One thing that has held up in the first transformers movie is the CGI, it still looks impeccable, truly ground breaking for 2007.
So important that they nailed it the first time
Honestly the cgi in this looks better than most movies that come out today
It had been 30 years since I'd watched the Transformers cartoon as a kid, and I immediately recognized Peter Cullen's voice the moment Optimus Prime first spoke a word in this movie. It's amazing how such small things can stay with you your entire life.
Frank Welker was Megatron in the '80s Cartoon. Do you mean Peter Cullen?
@@shukilevyandbrookesheildsl2638 Yep. That. That's what I get for typing a comment while also thinking about work.
I do remember the audience just gushing at hearing that voice, first thing. Little breaks of applause here and there. Even I was shocked.
Male Transformers RULE!! ..........Girl Transformers DROOL!! 🤣
I was so happy when I heard his voice and when he says one shall stand and one shall fall
I couldn't tell you how many times I watched Transformers 1 as a kid. It holds up incredibly well to this day.
Still one of my favorites.
Gotta love the 1st Transformers! You were especially funny this episode. Good on ya, Minty!
Peter Cullen's voice for Optimus Prime is like liquid gold. Too perfect.
I remember him doing Venger's voice in the 80s kids cartoon series Dungeons & Dragon.
Steve Jablonsky's music score is simply fantastic.
Venger is awesome. Darth Vader meets Satan.
You like gay drugs
I've always liked this one. It's definitely the best of the transformers' movies. Silly, explosive, fun.. pure popcorn.
Remember that Ernie Hudson auditioned for the role of Winston on The Real Ghostbusters cartoon, but they didn't think he was right for his OWN character.
The sound effects and the score is what made this movie so good
I am a HUGE Transformers fan. I managed to coordinate 26 people via text and email, so we could see it on opening day. We took up 2 rows at the theater. Damn good fun.
"I am Optimus Prime, and I send this message to any surviving Autobots taking refuge among the stars: We are here. We are waiting."
The first live action film was a lot of fun, but the sequels got more and more disjointed. I'm just glad they have improved starting with Bumblebee.
Yes!!!!
I remember when this hit the local theatre, I absolutely skived off of work and went to watch it. I have always been a fan of Transformers, and still have the original Soundwave from the 80's.
I'm not that surprised that one of the early ideas was to have the robots be silent. For the first chunk of the movie, no single robot said a word until Barricade attacked Sam. So both the autobots and decepticons were both equally frightening for a while.
What the heck is an automobot
@@Spleenzoriothe protomotagonists of the films.
@@Spleenzorio darn spell Check. I will fix it post haste
It really checks out as well when you see how little the transformers actually talk, like if you’re not named Optimus, bumblebee, or sentinel prime, you will at best get 20 seconds worth of dialogue before your demise. It’s logical given how the transformers are more spectacles than characters in the bayverse, but man does it make it rough to think about what makes them interesting as characters other than “ironhide is cool because he’s the weapons guy”
@@robthepuppet7007 I like Blackout mainly because he's a helicopter and has his own little friend.
Fun Fact: at least in the USA, stores ordered Transformers movie toys quite modestly, as previous toy lines for Spider-man and Superman movies of the time didn't sell well, but the TF toys sold out fast once the movie came out, leading to over a month of bare shelves as stores and factories scrambled to get a new production run of toys to the consumers.
I remember watching this in the theater and being on the literal edge of my seat the whole time.
I loved this movie when it first came out; I am a transformers fan, but I think with this movie, the success was purely because of the novelty. It was the first live action transformers we got and so it was incredible, but then the more I watched it, the more I started hating the fact that too much of the focus was on the humans. It was particularly the fact that the humans did too much to defeat the decepticons and it kind of made the autobots seem a bit useless. Like I think Bonecrusher is the only decepticon in the first one to be killed solely by an autobot. Even Megatron gets pelted by a couple of Josh Duhamel's grenade rounds before Sam finishes him. All Optimus does to megatron is trips him up.
