edit: Kinda overwhelmed by the amount of attention this is getting! I want to make another one, but at the same time, this one was a lighting in a bottle moment where I was incredibly loopy and tired at 1 AM. Looks like my last response got deleted, so I'm gonna post another. Basically, for a good majority of players Geeta's battle was a letdown in difficulty for a champion hyped up as being unbeatable and so into battling that she can't go easy on challengers. She basically just felt like another gym leader in difficulty. Combine that with Nemona's champion battle being a significantly better challenge with a more well designed team, and many fans have adopted the joke of Geeta being a fraud and Nemona being the real champion of Paldea.

But Geeta is not the final boss of the game and neither is Nemon, so both of them are not worthy of the title of champion, because the real final boss is the Sada/Turo robot. But thanks to the Dlc and the reworked order of the Geeta team (glimmora first/kingambit last), we can say for sure that there is no fraud on its part

A lot of the videos were made by SanwichAndCereal. Just look for them on CZcams and watch their animations from about 10-12 years ago.
Sadly you won't need a lot of scrolling through their channel to find them as they seem to have stopped 9 years ago. They were really talented especially for the time, being able to put out so many short animations.

Moreover, Kingambit, one of the most hilarious all or nothing Pokémon you could put at the end of a fight, with an ability that uber buffs it if you use it last, but that is just slow enough and just badly typed enough to be a fair foe for a casual player, *isn't* her last Pokémon. Like, I get it, she's supposed to represent rock types, but if that's the case, protip: use a decent rock type for your ace instead of a poison setter.

@@mintycaramel7250 to add to this, there's a popular theory that she's actually Peony's *other* daughter. The naming scheme for the family checks out, Penny's comments about her annoyingly over-doting father check out, Galarian backgrounds check out, and there's a few other implications we could take from context.
Peonia and Penny are quite inverse, likely not being close (if we proceed with the theory that Peony is both their dad) due to the former being an extrovert and the latter an introvert. Peony being a loveable goof that wants to spend time with his family on expeditions would struggle to drag Penny across Pokémon Scotland for a legendary Pokémon hunt (given both Penny's introversion and fondness for Eeveeloutions, not legends), but he could convince Peonia who (despite rolling her eyes at bonding time) would enjoy the new experience and getting to meet exciting people and Pokémon.
Penny's skin tone is quite different from Peony and Peonia, but if we went with a combination of a light-skinned mother (different from her *half*-sister) and a pale complexion from almost all her life spent indoors on her computer (which she could have easily been provided with in addition to training by Uncle Rose's Macro Cosmos organisation), then I think it's possible.
The timings for Penny moving to study in Paldea also work if we suggest Sword and Shield's events are 3 years prior (parallel to the game releases). The blowback of Uncle Rose being responsible for the Darkest Day would be troubling to overcome, and although Peony re-entered the limelight through the Galarian Star Tourney, if anything it just brought more attention to the family (both good and bad). Peonia would likely revel in the attention, but for Penny's loneliness and anxiety, some distance from those events would be good. Where better than Paldea? Sunny and upbeat, not too far from Galar, prestigious school to hopefully make some friends at so she can come out of her shell a bit.
Only that leads to the birth of Team Star after Penny and some of her soon-to-be-friends get bullied. Perhaps because Penny is the quiet Galarian girl (though I doubt nationalism comes into play, never seems to in Pokémon), or maybe rumours spread about her family controversy. Either way Team Star begins plotting against the bullies, things come to a head and the school faculty fractures itself trying to solve the crisis. Penny is sent home to Galar for a year and a half for both her involvement *and* the hope that it's a less turbulent atmosphere.
Penny might have gone back to her mum's place, but given how she speaks more of her dad (and how Peony doesn't really talk about a wife) it's possible she's not in the picture for some reason. If she did go back to Peony, it probably wasn't a good time. He'd try to comfort her, but his enthusiasm and energy doesn't mesh with her laidback introversion. Her inability to talk to her friends much or see them on campus (from afar as she hadn't worked up the courage to meet them by that point) would be a downer for her, as would the gloomier Galarian weather. Uncle Rose is likely still on the run or in prison, and her dad is spending most of his time trying to regain the respect of his other daughter *and* battling with the Galarian Champ who took what essentially would have been Penny's place on the Crown Tundra expedition.
So really then you have Penny devoting her time to her Eeveeloution team and brushing up on her computer skills, also readying herself for when she goes back to Paldea. The whole Team Star thing's getting out of hand, and the new school director is cracking down on their truancy. But given their attitudes and codes, they won't give up and return to school easily, so Penny begins formulating Operation Starfall shortly before she and the player have their first (or in Penny's case, first since suspension/exile lifted) day at Naranja/Uva.
TLDR Not only is she British, she's the second (and better) daughter of the Crown Tundra Legend himself, Steel Peony

I love how Penny and the player are just not paying attention to anything that's happening. Pennys just concerned with not getting her sylvian bonked anymore while the player character just doesn't give a shit. Really nails the elementary school vibe. Like the two older kids are arguing while the little ones just bicker about their own interests.
