    Also have had to just grab it with a big a pair of pliers and squeeze it to oblivion and turn, what a mess that was but it worked

      For sure…. I’ve used a ton of methods but placing the band at the strongest part of the canister has always worked since I figured it out and it’s a lot less mess lol!!
      My older sport bikes I used to punch screw drivers in top and bottom and place a pry bar as leverage between the two screw drivers and twist em off that way lmao… messy though

    I had to get one of those steel band style wrenches and it was still tricky to fit it in place. Came off like a charm though!

      Best ones to use are the actual rubber strap wrenches… there’s usually enough stretch where it won’t crush the can.

      If you have a metal filter wrench… slide it close to where the oil filter screws onto the housing… that portion of the filter is more reinforced than the end of the can. Just be patient and keep constant tension on it and the seal will break

    does your bike not have an oil cooler mesh or did you take it off?