The problem with this movie franchise has always been the focus on the human characters but the first movie works because that focus is spread out among those human characters.
you don't spend all your time with sam who is kinda immature and awkward and his teenage problems ,instead you get other characters who add different perspectives ,add some humor and in the case of the military balance out the humorous aspects of the movie.
100%. I thought the same about the humans. I resented Bay for it. Also how he made Shia scream so much. And Megatron lost to this kid. Ugggghhh, at least if Sam was a Powermaster, it would have made more sense. Most of the Decepticons are worthless too. They need to focus more on the bots and less on the people.
That's why i think rotb is better for this aspect and others aspect too
@@TedofBrownsbh they really should of went with the video game ending where Optimus defeats megatron ( or so we think for now) and Sam gives Optimus the allspark. Megatron then springs back up for a surprise attack in mid air. Optimus at the last moment catches megatrons mace and pulls megatron to him at the same time driving the allspark into his chest
Frank Welker did voice Megatron in the video game adaptation
Man I can remember when I was very young when I first watched Transformers back in 2007. It has a few flaws like some weird humor, the humans have ups and downs, and so on. But I had a freaking blast watching it and I will always love it.
💯
Me too people went nuts when this came out 16 years ago and still not only one of the best summer blockbusters of all time but one of the best things we watch in our childhood and it's one of my favorite movies.
I appreciate you guys because if it weren't for you loving this movie, and buying all the toy lines attached to the movies, we wouldn't have the amazing Transformers toys we have today.
@@TedofBrowns Yeah.
Bay famously wanted George Clooney to voice Optimus Prime. The fans weren't having it and Peter Cullen announced his return as Prime at Comic-Con. Also the original concept art pushed the kinematics too far and Hasbro said that they were trying to make $25 toys not $250 toys. So the artists dialed back the details on the robots.
#11. I was already adulting when the cartoon's were aired and had never saw them but I knew the name "Optimus Prime and Megatron", flash forward to 2007 and I had been taking care of my father for 2 years who was dying and I spent 24/7 with him until I got a break one day as a nurse showed up to give me a break, so I went to the Movies to take my mind off of things. Transformers was the new hit movie so I went to see this. I made it thru the entire movie up to the credits when I got a phone call that my father had passed away. So I have watched this Movie about 25 times, everytime I watch it, it reminds me of my father.. 😥
10:10 To be fair Frank didn’t sound menacing as Megatron until Transformers Prime. Let’s not act like G1 Megatron had a menacing voice.
Well I actually didn't know that you called it Hungry Jack's. You learn something new every day.
This was one movie that got me into cars and truck/semi truck.
Yeah, I still remember the Burger King promotions in 2007. The golden age of CZcams. Hell, they even spawned an animated series that was made by the same guys behind the 2003 Teen Titans cartoon.
If I hear "prime directive," then I think of Star Trek. 😊
No matter how much time people hate on the Transformers movies, i will always appreciate these movies.
I remember seeing the first Transformers movie I. The theater and being so excited 😂
The only decent bay transformers flick. Far from perfect but still fun.
no, he sucks and always has and ruined transformers.
Frank Welker used his original G1 Megatron voice during his audition which did not fit the tone of the movie. Had he used the Megatron voice that he used Transformers Prime, Frank would've gotten the role!
Which he did in the 3rd and 4th movie
He uses a deep voice for a lot of characters
If you played the PS2 Transformers Movie game where Frank Welker voiced Megatron, it did not sound good for that Megatron.
@@primekiller5729 That's more from the lack of mixing to give it that distorted synth eco than anything.
I remember being 11 when the 1st Transformers came out, keep in mind I wasn't a Transformers fan when I first saw the movie, but that all changed after I left the theater, I honestly was blown away by the 1st movie, it was like I had never seen a movie like it before
I freaking love this movie
I was starting adulthood in the 80s but remember taking stumbling into the Transformer cartoons and enjoying them. Thanks for this review because I appreciated the 2007 movie enough to have the DVD to periodically take myself back to another time.
