- I was so sick and tired of my side panels on my Victory popping of because of the power commander and auto-tuner under the side panels. So, I got crafty and sawed off the tabs that hold the panels on, bought some epoxy, magnets and gloves. "Don't forget the gloves." And, I went to work. As you can see, the magnets do a wonderful job of holding the panels on and the panels are easier to put on and take off. Hopefully I was able to help you ladies and gentlemen with a little tech tip to make your ride hassle free. CHEERS.

Have had two XC bikes & never had a problem with these. I think it’s more operator air not lining up pegs before you give them a good smack and push making sure they click.
I was having an issue with them falling off. Specifically, the left one.
@@BigBlackCorvette ok good to know
Yes especially my left... I've got a Power Commander 5 stuffed under there, and it holds on by a thread.
I'm definitely doing this, thanks for the tip. I found black ones on Amazon. Also our bikes are almost the same color..custom. LOL. Looks like we are both Vets too...too funny.
That’s a good tip! Thanks!
Haven't had an issue with my Magnum yet but I did buy some extra grommets when I had the chance. Another idea I heard of was putting a small piece of shrink tubing over the nipples. Tightens them right up.
I did the shrink wrap thing, and it lasted for a bit. I am now probably going to use quick releases on them.
My brother thank you for the great idea. I just have one request. show me that it actually works for the left side and I will be convinced. My left side cover has been the ban of my existence, and my right side gives me nooo problem anyway. Could you do a video showing everyone the left side which seems to give the majority of side panel problems for the entire XC family please my friend. your the man
I will gladly show you what I have done.
Thank you my man
@@CLDcycleservices Glad to help my Brother.
I will have to remember this for my Cross Roads. Another tip for the tape is to use a heat gun and make sure that the mating surface is warmed up a bit (not hot, just warm). Love the decal!!
Thank you. I am injured from VA hospital malpractice so, I can't ride for who knows how long. Hence the lack of uploads.
Outstanding idea man, I hate those stock prongs
Enjoyed the video; thanks for the information and the link. Will definitely use it!
Haven't had any issues with my gunner. But loving the idea, thank you
You bet.
Hey Jay! Have you noticed any issues with the ABS on your gunner?
@@sam.abadyah mine don't have abs
@@jaydixon9170 I gotcha. Is your ride affected without having abs? I want a highball or gunner but don’t wanna be limited without abs
@@sam.abadyah to be honest I never had a bike with abs.
Good tip. I was just thinking of a sulolution for this a couple hours ago. Thanks!
Hmmm, I`ve never had a problem with my side covers on my XCT. But great idea! I Love the deep rich red color of your bike, Beautiful! Enjoy! 😎
I have had them just pop off and damn near hit the pavement several times.
Wow!
Great idea! So 3 magnets for each mounting position? For a total of 18 ??
Smart! Thanks for sharing!
More details on the magets installation please
What type of magnet did you get. What kind of glue did you use? Thanks for your help.
I used small neo dynium magnets(amazon), and I used jb weld epoxy to make them stay.
Thanks
Ride an old 02 victory v92 with 20 k bought it when had 16k great bikes very low maintenance
Great idea!
Haven't had this problem with the highball in my 5 years of ownership. Good idea nonetheless
Yeah, I miss my Highball.
Can’t find the rubber grommets anymore, may have to try this?!?!
Another trick to used if the 3M tape is not doing the trick is, super glue and baking soda mixed together on the magnets and the mating surface. Make sure to scuff the mating surface.
Napa has the grommets
I might have to try this, on my xct, do you have a link for the magnets
I'll send it to you when I get around this morning.

You could have metal ones would rather have plastic one come with metal pins v92 not much lite plastic on this one
