de quien no se sabe nada. Soul-powered robots. But it doesn't quite match up since the robot and the professor existed at the same time for a while.
I mean, if the android/robot is sentient, has enough autonomy and still thinks that way... in a way, it was "real" to a degree. Of course this is a fictional scenario, but if AI or android robots would get too "real" like in anime/live-action fiction but still be forced to have the "laws of robotics" that include first "do not harm humans" then the rest is slave like nonsense while the damn thing has basically a human brain emulator like mind, their memories become just as valid once they have enough "free will" just like regular people, breaking the concept of "humanity" the moment that happens... given they have achieved that same "humanity", so much that they would be able to feel frustrated by discrimination or whatever dystopian xenophobic shit usually fictional has on humanoid robots/androids.
But yeah, it would be real if that cybernetic entity developed those feelings on their own eventually if not just forced entirely by done programming.
The laws of robotics only apply to the works of Asimov and any work using what he wrote. The AI in this game is never said to be under those rules. However, this is also the franchise where ducks made of programming code were accepted as living beings from the beginning. It only stands to reason that someone would eventually create a human robot that's alive in the same way a Porygon is.