When we worked on this in VFX, a fun note, the Transformers rarely transform the same way twice. They always need to be sliding in or jumping or moving a different way each time so the transformation is always fresh.
that's really stupid
I noticed this too since I was the VFX supervisor in charge of you.
I liked it when i first saw it. I felt like a kid again and when Optimus prime showed up and talked the whole theater clapped
This is the intro to the franchise, I owe my CZcams channel, friendships, my collection, my knowledge of the bigger franchise like G1, the unicron trilogy, and other things, and collection to this first movie. I love it and always will.
I consider this to be one of the last pre-Marvel greats.
I've always said Transformers felt like The Avengers before Avengers. Looking back, this movie has alot of what people liked about the MCU when it was up and coming.
@@Beforezzz Yeah, the difference is that the MCU sucks, and is a cancer upon the face of culture, whereas this, the AVP movies and all of those LOTR wannabes that came and went over the years at least offer us something to go on.
@@Peak_Aussieman A bit of an extreme take there but I would definitely agree with you now in its current state. The MCU before the Infinity Saga concluded was actually great. Even if superheroes and flashy cgi isn't your thing, you'd have to be pretty stubborn to deny what it accomplished.
10 Things You Didn't Know About The Orville
What is The Orville?
@paulcowlishaw an amazing tribute to *Star Trek*
I was a huge Transformers fan and I loved the live action movie, and I thought the human element was excellent.
I thought adding in the military was a no brainer as I couldn’t envision mankind’s defenses not engage with destructive robots from another world.
My biggest problem with these movies was there was never a consistent story being told.
I think the 1st Transformers was very fun, Bumble bee really should have been a Bug though.
I agree. Several of the vehicle forms would have been better if they hadn't redesigned them, but Megatron's was an improvement.
Agree...I vaguely remember that GM had just come out with the new retro design camero so it was probably more about product placement.
Just like the following movies akd how actors got, I LOVEDthis movie.. everything else is pure cheap garbage
Still the best of the Bay Transformers movies. The effects are still amazing. Cannot believe they didn't win the Oscar. How did they lose to those stupid polar bears?
As someone who grew up on the original; personally really enjoyed the 2007 transformers live action movie. It's the sequels I had a problem with. Sam was supposed to be spike. The sequels should've had him more like the animated series and evolve him as a soldier type. Leave the whole NEST plot out or just call them GIJOE. So the whole GIJOE crossover about to happen has basically already happened. Just with a name change. And Bumblebee was originally supposed to be a VW bug. VW told Bay they want nothing to do with a war movie property. That's how that scene where Bumblebee pulled up next to the bug came from. It's also why you see a majority of the cars General Motors.
During the finale of Dark of the Moon, I kept thinking; "how epic would this have been if NEST was G.I. Joe?"
@@cinemaarts8795 I'm curious on why they didn't just make them GI-JOE
@@yoda908I’m gonna have to guess it’s the fact there were already Gi Joe movies coming around at the time. They couldn’t use the name Gi Joe so they had to use NEST instead
I am totally an 80s kid and I’m not afraid to admit it but when I first heard Optimus primes Voice and I cried it was like going back to my childhood. I loved the first movie.
Peter Cullin wasn't originally supposed to be voicing Optimus Prime in this movie. Then there was a fan backlash, and then they decided to go ahead and have Cullin voice Prime.
11) The best version of Transformers since this movie was not the live-action sequels, but the animated series 'Transformers : Prime'. (2013-2015). As an 80s kid who grew up on G1 it's great seeing Optimus and Megatron depicted so well (again voiced by Cullen and Welker) as well as old school classics like Starscream, Ratchet, Wheeljack, Ultra Magnus, Soundwave, Shockwave, and others. The voice cast was top-notch including legendary sci-fi names like Clancy Brown, Ernie Hudson, Jeffrey Combs, Michael Ironside, George Takei, and John Noble. Really struck a great balance between the G1 lore and the concepts established in the live-action movies, I can't recommend it enough.
