useless tool if the filter gets stuck , it happened to me today infact, it was just slide over the filter couldn't get it to losen, finally I saw a video on youtube where the guy made two holes in the cap and used machined self tapping screws and screwed it to the filter, thank goodness for his video it saved my day, because I was stuck with my bike empty from oil and a punctured filter .
Once you get the Harley filter off, but the k&n and never screw the new filter on as tight as harley service techs do and you will never have a hard time again.

Only supposed to go hand tight and a little turn after, and k&n filters are junk
I just cut mine instead of wasting time to order or waste time and 10$ at Harley
