  • Here you will see what is involved to replace the Panoramic sunroof motor on a 2007 Mercedes-Benz E550 which is a W211 Chassis. This procedure should work on most Mercedes-Benz from this era.
    We got the used parts at pick n pull for a great price. So check it out! I have been using them for years. (I am in no way affiliated or sponsored by them)

    In most cases all you have to do is add washers to the bolts that secure the motors in their rubber bushings. As the rubber wears the motor starts to slip out of its correct position. When the washers are added the motor is pressed further back into the drive unit. Now the gears are full seated and aligned. So if this happens to you, start here cause it only costs a few dollars from a hardware store and an hour or two of your time. This easy fix has numerous write ups on the web and videos here. Definitely worth a shot cause it could save you several hundreds of dollars over buying a complete new motor assembly.

    Wow looks really easy. I just got a 2004 e55 with a pano roof that it's sunroof motor is stripped and my Mercedes buddies told me forget it, that it'll cost around $1000 to fix and you have to remove the whole headliner, ...this looks like a few short hours and a quick motor swap, thanks for the vid

      @@adiltasawar3569 did on mine e63 2007 and it works but you better put the 3 washers as well to get the motor perfectly up, as @Garrett Dodson said upper

    Can I do the same as the reverse of the motor shaft in my W221 - 2006, because I have the same forward sound click.

    I have a 2006 w211 E55 with a panoroof, I replaced the motor as you did in the video. My motor was also separating. I bought a brand new OEM unit from MB Parts and replaced it but I am having the same issue with the clicking noise. Is there a reset that I should be doing? Should I remove the motor and push the panoroof to the closed position? Before I replaced the motor the sunroof opened and closed with no issues until the motor separated.

      reset the pano roof system by holding each position (open, close, tilt up and tilt down) for 5 sec and it will reset

    Does this motor run both the pano roof and the cloth curtain that retracts into the middle of the roof? My pano roof will open/close (some popping) but the curtain is stuck open.

    • @MercedesTech
      @MercedesTech  Před 2 lety

      I believe it depends on the model but I think on this particular car with the pano roof, there are two separate motors for the shade and glass

      I am wondering the same thing. I have an 07 E350 when push the button i hear the motor skipping but sometimes the front curtain will retract but not the glass and my rear curtain stuck open when i push that button nothing happens

    i have 2010 c300 and with the one sunroof, it does tilt and goes down, but will not go back to fully open the roof , what’s the cause of that?

    • @MercedesTech
      @MercedesTech  Před 3 lety

      Usually the same issue being the motor, but alway possible there is a track piece broken. Best to start with the motor usually.

    Cant call it "replacement" if your not doing it...That more of a removal.

    you skipped the part when you actually take out the motor/disconnect the drive cables/and reinstall motor. All you did was show how to take the headliner down. whats up?

    It's not the motor it needs a washer on the first T-20 screw you showed you waste time
