    Great work, Robert! I bought this Albion, after just earlier this month (during their sale) buying Tundra (Albion V). I think your review is spot on and it's giving me some additional appreciation for some of the Cassette Tape sounds. The other Solstice sounds are beautiful including The Callers, The Hosts, The Blaggards - Plucked and of course, The Elders. Great stuff in here. Thanks for taking your time for us going through this collection. No Albion collection is small I'm learning, and reviews/walkthroughs like yours really help people like me get more out of my purchase. Cheers!

      Thank you for that! I might have underestimated the size of the Albion orchestra which led to an hour long first impressions video 😂
      But I’m glad it could help others inform their purchase decisions! I’m still learning and playing around with the library but I’m really enjoying what it comes with.
      Thank you again, these comments are always a pleasure to read!

    It’s nice that they added EDNA in this ALBION. Because of this I might buy it. Would be nice for Spitfire to update their best Libraries with this option.
    Thank you for your video.

      I agree, it’s such a powerful engine and it would really let us create some amazing new sounds with their other libraries. Either way, I’m really enjoying this Albion!

      Each of the Albions has a fairly extensive eDNA section.

    Hi Robert, thanks for the walkthrough, it just helped me inform my purchase! For future walkthroughs, please remove the background music, it's a little jarring and confusing when trying to focus on listening to the samples. And you really don' need it, the video is interesting enough! Thanks again :)

    There seems to be some club music leaking through your walls. You might wanna get that checked out

    Great vid the only thing I would suggest is that you stop the BG Music it's distracting from the sound of the library and many may confuse that this is the sound of the library!

      Thank you! I was thinking that when I was editing, so I tried lowering the music when the libraries played but I think I’ll just keep it only for talking points rather than the whole time!

      @@RobertRodriguezMusic Don't use it when talking either. It immediately pulls listeners (me...) away from the very sound you demonstrated and are talking about. I have absolutely no idea why you'd think it's supportive of your vid.

    Great walkthrough, thank you. May I suggest not using background music? It's a bit too much to process

      Thank you! Yeah, I actually was debating on keeping or losing the background music because of that reason. Tried to lower it when Albion played but next time I’ll just keep it for like talking points or something!
      Thanks! 😄

    You mentioned that you have The OLAFOR ARNOLDS Chamber EVO. Which would you get if you didn't have any of these and only wanted one? I have been looking at Olafor Arnold Chamber EVO and Contemporary Drama Toolkit!

    • @RobertRodriguezMusic
      @RobertRodriguezMusic  Pƙed 3 lety +1

      I personally have more experience with the OA chamber grid and I absolutely love it but it is just strings (with incredibly varied articulations though).
      If you’re looking for more than strings, then the Solstice library could be a great option in terms of Evos. It was amazing to get basically a kit of everything “solstice orchestra”
      And I recently got The CDT but havent gotten to play with it too much!

    Robert, quick question (or anyone else with this Library). Did you notice some hard attack transients on some of the Presets such as "Breakthrough"? I'm curious since it seems to occur more when I'm sustaining two or three notes and then the "click" occurs on the attack of a new note. I'd be interested if someone else is experiencing that. The Presets are a lot of fun to play with. Really great content here but undesired attack transients bite. That being said, I turned Breakthrough into an orchestral hit with a quick release, and I don't experience the transient. Thanks for any thoughts on this. I look forward to more content from you.

      @RobertRodriguezMusic  Pƙed 3 lety +2

      Hey Jeff! Thank you for your kind words! I was curious about breakthrough and I definitely hear what you’re saying about that click. My guess is that since it’s a preset of the bass pizzicato patch and the Callers Evo 1 patch, that pizz is really standing out in comparison. Also, when I loaded up the breakthrough patch, there was definitely a bug because all I got was distortion at 250+ dB (wasn’t the best sound for the morning)
      I’m resetting now to double check that the patch wasn’t affected. If it wasn’t, then Im assuming it was just a choice to include that clicking pizz patch. I’m gonna try to play with the attack/ release and other settings of the pizz patch as well

    I think you should try and use the dynamics when reviewing the strings, or else they sound pretty synthy.

    the very bad and innapropriate background music stopped me from watching your video.
