highly motivated 50 yr old stroke survivor 390 days into my recovery journey making tremendous strides except with my left HH. because have been given very little hope, guidance and no instruction for any vision exercises that could stimulate and generate neuroplasticity so i created my own such as: tennis ball on a string creating a pendulum effect a few mm from vertical...seeing motion and color and subsequently feeling mentally exhausted to the point it impacts my ability to walk even cane assisted. i watch tv by focusing on multiple colored post it notes mounted 6 inches to the right of my tv, watching sports and occasionally seeing limited motion and color. desperate to find an effective therapy program that could help me. came home in a wheel chair and can now walk cane assisted, my body has responded well vision and cognitive challenges remain. 9mm midline shift from hemmoraghic ich with sah extension. very grateful to be here and will never quit on this intense journey, convinced i just need the right knowledge and therapy experiencing periodic iridescent like flashes with periodic left side motion based objects that temporarily appear slightly left of midline.

I suffer with homonymous hemianopia on my right side from a stroke eight months ago. I find that in my right periphery, instead of black,
that I have an artificial world made up of what my brain picked up as I entered this environment. As with normal periphery, it is slightly blurred but appears to be real. If I sit down next to someone they stay in the vision, even if they leave and I don't see them leaving. If riding in my car (not driving) blurred scenery passes me on the right just as if I had true vison. I find it amazing what the brain has done, and instead of complaining, I am just thankful I still have the other side, and no other problems.

Hi, 5 years ago I had a stroke and had a gemianopsia, for both eye, I was studying with shulte tables, and after 2 month training with "shulte table and I think, my gemianopsia become better, sorry for my English, I am from Russia, thank you for video)

My husband just had a stroke that mainly affected his occipital lobes and surprisingly his follow-up therapy includes nothing for his eyesight -- just motor, verbal and cognitive exercises. We found a neuro opthomogist but can't get in for 10 weeks. Like the 17 hours we spent in the ER, I am again feeling valuable time is being wasted.

Hi there, I know it’s been a while, and it’s hard to know who is who based on usernames on CZcams and so don’t know if you are already in our program or not. But just following up to see how things are with him.
I'm having my first appointment for visual rehab next week. I lost vision on the left side of both eyes. I cannot drive, but I do not see a black field or anything like that. For the most part my brain draws things in, but when something unexpected happens (like a car crossing in front of me) it looks like it's coming out of nowhere. It's been 3 years for me, and I still work as a graphic designer.

Well, it's practically impossible to teach post stroke visual field restoration on a CZcams video besides being unacceptable as a licensed healthcare practitioner. I dont know what is really going on with my right eye, 14 weeks ago eye started to see waviness vertically & horizontally, see faint yellow tint through the eye when my keft eye is shut, I see white flashes flickering from left & top of the right eye having to wear sunglasses to reduce these effects, i see shadows beside objects as trees etc at night, the other thing i get looking through both eyes is a 3d magnifying effect which also makes me feel unbalanced when i walk, an opthalmologist says i gave retina edema lesion somewhere on the ete refered me out to see a retina apecialist though not willing to go thru another rigurus eye test of what i been thru it was very harsh on me, not sure whats all going on.

Had a stroke 3 years ago and it caused homonymous hemianop(s)ia, wasn't diagnosed until months after I left hospital, in hospital they suspected hemispatial neglect but never tested my eyesight. After seeing an optometrist and getting the diagnosis I've had no further treatment, except being given dark glasses and a white stick. My hemianopia is a little different from all the descriptions I've seen. I subjectively experience a complete visual field, but if I look at an object then look slightly to the left it disappears (can still see the 'background'), if I look slightly to the right I can still see it. I think my brain is doing what it does with the blind spot, filling in the area with no input with its best guess at what is there based on information from the good side and from memory.

@@visontherapy Will do, been looking for anything that might help for the last three years. Just ordered a 30 diopter fresnel prism to see if that works, anticipating a lot of trial and error to get the desired result. Tried an app developed in the UK which is designed to help with regaining lost visual field but could never get it to work. Willing to try anything at the moment, sick of bumping into things and not being able to find things I put down 30 seconds ago.
I had a stroke more than 3 months ago in my right occipital lobe. It caused a blindspot on the left, but it's not a black thing that's blocking my vision. It's more like pixelated rainbow colors. When I'm walking sometimes I don't see people that are walking towards me and I have difficulty reading, specially with numbers. Even when i close my left eye, I still see the pixelated colors although not as much when it's open. It really doesn't help my reading even if I try to use only my right eye.

What system or tool do you use to get that print out for the true visual field areas of deficits?
Hi Rachel, a combination of specialized paper alongside equipment for a visual field test instrument such as zeiss or Humphrey
Now I am 30 years old and at the age of 4 years, I have got a head injury in the back side and from then I suffered with Migrain with aura(intense headache and visual disturbance) and Alice in Wonderland syndrome (AIWS with smaller size appearance of objects).....At the early age, I can't recognise these names properly but now I know about this confirmly......but At present time my main problem is related with visual disturbance.....for it I have done many types of check ups of my eyes....but there is no issue in eyes......because it is related from brain function, so my question is how to correct it now at the age of 30 years and solve my eyes problem related with brain function now, please advise and suggest a clear view about it, 🙏

Typically, social security does not cover vision therapy.

can someone help with an idea?
since 2 years i have out of nowhere many maaany seeing conditions (permanent death pixels on static points) and mostly small visual field losses at random (~5 times per minute)
been by many eye docs, universitys, scans etc etc etc still nothing...my "structure" is intact they cant find a clue
i still have the vision field losses (tiny ones) evey few seconds and other problems...my whole life turned upside down
i really cant even anymore...

I think I’m going threw that my vision is starting to restore I suffered a major stroke back in 2012 prior to my stroke I had retina detachment surgery when my retina started to heal the scar tissue started pulling the retina back off after the surgery I suffered a major stroke Number Perfield vision to my left side I now o don’t have a lens in my left eye I have the vision problem ur tslking about in my right eye and I have complete vision loss on my left eye my retina specialist his name is dr. I've had a stroke at 44. Went from -2 till -3.25 on my vision over night.
My side view is missing partially on my left side.

I had a stroke 11 months ago, at the age of 54. I still have a bit of a blind spot slightly right of centre in my vision, but can see right of that again.
Will I ever get my whole vision back so that I can drive again?
I have been trying different exercises and thing, but it is a slow process. I know if I blink, my eye catches what is in the little blind spot

My husband just had an eye stroke this week. He was put on intravenous steroids for the inflammation, but the eye "doctor told him that he doesn't see his eyesight getting any better! It just happened Tuesday! Does it matter that it is an eye stroke? Do you think you might be able to help him?