Only three seasons though right? Definitely worth watching.
@@artmpowers Yes, it was only 3 seasons. The pacing is very efficient with introducing and developing characters, then bringing them to a satisfying conclusion. I only wish the live-action movies had been so well-written.
Yeah that show was great.
I remember sitting in the cinema (for a different movie) when the trailer came on for this, and the very first sequence was the stars flying over the screen on the paramount logo with the Ktschu tschu schu schu sound playing with each star as they appeared. As an 80s kid big into the transformers, my hype level went straight to 10 from that moment onwards. I still can't remember the movie that I saw that day, but do remember walking out still buzzing about a live action transformers movie.
I didn't miss the bus, the bus missed me by 20 years. While kids of the 1980s got Transformers, we had to make do with the Banana Splits and Captain Pugwash. Life isn't fair.
Thankgod Minty doesn't do sponsors. That makes him pretty awesome. Never sell out Minty
As an old school transformers fan I loved this movie. I really don't understand the criticism they get. Yes, it's a fun action movie with a ton of explosions and fights. It's supposed to be. The only issue I had is that they turned Bumblebee into a high performance sports car. He's one of my favorite characters, and the entire point of his story arc is that he's a little VW bug but has enough heart and courage to get in there and fight with the best of them. Additionally when the first one transformed on screen the entire theater cheered.. it was simply perfect and a dream to see it in "real life".
Writers Kurtzman and Orci were in a yahoo Q&A lying their butts off about the amount of time for the TFs, Orci's age, and Bay's enthusiasm.
As the only one in my family who was a huge Transformers fan (I went to see the animated movie twice by myself in theaters), I was surprised when most of my family wanted to see this. My dad almost never went to the movie theaters went & he loved it. He liked it so much, he went to see the second one in theaters as well. He didn't see the third one though. LOL!
I really was never into the cartoon, but really liked the movie adaptation. The special effects and the explosions were awesome! The characters were so much better brought to life on the big screen and you could almost imagine an advanced alien being visiting our planet! Doesn’t seem so crazy lately does it? Are transformers coming to save us? We really could use them, there’s an evil force that threatens the entire planet. We should never underestimate the evil and power of this rogue government. It will lie and manipulate, this corrupt system will stop at nothing, it’s greed knows no bounds! Transformers where are you? Lmao 🤣 who knows maybe the making of the next movie. Thanks again Minty! Take care mate!!
Been a fan since the 80's. The 1986 film will always be number 1 to me but that's my own perspective being a child when it came out and loving Transformers. It was clear to me that Bay was not a fan of the franchise but thank the gods Kurtzman and Orci were both there to make sure there was something of the franchise left. I remember hating the fact Frank Welker was passed up for Hugo Weaving. Even though Weaving hated the role as much as Bay didn't want to direct at first, I thought he made a pretty decent Megatron. Dare I say to any fans reading this, he actually inspired Frank Welker to do a more gritty voice like in Transformers: Prime. I remember being one of those fans saying "Bay ruined the franchise." Yet in the years since, Hasbro made thousands off of me in the giant collection I built. Truth be told, I really did like this movie. It had it's problem, but it was a much better story than the 4 films that followed. And Minty, if you're reading this, Bumblebee film is better than the 2007 Tranformers. Maybe it's equal with Rise of the Beasts, but it's up in the air. But definitely not the best one, but it does hold a place in my heart. Anyway, good job with the review as always. Thanks for all your hard work! Now, Transform and Roll Out!
I really like Hugo Weaving, and I wonder why if he hates so many roles, why does he take them.
Another interesting facet of this movie is how instrumental it was to the introduction of the fifth generation Chevrolet Camaro.
The Bumblebee toy I had as a child was a VW bug, but obviously the movie used the concept car of the new Chevy Camaro (way before the vehicle was available for sale to the general public).
