Mariah Carey's voice is instrument. So it sounds incredible when it is live. That is why people doubt is is live or not.
I remember when her first album came out, and it was available on vinyl or cassette, later on, CD format - and I heard "Vision of Love" on the radio. I already loved Whitney Houston and I thought it was her song. After the presenter said - new singer, Mariah Carey, debut album, etc. I remember collecting my pocket money to buy her cassette - it was "expensive", I was 14, and hers was the very first album that I bought, original, not copy :D I still love all of the tracks from that album, she is still the best.
Vision of love. Some part of it it made me think that whitney has a new song but why i didn't know about that. But at the end of the song i repeated it so many times because i just felt i had never heard whitney sang like this before.

@@bartek8406 that one is debatable. They were both great. There were some songs that Mariah did that Whitney could never do and songs that Whitney did that Mariah couldn't. They both inspired generations to sing and both have received many accolades. However, Mariah is the most successful out of the two. Mariah has called Whitney the voice many times in her career because she's humble and will never disrespect her. Whitney has never reciprocated the same gesture just "She's a great singer".

I don’t care what anyone says, Vision of Love is THE most iconic song out of her discography. There’s not a Mariah Carey song more recognizable!
Also, it’s one of the few songs she’s never lipped as far as I know.
Side note: This compilation didn’t have Make It Happen or One Sweet Day so it’s 100% irrelevant to me lol
Well to be honest it was an iconic song and debut, but due to popularity, One Sweet Day, or We Belong Togehther are more well known....
Shook Queen realistically, all I want for Christmas is by far her most known song. But her most iconic song when people think of her is either vision of love or hero

The America the beautiful was live but it was recorded and dubbed which is why it may not seem “live” but i was there in person she sang the song twice to get the perfect recording but it was definitely LIVE

Mariah is a legend . I don't care who came before or comes after. No one can come close to this woman's talent.
I see Mariah's name, I pause everything else I am doing and click on it. Then I like and share my initial joy. Before grabbing a seat to enjoy while in awe. Greatest vocalist ever. She might make a few mistakes here and there or lip sync once in a while for whatever reason; no one is perfect we're all human. But at her best she's untouchable. Those are the moments the fans live for. We know no one has, can, nor will ever be able to do it like her in human existence. Thanks again vocal coach for making my morning. #happyfan.

Mariah is a hard one because even though she is absurdly talented, she lip syncs alot. I love that you're honest about what you perceive to be live vs lipped!
She rarely lipsyncs from 90s till 2010, she only lipsyncs alot after that due to nodules, but the only song she swore to never lip is vision of love which btw still sound fantastic
She isn't the singer that lip sych the most and the most ironic is that even though her voice isn't at her prime anymore she sings the most live these last years
She sings live 80-85% of the time even now
She has vocal nodules, which I understand can damage your voice, so that is probably why she has started lip synching as of late.
I wasn't trying to hate on her! I think she is irreplaceably talented, I just know there are lots of documented examples of her lip syncing.
Her mother is an Irish classically trained Opera singer. She helped her with range and control.

Her caution tour has some intresting highlights and is where she tends to move around on stage. Im guessing she has developed stage fright over the years when it comes to international big events.

Mariah does sometimes lipsync on live TV but almost never on her concerts. She did an awesome job in Singapore singing My All (near the end of 2018) and on her Caution tour she's been delivering great vocals!

Indeed Queen Mariah Carey Is The Greatest Singer Of All Time. On from 3:20, It's really live. I have waited for every peformance Queen Mariah Carey does during her prime. And now watching you and all the others who's making reactions on Mariah Carey's Live Singing really makes me cry. She is the Queen of Voice, Singing, Vocal Techniques, Whistle Register, Mellisma, Songs, Music, SongWriting, Christmas, Christmas Songs, etc.. I've been asking people to do reactions on Queen Mariah Carey's 'Vanishing' Live & 'If It's Over' Live' and at last people & vocal coaches are doing it. 💖😊.
And to realize it was like a full orchestra & band that's so loud. It's really difficult to project your clear, loud, controlled and on tune voice with that type of very loud music. And Queen Mariah Carey does not and never have used any earpiece whenever she sings live like Miss Celine D.. 🎄💖❄🙏👼.
