You might want to think about some kind of headache rack to protect the back window, I could see that breaking pretty easy 👍
I will now look into one ☝️
Yep...first hit and it's gone!
Was thinking about a rack as well
Maybe also more frame structure to the bed so it won’t flex
I love your idea for bedlinning the whole thing. I've had 3 trucks all bedined (black, red, and gray) the red one looked terrible but that's from the bad body shop guy. I've been considering doing my current 01 LB7 in color match charcoal too.
Ha Josh, I love the idea of the bed liner look, but please take a bit of advice from someone that learned the hard way, put a little headache rack on there to protect that back glass , we love the channel , keep building 👍
switching the hydraulic lines may have helped because the may be a flow restriction on 1 side to slow the drop of the bed. Also, may want to check the pressure relief setting on the pump as it may be set lower then needed. Last, the heavier the load is to the front of the bed, the harder it is to lift.
BTW that cummins sounds amazing. Little off topic. Your video just reminded me of all the good memories I had with my Dad (recently passed away) chopping and stacking wood. Good good memories. Thank for reminding me. I really needed this. Keep up the great content. Absolutely love the channel.
That for sharing brother! That really means a lot
Yup
@@TruckMaster mad respect. You and your wife absolutely made my day with this video. Again thank you for reminding me of those wonderful memories of my Dad and I.
It makes sense to go ahead and bedline it for what you're using it for and I like the old school bullet hole Wheels! That's an old school truck it belongs with old school Wheels.
Definitely
I have the same dump kit on a 2006 Lbz long bed, I laid a plate of 1/4" plate in the bed and welded a gooseneck ball on it. I cut a small hole in the bed and welded the lift to the plate to stop bed flex. It works good.
I need to try this idea out on the dodge
You could get a headache rack built that's removable so you could put it on your bed while hauling firewood to protect rear window then remove it for shows
I’m really putting some thought in that idea 💡
Agree 100% with the headache rack. I put one in my last new truck after a piece of firewood took out the rear window the first month I had it.
dude thank you for showing your challenges as well as your overcoming them.
We love your show Josh, keep up the good work. You probably want to reinforce your bed so it doesn't Rock while you lift it. Merry Christmas
I'm very glad that you went with the later front bumper. It really makes a difference.

My 01 has a Northern Tool dump kit, biggest issue I had was the hinge brackets broke, but that was my fault. Also just a FYI, if you bed line it, depends what you want to dump, the material might not slide out as easy. I mainly use it for gravel and most of it will slide out until the very last bunch, then I have to sweep it down the bed.
That’s a great point I didn’t think about that
@@TruckMaster plastic bed liner everything will dump out easier and smoother
I love that you are lining it
I had my 06 dmax linexed... great way to make them tuff... curious if u r gonna line the frame or paint it? Either way cool build....
Inlove the idea Josh. Looking forward to it.
Awesome! Glad that it works like it should 👍🏻
Try adding some Caterpillar anti stiction fluid into the hydraulic fluid. That may help prevent it from doing it again also. Something you can add to the hydraulic fluid reservoir on an 5th wheel to help prevent the leveling system from popping and settling down over time.
Add anti-striction fluid to hydraulic fluid. Will probably fix popping. Had issue with fifth wheel leveling doing same. It fixed it
Hey mr truck Master a nother great video on your channel i hope you have a safe holiday and merry Christmas from my family to your family keep up the great work on your channel
heck yeah. cant wait to see your finished product!
Thanks Jesse
Cool stuff, keep it up. I don't even have a Dmax anymore but still watch!
Thanks Paul
Got er working great 👍 Awesome 🏁 Bed liner Spray Excellent 🏁🤠 Great video Thanks.
Hello Josh and Melanie. Well let's see how great the dump bed kit works.
Switch the wires on the pump solenoids to get the up and down buttons corrected
Thanks
Nice work truck. Thinking of bedliner on mine. My truck is a blue similar to yours. Can’t wait to follow buildup.