This movie basically served as a two-hour commercial for the new Camaro. There was almost a decade-long gap when Chevy didn’t even produce a Camero, but it is widely acknowledged the impact this movie had on the successful launch of the reboot, for which the same basic visual architecture still exists with the sixth gen still on sale now.
the first transformers movie for me was like a dream come true
we were watching a 3d animated movie (I don't even remember what was it), and I noticed some details were so well made, so lifelike, I started tinking: 'man, if they can make stuff this good looking, you know what would be pretty awesome? A transformers movie'. A few weeks later, boom, transformers movie trailer.
I was so hyped watching it I don't even remember blinking once.
That Robocop reference hits double when you know that apart from prime directives being a part of his software there's also a miniseries called RoboCop: Prime Directives that was released in 2001.
Yep and it was shit
fun fact - Rachel Taylor is from my home town of Launceston Tasmania, it was a big deal that one of our locals got to star in such a big franchise. My Dad happened to be her teacher for a short time before her acting career took off as well :)
Thank you for doing this video. This movie is definitely the best one out of the Bayformers as my friends and I call them. Megan Fox is definitely my favorite actress in this movie. I’m also a big fan of Arcee but her design for this movie looks disappointing to me, so I respect that they chose not to use her, but I was delighted to see her in Rise of the Beasts this year!
I would love to see a Mikaela/Arcee team up. Are you listening Paramount!!! lol.
I took my son to see this. He and I had watched all the cartoon series Transformers together.
It was a thrill. I loved hearing the old voices of all of them.
Same here. I loved the cartoon as a kid and bought the entire series on DVD. My son was 4 and had become obsessed with watching them so he super hyped for it.
only one voice actor reprised his role. what the fck do you mean "the old voices of ALL of them"
I remember while watching this movie in the theater and thinking the movie was really good and one of the best I'd seen in a while. The suspense and mystery building at the beginning was really well done. That is until the Transformers spoke, and Jazz started breakdancing. The rest of the movie is kind of dumb, but God, Megan Fox was hot.
The autobots and decipticons always had a broad range of personality though. Funnily enough, the scene where they all reveal themselves is when the movie starts to feel more faithful.
I LOVE the OG Bay movies. If nothing else, he makes GREAT action scenes. I truly miss them.
excause me are you the tooth fairy
i think he is
Great moment in the movie 😅
That part was super cringe
@@pascoharmonica8560 🤣 best line in the movie the little girl is so cute
Gotta love the 1st Transformers! You were especially funny this episode. Good on ya, Minty!
Awesome video as always! I do have to correct you on one little thing.
The military element was not included by Michael Bay himself. The military were already included into the first draft of the script written by John Rogers. This draft was written before Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman were hired to (re)write the definitive version of the draft and they were hired long before Michael Bay was hired to direct the movie. So they never had a conflict about this with each other.
What did happen was that in that initial draft the military were basically written in as comic relief. The Decepticons attacked a military base and were unable to make even a single dent to the Decepticon forces and this would play out throughout the whole script. When Michael Bay came on board, he changed that into making the military seem far more competent. Due to his previous relation with the military with his earlier movies the U.S. military would eventually get involved with the movie. And that's how we got the military the way they are in the movie.
Good to know. Would have really sucked if the military was portrayed in that way. It would have been completely disrespectful to the men and women who serve.
I still remember going to a midnight screening of this with a good friend in college.
YESSS!!!---Thank you for making this one. I remember seeing "Transformers" at my local dollar theater just before it left and I was absolutely blown away!!! My brothers grew up in the 80s playing with the toys and watching the cartoons and I watched the reruns in the 90s. You do the math. And seeing it was directed by Michael Bay, took me back when I went to see "ARMAGEDDON" with my friends and that's all I can remember. Like millions of young boys I fell in love with Megan Fox and it was her truly breakthrough role. The first Transformers will always remain a special classic to me and a lost time when Americans truly enjoyed adventure disaster movies and it was fresh and new!!! Optimus Prime and the Autobots are like superheroes to me and I love superhero movies. THE SHOWDOWN BETWEEN OPTIMUS AND MEGATRON WILL ALWAYS BE FUCKING AWESOME!!!!:)
Definitely went to go see this back then oh what a time
Oh, how I waited for this to be released!
