    Make no mistake, FZ had to play all out to win this match - that was a 110% World Championship effort he just put on the line. Lebrun is a hurricane force rising - a future World Champion in the making.

      Lebrun has a better record against the Chinese National Players but he is not as consistent as his brother, Felix. Lebrun has to win against other players to get to the Chinese players. Also, Felix has not fully developed yet and will gain more power/spin to his strokes. I would say Felix has a brighter future.

    My God! They were real fireworks. When Mr. Fan was at his normal self, there was only one player who could out-slugged him. That was Ma Long. In this match, Alexis almost out-slugged Fan Zhendong. At the end, Alexis faced many match points and saved a few of them. That was championship caliber.

      They have just won a silver medal, in a championship the Chinese team has won ten times consecutively. Alexis was one point away from beating Fan Zhendong for the second time in a row while Félix has established himself has the best non-Chinese player in the rankings. Of course the best Chinese players are still far superior, but suggesting all they do is talk is ridiculous. @earseley7792

    I feel like the rule need to be specified if the receiving player has to get ready for the serving player or if the serving player has to wait for the receiving player. Alexis always serves without waiting if the opponent is ready or not.
    I would prefer the server to serve when the receiving player is ready.

    • @Gryffins90
      @Gryffins90 Před 2 měsíci +9

      No it shouldn't. The chinese are notorious to be very long between serves to dictate the timing of the game but it is against the rules to stall the game. That's why FZD got a yellow card.

    french top players are really young, yet they both already beaten the best Chinese players. Of course they still have a lot to learn, but their potential is unmatched. In a few years they will reach a level that has never been seen in this sport, and you know why? because their mindset is very different. They are powered by love, not only by hard work like Chinese players. China can make good machine players, but this guys are deeply human in their way of playing. They enjoy life, they enjoy what they do, they have personality. They are gonna show the entire world that if you want to be the best, you have to embrasse your entire self, only when you do that you can reach new heights.

    This umpires that don't understand table tennis and ever played table tennis are ruining the sport. The player needs time to think about the game to think on the opponent and oneself; table tennis is not just hitting hard nonr rushing the serve, the player needs to calm down the nervousness to think on the game, relax the legs after vigorous efforts, needs time to choose the next serve Do i do a setup serve, what he is doing now, what are my options that are more profitable to fabricate points, Do i gamble on the serve, 3rd ball attack, 5th ball attack, Do i take advantage of my opponent footwork or anticipation. Table tennis is more than hitting hard but What do this umpires know they never played table tennis in their life.

      I love that French team, but I don't see the sign that the gap between China and the rest of the world is narrowing. How often have Chinese players been number 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 in the rankings? Alexis' game is suited to play against FZD, but Félix, who is the number 6, has been absolutely crushed by Wang Chuqin for the second time. A few years ago, Germany could occasionally compete with China, and Sweden before that. Now, it seems only Korea can.

    The umpire was biased against Chinese players. In the deciding game 5, Alexis took a towel break at 5:9 without asking for approval and the umpire did nothing (check 37:03). Alexis should got a yellow card for this as players can only get towel break every 6 points without explicit approval, not at 5:9. The umpire only give Fan a yellow card for so-called non-obvious "delaying game". Check 24:36.

    It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a European team in the finals, either China versus South Korea or Japan. France represents the new power of Europe. But to be honest, I don’t like the competition style of the first two French players. Make moves without caring about how your opponent feels.

    Potential wise I think Alexis will surpass Felex again because of his handshake grip superior back hand

    • @bryanwells4063
      @bryanwells4063 Před 2 měsíci +3

      Alexis plays further from the table with more power and spin variation, Felix plays close to the table with angles and consistency, and cutting the time the opponent has to think and react in half. Both are absolutely insane in their own way but in general being able to have more power in the loop to loop game is the most helpful against the Chinese, Felix definitely lacks this power away from the table, especially on his forehand. But then again, he is still the best non Chinese player in the entire world right now. It's almost a miracle.

    pour moi, Alexis a perdu parce qu’il a préféré Jouer loin de la table après le Premier Set. Ce qui mettait FZ dans un coffre de jeux total. Je pense qu’il aurait gagné ce match, en jouant près de la table, comme il l’a fait au premier set.

    Typical of the Lebrun brothers, they rush the opponents, and as a result Fan was given a yellow card for “ delaying ”. Felix Lebrun should be given a yellow card when he slammed his blade on the table when he lost the first game against Wang.