Switch lines back if the wire was loose pretty sure it cause you weak operation so make sure all connection are tight. If it does it again just switch the solenoid itself. Good luck brother enjoy your videos.
My cousin done basically the same with a gasser 1 ton older Ford he build a steel flatbed with board sides he cuts it, and has the hydraulic lift. But he uses the bucket on his tractor to load it, that way no more back breaking work . Cuts and splits in the woods, loads the tractor and uses it to load the truck and on the last trip on the truck. Loads the tractor on his trailer takes it home unloads and he's done. Basically not picking up a stick of wood, again he's like you heating his home and his shop with the outside furnace.
Thanks for sharing not a bad idea using the bucket 👍
I like the bed-liner idea! Not sure about using the rough liner throughout the jams though
i raptor lined my 2003 Duramax this fall because i live on a dirt road and i had a lot of stone chips so far i love it

Look into the hydraulic valves. I'm pretty sure you have a small sliver stuck in one. Possibly caused by and Cross thread start?
And i Loaded the Wife!!!! sounds so mean ! with much laughter here !that was funny to me! she is so beautiful & not big at all! Any lady to come out & be a part of your world is a true Blessing! Nice work...have to fix it for Toyota Landcruiser 79 model D/Cab....
Brother I cannot WAIT to see the full bedline job - So happy you are doing this!! Keep the dream alive for those of us that want diesel - but cannot float the obnoxious inflated price tag on not only the engine, but the fuel too. #LetsGoBrandon
Okay Josh, like you said, it’s your truck so you can do what you want…true statement. I think the truck looks great just like it sits. I’d rather see you apply your time and talent on the Wifemax.
Thanks 🙏
Switch the wires on the sollinoids on your hydraulic pump and see if that doesn’t make the up and down buttons function as they should. I’m not saying it will work but it might be something to try.
Looking forward to your next step in the dump saga. It's the ride I enjoy, so take it where you want to go.
I was contacted by you on telegram is that you Josh
Because I don't think it is
I think it's a scamer using you pic and id
Some of these hydraulic motors have 3200 psi up and 1500 psi down so maybe the up and down was backwards
Thanks
I found one of them lifts brand new in the box for a hundred bucks at a garage sale it was for a dodge but I put it on a totalled out ford box I made into a trailer it lifts anything I've put in it so far I've had it for 15 to 20 years now so yours might have had air in it , putting the hoses on backwards would of just made the switch backward I'd say air locked but it's looks like it's working great now
That’s good to hear your setup still works after that long 👍
That look cool in that color bed liner.
Love the truck! No shame in a perfect family owned work truck🤘🏼
that’s gonna look sick in my opinion but i’d do a flat color like grey tan black not bright blue but like you said your truck i totally agree
Thanks Tim
This is my Dream truck I love the color and dump bed.
It’s the only way I like a cheap plastic bed liner; gravel and firewood slide awesome!! My dually would lift 3800#s of gravel loaded towards the back, 4000 and I shoveled😅
Heck yeah do the dump bed on the beast of a Truck Chevy all the way! Just saying man that Z06 is a Rocket!!!
I like the idea of Raptor lining the whole thing. 👌
You’ve got relief valves and the one for the down was tighter than the bottom up valve so you should be able to adjust relief valves and switch lines back and take care of it… hope that helps

We have a Vevor 1.78 GMP electric hydraulic power unit. On that pump, Port A is 3,500 psi and port B is 1,500 psi. Port A would go to the lifting (extending) side of the ram and port B would be for your contracting side. Your power unit looks identical to ours just smaller and I am betting you just had hoses backwards on your set up, or possibly it could have been the muffler bearings!! 😁👊🏻
Well that definitely explains everything 😂👍 thanks for the feedback
I always remember your motto of the channel when you first started…. “learning together“💪🏻🇺🇸
I bought a used slide in hay bales mover that goes in the back of a truck. It has had great power lifting a bale up. And with all the weight of a bale going down is almost instant. I had problems with my title switch remote. After taking it out for inspection I noticed 2 wires broken and not connected to switch anymore. After installing switch with repaired connectors I discovered the machine now doesn't how down gravity type way it actually has down force now. Probably equal to up force..

