I actually love this small friend circle the game gives us. Nemona is the very extroverted one that tries to be the life of the party and hype everyone up at all times. Arvin is the ambivert who gets tired of Nemona’s antics very easily but still appreciates not being completely lonely. Penny is the introvert that somehow finds the chaos of the other two comforting in a way, if not entertaining.
Yknow if I can rant a little, I think this game did amazingly well at portraying not just the types of kids that inhabit a school, but how they click and interact with one another within their own personalities and stereotypes- Nemona's a perfect portrayal of those girls who do really well and always succeed academically but don't have a whole lot else under the hood so to speak, Arven's a good example of someone who has stressors and priorities that take away from academic success that not everyone sees or understands (which also affects his image) and Team Star had excellent development, and coming from a bullied kid without a huge support system in school, I think they touched a very sweet spot with how they handled it in game.
Not really, based on the expression on the player's face before the final Nemona battle, I think they enjoy Nemona's company. Then again, I guess pokemon protags are pretty self insert

Ya know, by the end, you actually feel kinda bad for her. She’s clearly ADHD, got a ton of energy and doesn’t know how to control it, so she goes nuts all the time, but eventually she realized that people didn’t really LIKE her because of all her energy, so she started holding herself back around everyone except people who really GET her energy. Like the player. It’s kinda sad and kinda sweet in a way. Too bad they didn’t explore that at all in the game beyond: “WOW! I can go all-out on you in battle! YAAAAAY!” But the message was there…somewhere.
Lots of Pokemon characters have lots of potential and then the games never explore it at all and we have to hope that the anime or manga does something with them (or it's up to the fans)

Nemona is Gamefreak's way of showing the fanbase what they truly think of us. And Larry is the what Gamefreak sees itself as. A hardworking 9 to 5 working pulling overtime, and working numerous jobs to please the player.
This is unironically one of the cutest animations I've ever seen just because of 0:48 alone. It was also kinda nostalgic in a way that reminded me of those old Pixar shorts I loved watching on a DVD as a kid.
