Thoughts on the giggle and Ncuti’s doctor so far?
I laughed, I cried, I squirmed in terror. Altogether, a great episode! Plus I like it when Doctor who can actually teach me something like the what the first televised image was!

Donna’s wrong. Because of Bi-regeneration, both Doctor 14 & Doctor 15 are the exact same age.
At this point 15 is not an outcome of 14s ultimate regeneration. They will travel parallel paths from here out.
Maybe Doctor or 14 will not have another regeneration. Maybe the “Timelord” went with him, and 14 is now just a normal Gallifrian?
I don't recall being this excited over a new Doctor. I'm truly excited for the new chapter.
Bit of FYI
-The Toymaker is a celestial being who fought the First Doctor back in 1967. An illusion master obsessed with toys and amusement. The Toymaker has different accents because the Doctor defeated him by mimicking his voice, so he is changing accents purposely.
-Melanie Bush, played by Bonnie Langford, is a classic companion of the Sixth and Seventh Doctor. She is a computer genius, but the writers of Classic Who has let her down to a screamer so RTD has given her more character in this Special.
Side note: NPH can do 1000 more things with cards including that shuffle. He's an extremely talented magician. I'm guessing they didn't want to overfocus on it? But he could do all that with cards and more.

So from what I have gathered there is still only one Doctor, but 14 settled down and at some point in the future after this 'therapy' he regenerates into 15 at the exact point in time 14 went into regeneration.
Like, I'm all for it but lol I feel like cannon on this needs to be confirmed.

Think that is correct, 14 wasn't meant to die yet but the Toymaker messed with things, so time pulled in 15 from the future just after regenerating and corrected things, 14 was meant to heal from therapy before he dies later, so the Toymaker fucked with time too much and it bit back in the best way it could to undo him and his games. They will either merge again in the future or 14 goes on to become the Curator. Though it's implied 15 lived as 14 and is better because of it already.

Probably a spin off series with 14 and seeing his way to his proper regeneration into 15.
NPH *can* do those card tricks and more to boot. He's an accomplished magician, and his sleight of hand skill is extremely impressive.

Russell T Davies said the accents were to show that the history of the Toymaker is racist and they needed to address that not ignore it.
They gave our old Doctor (Tennant) a good ending. He gets to retire (become curator later?) on Earth while his next incarnation regenerates as an exact copy but “younger” with his own Tardis which is an exact copy of the old Tardis similar to the Doctor. The next series is called “Season 1” with that Disney budget behind it. Is a clean slate but still carrying on with the same memories. Reboot.

I have a feeling Russell will confirm this, but similar to the first season of Doctor Who, where he did bad wolf what happened with the 15th and the 14th doctor could actually be how the 15th doctor eventually regenerates into the 16th and Russell was just laying the groundwork for all the be satisfactory end at the moment of the 15th doctor regenerates which is something we haven’t seen in a long time but that’s how my ADHD brain feels about it and I will be extremely disappointed if Russell doesn’t tie everything back when the 15th regenerates

And I just realized (duh!) that the SECOND set of Tennant specials is obvious now: the Fourteen/River Song Adventures!
Clears up the canon hole of how River had seen Ten’s face before he met her and she said he looked so young, even though the Doctor’s second meeting with River is as Eleven, so-did she see him once as Ten and was just pulling a weird long con the whole Library episode, or had she seen Ten later and for some reason Eleven doesn’t let on? Now we have the answer-she saw Fourteen before Ten, so Ten did look young to her.
Fourteen having a TARDIS and the time to just do things that don’t save the universe means he can go back to visit River Song when she was alive.
There are two hanging threads with River: one, that River had experienced things the Doctor hadn’t at the point he regenerated into Twelve, and we saw the entirety of Twelve’s only interaction with River, so when did those other things happen? And two, that when River saw Ten for the _only_ time, she said he looked “so young”, younger than she’d ever seen him. That _could have_ been metaphorical (which is how most people have explained it), except she acted like she knew _and had seen_ that face, just an older version. Fourteen’s face is the older version.
So… I think we now have the solution to both questions. Fourteen in retirement can visit River and take her to the ice fair and get Stevie Wonder to sing for them.

This is not a good twist on regeneration. I’m sorry but to remove the consequences and forward momentum of regeneration in favour of maintaining nostalgia is just bad storytelling! Both Doctor’s even get their own Tardis! It would be one thing if one Doctor retained all the hurt and the other was all able to move on but is not even that clean cut. This is having your cake and eating it. If the Doctor is this powerful there are no stakes
blud it was just for this once, do you really think offing a doctor after 3 episodes would have felt good? personally, i think it was the right call and it made for a sweet ending.
I like it because when you look closely, it makes thematic sense. Normally a doctor regenerates without the chance to properly process his issues. After all he's been through, 14 gets to look 15, his future, in the eye, know for a fact that he is going to be okay, and quietly retire to eventually probably create 15 consciously. if what 15 said about doing rehab out of order was true, I think they are appearing at the same time only from our current perspective. And it shows the doctor literally leaving his burdens behind, giving us a fresh new start with the exploratory zeal we have always loved from the doctor. Represents the doctor making conscious steps forward instead of simply having an epiphany and then dying.
@@Fairygoblet But the 'next' doctor has always been a chance to let go of some hurt whilst carrying things forward. Except, this time there's a literal 14th Doctor left behind, literally representing all of that baggage, who should really help out every other episode, presumably has the ability to regenerate and his own Tardis. It just raises further questions about the infinite power of the Doctor and confuses the stakes. If we never see this Doctor again it's pointless, and if we do we're just going to wonder why he didnt lift a finger to help with numerous disasters! And doesnt this Doctor want to know who he is anymore?
This will not wear well, there should always be only one dr who. Now we have a 1st rate doctor and a second rate dr. Now all we get is when is the good dr going to replace the black one
