Who am I?
Expert singing teacher, specialising in teaching children and young adults in singing and musical theatre. She has worked with the likes of The Saturdays for MTV, on shows such as Just the Two of Us for the BBC and many more. Throughout her years of teaching she has judged in many competitions, judging Lucy Spraggan, George Samson, amongst others who have gone onto succeed in the business.
I am the founder of Vocaltutor, (founded 2003) the UK’s largest vocal and singing tuition network and now The New Foundry Studios which opened in 2013.
I have worked with BBCTV on Just the Two of Us, with many celebrities including Natasha Hamilton of Atomic Kitten, plus has worked for ITV on many children’s TV programmes including The Worst Witch, as their vocal coach.

Christina is one of the best singers to me. Great voice, so powerful and very emotional.
Her Voice Is Definitely Powerful With So Much Potential To Be Great But She’s Not The Best When Singing Live Because She Struggles To Control Her Voice & Push Her Voice Past It’s Limit.
Ughhh she's not human. Few artists can put so much emotions into a song, love!!
All her belts are harsh on the ears. They only sound good in recording but live it makes my ears bleed. She’s always powering up like she’s a dragon ball x character for simple notes like e5 and f5
MrNosugarcoating that's your irrelevant opinion though. Legendary vocalists like Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Etta James, Pattie Labelle and Aretha Franklin have all praised Christina's live singing to the heavens and many vocal coaches like Sam Johnson, Ken Templin and this youtuber have explained that they understand and appreciate her distinctive style with the distortion. It's ultimately a pop-rock soul thing. She can get messy sometimes and do too much as she is an untrained singer but that is not to dismiss her beautiful performances like walk away letterman, oh mother mtv, carpool karaoke, I love you porgy, new york with Seth McFarlane, lift me up, beautiful cnn and ellen versions, ain't no other man mtv.....I could go on forever.

Christina Aguilera is a real artist.
it's important to note that christina adds the distortion(rasp/growl) on purpose, if she wants to just sing light and soft she can. I like how this performance kinda cover all sides of her.
That distortion on her belts aren't intentional. She definitely has nodules or really improper technique.
Manny Gio wrong! She obviously doesn't have vocal nodules. Otherwise she wouldn't be able to growl as much as she does, push her voice, play with her larynx positions and generally continue her singing technique nowadays. But she still does all of them. There is no indication of her having any sign of vocal noodles or polyps!
Considering her voice is still in pretty good shape (e.g. carpool karaoke, Twice performances, new york, new york with Seth McFarlane) after having sung THREE FULL DECADES the way she does now, I think it's pretty save to say that her distortion is intentional!! She obviously found a technique that works for her.
Plus another vocal teacher named Sam Johnson actually confirmed that she knows the clean technical way of singing but chooses the distorted sound for stylistic purposes as Christina herself has explained many times btw. No wonder since her biggest idol is Etta James.

@@bubbles6853 IT'S ALWAYS A QUESTION TASTE WITH CHRISTINA. SHE LIKES THE EXTRA GRIT. YOU CAN OBSERVE 5 PERFORMANCES WHERE SHE OVER DOES IT AND THEN 5 MORE WHERE YOU CAN SEE THAT SHE IS ONE OF THE BEST TO EVER DO IT.

I have to say Bionic was a very underrated album and probably imo her best album vocally, she's not trying to hard she's embracing her soft tones that she never really high lights, lately it seems she always comes in strong or hard and I miss this era from her a lot.

It Definitely Wasn’t Underrated. The Album Was Extremely Dated & Generic As A Whole. | Not Sure Why She Choose Those Pop Songs For Majority Of The Album When They Weren’t The Best Production Wise. To Say It’s Her Best Vocally Is Extremely Delusional When Stripped Was Clearly Her Best Vocally. It’s Showed So Much Diversity In Her Voice & Was Vocally Produced To Perfection
That's the thing about xtina, inspite of her bad technique, she makes you forget that aspect of singing. She has the ability to make the crowd feel what the song is about and make them feel emotional. I love my queen.
What bad technique would that be,?
She knows what technique to use. She just chooses not too most of the time. That's just how she sings. She teaches a Master Class, and that really shows you how much she knows about technique. 😊

Tell me who else has a perfect technique while showing emotions so I can see if I feel the emotions like I feel the struggles when I listen to Christina?

How Is Her Voice “Most” Unique? Her Style Of Singing Is Very Common Compared To Her Vocal Influences That Can Be Easily Named Based Off How She Sings. Her Tone Is Great & Very Distinctive Because It Holds A Lot Of Power When She Sings Within Her Limit

Yepm her falsetto, mid range and headier mix are beautiful.

I think there are few artists who can really tell a story with their performances like Christina can. She really does connect with the lyrics.

Sia is so iconic by many things, one of them, composing and writing this song, and the fact her demo is mind blowing.

I wish you reacted to "I'm Ok" live from the same show, it's such a beautiful heartfelt ballad, one of her best ever. This was good but "I'm Ok" is more intense, introspective and personal. You can feel the pain through her voice, it's unbelievable.

Not the biggest Christina fan, but love this song & performance. Don't think it's a coincidence that Sia's songwriting brings out the best in Christina & Rihanna (Diamonds) who seem to mimic parts of her tone. Plus Gwen's unreleased Start a War, which I wish we could hear a studio version for. :-(
??? Nahh Christina was singing like this WAAY before Sia was even a thing. "I'm OK" and "walk away" from the early 2000s are great examples. But yea whenever Sia or Linda Perry collaborate with Xtina they create magic.
@@jonestexx4022 Sia is a "thing" since 1997 and Christina was/is a big fan of her since Zero 7 era. :) Even Christina admitted in an interview that she wanted that softly yet powerful style of singing for her album Bionic. And maybe I am biased but the songs written (ok, co-written, but they all 'scream' Sia's style) by Sia are the most beautiful from that album.

Xtina was a little sick in that performance tho and thus a little off. I don't think she'd like it especially considering she's a vocal coach. I would rather have her react to Xtina singing "I love you porgy" or "beautiful" cnn version!! Magnificent performances that I believe are more suited to react to. I think she'd enjoy them very well.