Had lots of Transformers toys as a kid.. And, yeaa... I even went and bought Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Barricade when the first line of movie affiliated toys came out. Them three still upon a top shelf of the living room.😁 Barricade was so badass. Too bad he (of course) had to lose the fight in the movie..
The most disappointing in the movie for me though, was Megatron not transforming into the classic Walther P-38 pistol.. Which though was understandable.
Sam's parents though.. So effin hilarious!!!😂👍🏻
Still enjoy this movie 🎥 after all these years 👍👍
I grew up on Transformers, the cartoon movie shattered my childhood seeing Optimus die. Seeing the first trailer for this had me stand up in a crowded theater and yell out YES!
Of all the Bay(god help us) adaptation. 1 and 2 are actually watchable and semi enjoyable.
Had somebody who knows how to direct and was more character driven then explosions(yeah I’m talking about Bay). It would have been a much better movie.
If it was actually done by Ridley Scott or Travis Knight. Legend!!!
Fun Fact:
The novelizations of the first two Transformers films were done by
Alan Dean Foster, who wrote the 1976 novelization of *"STAR WARS"* (as a ghostwriter for creator George Lucas), the first three *"ALIEN"* films and *"ALIEN: Covenant",* and came back to
the STAR WARS film franchise with his novelization of *"The Force Awakens".*
Meanwhile, the novelization for the 3rd Transformers film: *"Dark of The Moon"* was written by Peter David.
I saw it at the theaters, one of a few movies I've seen where people clap at the end.
like sheep, they wouldnt if they watched the originals when it was new. F M-bay
I was kind of shocked by Matrix turning a 20 yrs old movie, but damn, this one has 4 years to achieve the same 😂
This movie was perfect too me! I knew what I was getting into. It did it’s goal. Excite me n make me smile.
The movie bumblebee was the true original fans movie, in my opinion. Pertaining to the way, the transformers were designed on screen. I wish all the movies were done in the same vein.
The first Transformers movie is fine for a popcorn flick. The biggest problem is the robot design changes so that in combat, one almost never knew who was fighting who. After that, the movies became worse and worse IMO.
hahahahah yeah, yer right! Im working my way thru all five of them now on BD. Im on 'Transformers: Age of Extinction', and quite honestly , Im not sure how I stayed awake when I saw this in theaters. I dread sitting thru 'the last knight' again....
I'm surprised you didn't mention the trailer for Cloverfield! That was so memorable that it came on just before the movie. Hell, I couldn't stop thinking about it while trying to watch Transformers. Am I the only one?
Great commentary and video, Minty. As an old school 1980s transformers G1 fan, I will admit that i dislike the robot designs (at 1st) for the 2007 live action movie but understood why the robots were designed for the alien/ cybertronian like aesthetic concept. I grew to appreciate the robot designs as the TF movie franchise had upgraded the designs to look more human like appearance. I find it ironic that the TF movie franchise have listened to the fans wanting the redesigned robots that really look like TF G1 cartoon for the Bumblebee movie franchise..keep up the great work Minty👏🏿👏🏿
The opening scene in Bumblebee rocked!!!!
I still love transformers! That movie aged really well.
From what I remember Burger King is called Hungry Jacks in Australia because some random guy with a burger stand had already called himself Burger King and trademarked it in Aus before Burger King expanded there and point blank refused to sell the rights to them no matter how much money they offered him.
I enjoyed this movie a lot first time I saw it in theaters. And I liked most of this franchise. I loved the 80s transformers. Arcee was in the sequel. And one of my cousins was a marine and he worked as one the liaisons for the military on this
That's my husband at 2:39. We were stationed at Fort Irwin, CA and my husband was running a range when they stopped him and said VIP's were coming. It turned out to be the stars of the movie coming to Fort Irwin for boot camp. They came to the range and my husband was one of the soldiers who taught them how to use the weapons. Michael Bay wanted to make sure they knew what they were doing in the movie.
