Fun race footage, but I feel like the post production HUD and video-game like "score" really take away from the true FPV experience.

Yeah it was a bit excessive. I think the HUD was fine, but all the pop ups/scoring was annoying

Very true, although my GoPro session has survived longer than my Mobius (3mo) or my Runcam 2 (1.5mo). Although I'm pretty rough on my quads, hard hits are common place.
The racing drones don't have gopros...

Okay race, awesome HUD, just wish it looked like that in real races. This would give fliers and spectators something to go by in order to enjoy the competition, perfect for a ground station. Cool realtime info, especially the 'collision warning' would be super benificial. Graphics were absolutely perfect for drone races, who gives a poop if they're 'dated'. Happy flying!
Stick a pair of 180° VR cameras on each drone and let us watch is this in 180° VR. It’d be AMAZING! 🤩

Rc stands for radio controlled not remote controlled.
And those are mini quads not drones! The word drone is defined as any unmanned arial vehicle so the word drone is a general term for any radio controlled vehicle that flies not specifically quadcopters!

Can someone explain to me what this is and where to go for more info and how expensive this is? Why in the world aren't the large formats of racing using this is my biggest question?????? This is way more accurate and engaging than just flying around way off course and it actually keeps people honest which is a huge deal IMO!!!

+bdseidler I crashed my quad and broke a motor. Went online to buy a replacement and I ended up with a whole new build. Oh and the replacement motor.

Am I the only one who liked the HUD overlay? Would be nice to see this again without the HUD though,and better in 4K, but still, pretty cool video.

Well, this is posted on GoPros channels so just assume anything uploaded on here is filmed with a GoPro. Judging by the quality I'd say its definitely a GoPro.
No it wasn't. These drones are built with their own lightweight cameras.
***** Yes they use light CCD cameras for the FPV system but they also mount a GoPro to record. No way they recorded from CCD camera and got that quality. I know I have a couple quads myself.
Those little racing drones can carry GoPros and fly at speed?
***** Yes of course. They're more powerful than lets say a phantom. They're made for racing so they have to be more powerful which also allows them to carry things like a GoPro and still fly fast.