Keep your heavy part of load axle to the tailgate also makes it work better.
Love the idea
Earl actually fix something lol 😆 😂 🤣 😅
😂😂
What about tinting the bed liner Mopar's Sergeant green or whatever it's called, that kinda army green they have nowadays on Jeeps and stuff.
just a thought on the bed liner. after you spray it let it dry for a few hours then clear coat it with a few coats, it will help. do yourself a favor. you will be happy!

Dude it's your truck, do what you want to do with it. If that's what suits your needs the most then have at it...... 👍👍👍
Great video! Man I'm a subscriber have been since u started that dodge. I personally have a 12 brown two tone 6.7 Ford and have that brand of wheels, I was curious of your thoughts since there a little cheaper? I think I have the 383's chrome not sure tho
I love them, they look great and very affordable
Bed liner idea. Is a good idea to do I thought about doing to my truck. But I don’t how to do it.
I love the idea!!
Thanks
bed line it so i know how itll look when i eventually redo my 01 lol, its rusted to hell. actually looked about the same as that truck when you first got it
My old 06 cummins was red and I had it done color matched and it looked terrible but that's because the body guy was 2nd rate. My other two trucks looked pretty good bedlined. One black and one gray.
what did you use for hydraulic fluid? sounds stupid but makes a huge difference on what you use for fluid
Nice about time for a video...lol All fun times tho
I like it . Great idea for a work truck..
Thanks
Does the dump system have a check valve in it? With lines being backwards that’s the only reason I could see why the bed would drift down. Did the system come with a hydraulic schematic you could show?
I think this will look pretty awesome!

Nice.
You need to replace the ram with one that dumps and stacks. Now that would be impressive. :)
That would be cool

You should do a giveaway for the wheels your taking off! 😃
Do some sort of homemade rack style also at the end of the day it's my truck lol 😆
Yes bedline it 😊
Great video is always Just have a quick question what brand tractor is that Lol
It’s a Mahindra
Thank you
That’s a good idea to rapper line it
Have you put videos up on garage channel, just curious if I’m not getting the vids?
I check channel every now and then but nothing
I would love to see how you actually bed line a whole truck
Thanks Easton
You just had the return line in the wrong side of the pump you should change the in the ram too if the return line is bigger
Don’t stop now Stacks and a flat bed with removable sides 😁
👍👍👍
@@TruckMaster and 38’s
Black frame will look good. The red was to much in your face. The bed liner in blue is awesome. Wish I had more money to do stuff to my ram lol.

Yes do it
My 78 Chevy has a pto on the transmission. Better than electric.
Yes bed liner the truck
Snow salt trees etc
👍👍👍
Bed line the whole thing it makes sense and it would look cool
Thanks
Need a back rack/ is your driver side back tail light out ?
Yes I need a tail light
Very nice 👍
Thanks
Change the red and white wire around and then the buttons should work right. Nice project….
I'd say powder coat or Cerakote the bed, but you don't have an oven that big. I had a dump trailer with elec/hydraulic pump similar. The wiring on your dump motor looks very small, like for a 120v application. Either add a battery in parallel next to the pump or rerun an 8awg amp wire from under the hood to the pump, same for the ground cable. Either way upgrade the wiring. Get some nice crimp terminals, maybe stainless or gold plate. Run the bed up and down under load and grab the wires. If those little wires are hot then that's the culprit. If u got an amp clamp u can check it easily since it's DC. Agreed with repainting the frame. It seems any color besides black on a frame looks like shit. Use that tamco your friend used on his truck
What kit dit you use as it appears the limit for the kit may have been exceted?
I got a 2013 Chevy 2500hd, I bought some wheels n tires that are 8x6.5, found out my truck was 8x180. My question is are wheel adapters safe? I do haul heavy loads with the truck ( gooseneck, bumper pull, etc) thanks
I highly recommend not to use spacers I never run them. I’m sure other guys will say it’s perfectly fine but it’s not worth the risk in my opinion.
It prob was the dodge failing, not the dump kit haha, poke, nudge,
Dang dodge 😂
It’s a wood truck, do the bedliner. Plus it’ll be cool because it’ll still be the same color but more rugged and durable
Now just swap the wire connections in the controller so up is up and down is down 👍
Please install a safety chock to prevent any injuries.

Function over form always. Bedline it.
