- On several occasions throughout Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, you have the option to give characters a negative answer when they ask you something. Let's see how everyone reacts when we constantly do that.

@@Yarott75 there are lots that give you multiple options. And more that doesnt give you the option "Yes" and "Of course" like pokemon loves to do. I can say, Xenoblade, shin megami tensei, persona 5, fire emblem. and those are the ones i know. Pretty syre theres alot more.

Nemona, the real antagonist. No matter how many times you say no to her, she'll force it into a yes
One of the reasons why I despise Nemona. Not only is she battle-psychotic crazy, and extremely annoying, she’s basically very controlling, in a somewhat nice way.

It would make a good plot for an hack rom: your character is just tired of everyone being that controlling and costantly forcing them with no interest for their feelings, you go on your path to destroy them.
Pretty simple and nothing new, but it's so satisfyng to make those kind of characters eat some dirt.

Clavell is such a good person. As the principal you would expect him to be strict and hard to talk to, but he's really welcoming and compassionate. You can see he really cares about students, one by one

We just need more variety in the dialogue in general, and perhaps the game would feel less forced.
Yeah even just some question joke or sarcasm would be better as a second option. Saying no usually doesn't change anything. It would be funny if you could get a certain pokemon evolution by making some snide quips instead.
Manners pokemon/ illmanners or maybe an evolution on the classic comedy duos. Jokster- the goofy reactive one vs the straight man- the serious one the other side plays off of.
Imagine someone walks up to you like "You're here for the gym?" And you weren't, but they still hand you the guy that runs the gym's wallet... Despite claiming you weren't going to give it to them.

@@KyoryuDiabolos But then what? These questions are pretty black and white, there'd be no game if you could get away with saying no. What should really happen is either stop asking the player questions, or rephrasing the yes/no options into a more earnest yes or a more begrudging or sarcastic yes.
@@PTp1ranha Refusing everything could lead into the npcs assuming you’re a loner and want to be left alone instead of all of them forcing you into things you may not want to do. It’ll be more like a souls game where you ignore the npcs and do a straight boss rush to beat the game. Not everyone is interested in the side activities Pokémon tries to gaslight you into doing. Some people just want to beat the gyms, the elite four and the champion and call it done.
I was laughing way too hard at the refusal to admit to being a Champion and how it kept zooming in closer to Nemona as she got more frustrated to the point she could hardly speak.
But I also wanted to cry at Arven’s desperation at wanting to confirm Mabosstiff barked and Penny feeling “figures, nobody ever notices my existence…” at being told you can’t remember her.
Did want to chuckle as well at the whole “look, I REALLY think you should give your sandwich to Koraidon/Miraidon!” thing because it felt like the game was about to snap and just go “give it the f***ing sandwich already!!”.
For some reason I like people who tries/tests to say the bad/harsh dialogue because I don't want the NPCs to think my player is bad or weird

Nintendo Unity, thanks for addressing this topic. I was honestly wondering if saying "no" to your rival at the start would result in them picking the stronger starter instead of the weaker one. Like, a hard mode flag.
That'd be cool if it did, but I think that's giving Gamefreak too much credit for creativity haha.

Teaching kids that no matter how much you say no people will forcefully get their way isn’t the greatest lesson Nintendo has ever taught.
Nintendo has very little involvement, if anything it's entirely gamefreaks fault beyond even the most unreasonable doubt.
