Wang has just lost 2 games in this tournament, two right hand penholders 😊, beated Dang 17:1, and Lebrun 11:2. He has played 3 disciplines, and reached all 3 finals. He will be the future number one for perhaps next 3 - 5 years!

The body language says it all. Felix Lebrun looks cautious even deflated from the get go of the match. He did recover in game 2 by being more aggressive. Ultimately, Felix's panholder style looks vulnerable against Wang Chuqin who hits hard and fast. He's still only 17 and is already ranked #6 in the world, so I don't want to sound too harsh on him because he's got potential to grow his game. But reality sets for Felix Lebrun today. There is still a big gap between these two players. It's clear Wang doesn't consider Felix Lebrun as a threat, not yet.

@@ziqiangwang537 unfortunately yeah, the new ball and the current playstyle favors Wang Chuqins game perfectly. its all about power, smashing shots, perfect timing and fearless, flat, fast shots. Penhold in its nature is a more spin oriented game, which the europeans refuse to move away from, so felix is able to dominate them. But against the chinese, who are revolutionizing the sport (not in the way I would like, but it is what it is), he is really struggling to play his spinny, close to the table counters. I don't think he will ever change his grip, since it would mean completely redefining his playstyle, but he will certainly need to find some new tricks or a difference in stroke that will bring more drive and power into his game, rather than using the opponents power.

WCQ made it look so easy, taking point at will, whenever he wanted. Penholders must utilize third ball attacks, close table counters and superb RPB if they wanna have a chance. Looks like the Chinese have studied him thoroughly, using the same tactics to shut him out. WCQ is taking over FZD at world #1 now, well deserved. Congrats to him.

Felix is certainly an amazing player but people forget about Harimoto who at 15 years old beat the very top chinese players here and there (Felix hasn’t even won against Ma Long’s current aged form). I think his rivarly with WCQ will play similarly to Harimoto/Fan and Fan/Ma Long in which the younger looked like the biggest threat to their dominance but the older one always remained on top. The age gap between Felix and Wang isn’t big enough to make a difference until Wang hits his early 30s and by then, a new Chinese players would’ve probably already replaced him. Not to mention that Fan is still only 27 and I don’t think his slump will last much longer.

Wang Chuqin is the true world number 1 currently and almost unbeatable.
On the other hand, many, including the Chinese fans, curious ^^, forget an important point here, Félix Lebrun is just 17 years old and has just become world number 5 and European number 1. Wan is 5 and a half years older than Felix. Where will Félix be in 5 and a half years? Maybe not world number 1 but maybe yes. This, currently no one can predict.

It's very funny that players who are the ones training and competing are not complaining as much as those keyboard warriors who don't benefit or be worst off if they watch table tennis or not nor would a player's win or lost contribute anything extra to their lives. Lmao players need to train 6 hours a day which is physically and mentally demanding, get scolded by coaches and then gets bash by fans when they lost, you think they would stay silent if they lost a match because of illegal service. Yet keyboard warriors only need to on their computer/TV and enjoy matches for free with snacks and drinks beside them complains so much. Some people really need to get a life seriously