The Fx were incredible and i loved the movie. The changes though were too fast almost all of the time. Both sides should have had a vulnerable period where they had to change back and forth i felt so we could enjoy the spectacle more.
The bit about Hungry Jack's was fascinating!
In America there's a popular fast food chain named "Carl's Jr"
But depending where in the US you are, "Carl's Jr" is actually called "Hardy's"
The world is a weird place 😅
I think also Roland Emmerich was really interested in directing this 1st Transformers movie at one point, makes sense as he's one of the kings of epic disaster movie's like 2012 and day after tomorrow but the studio wanted Michael Bay and Stephen Spielberg instead also its not that Michael Bay didn't think Frank Wellet sounded like megaton he just felt it was to cartooney and not menacing enough which is fair its his movie after all but yea he brought him in for the 4th and 5th movie
Frank Weller my mistake
I met Peter Cullen at a convention, one of nicest men I've ever met
Minty - why didn’t you have some Transformers toys on your shelves for this piece?!? It was the only thing missing from this masterpiece!
Gotta love the 1st Transformers! You were especially funny this episode. Good on ya, Minty!
i worked at paramount on the lot at the time (boring desk job) but for a week, the full size bumblebee was right outside my office. which was cool.
As a fan I love the whole series and franchise while collecting the toys as well
That's all that counts,enjoying yourself.
I love your sponsor ad. That was spot on. I usually skip over those on other videos. Happy I didn't skip yours.
It's funny you just put this out because yesterday I was looking for clips of Agent Simmons.
1st and the 3rd in my opinion are the best.. I feel they messed with some key points between the Bots and their Human companions… To make it more of a roller coaster fun park ride rather than an adaptation of the cartoon. The third one had Leonard Nimoy voice one of the Bots. With the other two original voice actors for Optimus & Megatron. Now that’s some nostalgia. A few favorite characters from childhood brought together down the years.. Plus Jetpack Prime. And a snake like Transformer tearing down skyscrapers.. Nice..! Been awhile since I watched it. I’m sure there was more. I just remember it having a decent story line while doing what the first one did well. Haven’t seen the Beast Wars version yet. Looks like it could be decent. At least the CG has come a long way.. I remember watching Beast Wars when I was like 15 I think., thinking to myself at the time, “what is this.?”, “Did the People who draw go on strike.?” This is terrible.! 🤫 The story was good though. 😌 And I knew then what ever I was watching was going to get better.
I dont care about any of it micheal bay ruined transformers period
Been a transformers fan since day 1 and until this day, glad i saw it when i was in middle school since then i became a transformers collector 😅💯💯
18:49 Just a thought for future works.. I think we would all love to see a 2nd camera angle in the post of Minty doing his "see ya" dive to the floor. Another great review Minty.
The first one along with Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts are the best!
I love your channel ❤ this was so fun to revisit and I learned a lot!
Good lord has it been that long already feels like yesterday
Great episode minty I loved it. Thank you.
Fun storytime. Back in the 1970s and early 80s Japan was making a lot of money off toy lines like Shogun Warriors which were popular in North America, Marvel comics was buying a lot of their ideas for comic books, they even bought the rights to Godzilla and had him fight The Avengers, yeah, that really happened. Anywho, I digress, Transformers were created in Japan and during that period US television shows were hugely popular over there, particularly a show called BJ & The Bear which starred a trucker named BJ and his sidekick Bear, a chimpanzee as they travelled around the USA solving crimes and whatnot. BJ's truck, a 1979 Kenworth K100C, bright cherry red with white racing stripes was the inspiration for the design of the original Optimus Prime.
wow, in 4 years this movie will be 20 years old. where does the time go 😔
On the Transformers sound effect you gave at the end, don't quit your day job 😅
