As a dyed in the wool, rock and metal head I feel proud that the great Pat Boone is an integral part of the heavy metal family. He has an awesome voice.
I read about him doing this in some magazine - and it was one of the most unbelievable articles ever, I just stared at the print...then I saw a news ad or something for him in that awards show he talks about here. THEN I saw THIS when it aired. I'm glad someone uploaded this. Funny moment in Television history for real.
Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourne and Lemmy said that Pat Boone is the coolest guy they know and know him personally. I read an article about his time in the studio doing this record and they said that so many of the Metal Hierarchy of the best Metal Bands were dropping by the studio and were so honored that Pat Boone was doing one of their songs. They said he has nothing but respect for them and they of him. That's fine with me. I still listen to the CD every now and then.
Surprisingly, it is very good. I had always known of it but never heard until tonight mainly because I didn’t know that it had big band accompaniment. I thought it was a pathetic attempt by an aging pop star of yesteryear to be relevant and, accordingly, would be cringe inducing. Well played, Pat.
I wish he would have also make a sedate punk rock inspired album....can you imagine him doing a slow finger snapping version of bodies,by the sex pistols?
Maybe pat should do some big band versions of discharge songs (I would like to hear the possibility of life's destruction played by a really swinging big band
I love this album!!! If you're in a bad mood, it will definitely lighten you up. Enter Sandman is probably my favorite of all the songs on the album. Paradise City had me in stitches. Great interview. If anyone is interested, the album is called "In A Metal Mood."
but I was a child I love this man for something that always stops with me by him was April love his voice was like Bing Crosby soothing wonderful singing voice and he was good looking with it(the wife)
Actually, His Metal cover album is quite good stuff. Those were very soulful metal music and interesting experiment. In today, Hank Ⅲ sometime plays Heavy Metal. Maybe , Pat's experiment was too early.
The haircut still screams "American businessman".....It's like when you go on a Jamaican holiday and you see these middle age men on the beach trying to be "island"...the haircut always gives them alway
Yeah .hey Pat if you rock then the referees were wrong and Bobby riggs actually beat Billie Jean king in the king of kings tournament. He went back to usual position a doorstop at Macys Corp offices.
Of course : "it's absurd" .... but at least good or nice to know or hear that he did not take himself too seriously !! A record or album Ok ... but touring with it ! Who draws which lines where ?
Are the tattoos real? I like him here but otherwise he is alittle to self righteous. He was a very strict and closed minded father. I remember hearing how he continued spanking his daughters , well into their teens. He was quick to condem this music before and those who performed it. He would be the first to tell you how he is saved but your going to hell. I always thought he was a very closeted gay man hiding behind his good boy and holy act.

Agreed. He should’ve teamed up with Alice Cooper!🤟
One of the best metal/jazz albums ever made. Love it!

Lmao yes!
Or the White Swallow.

So good to see Pat explain this music. He HAS done all the rest over & over. His heavy metal CD has a big band sound to it too. Way to go Pat !

Those 60 year old tatted guns are honestly lookin’ lit af 💪 🔥
everybody remembers that jazzy rendition of crazy train from the mtv Osbornes show. And his version of wind cries mary is legit
*Simply Amazing !*
So after a 35-year break he says "Nobody can say I don't think my next move out carefully". He should have waited 40 years and really thought it out!
Dude is a badass for this
Boone's daughter Debby was soooo hot! He shoulda did a version of LedZep's "The Lemon Song" on that album.
hey that's my best friends aunt, watch it! His mom is Cherry
She lighted my life up for sure back in the day ❤

I must admit that I love the album - it's odd, interesting, got some great songs on it -
and last not least it's well performed!
Actually, His Metal cover album is quite good stuff. Those were very soulful metal music and interesting experiment. In today, Hank Ⅲ sometime plays Heavy Metal.

Basically he's Tobias Funke.

I fought with Pat in the war. The war on cash
I’m hollering
Oh bernadine
Why not. Opera singers are performing "Popera".
Nice leather vest Pat. \m/
Yeah .hey Pat if you rock then the referees were wrong and Bobby riggs actually beat Billie Jean king in the king of kings tournament. He went back to usual position a doorstop at Macys Corp offices.
"TBN" = J-O-K-E
He should cover a Cannibal Corpse song.
is this where the term mid-life crisis came from?
Method actor
Pat Boone: "How do you do, fellow kids?"

Don`t even now what to say.
I have the album and it's great.
Though it's not really just heavy metal.
What are record stores?
Of course : "it's absurd" .... but at least good or nice to know or hear that he did not take himself too seriously !! A record or album Ok ... but touring with it !
Who draws which lines where ?
Why does a line need to be drawn?
???
when he turned to the dark side
Didn't know opioids were popular back then.
He looks more religious
Well he should of done a grindcore cover album
This is just silly!
I'm sure it's just a joke.
Wwjd
Some celebrities will do anything to stay relevant. ?????
It wasn't a heavy metal album. Doesn't even have guitar on it!
lol i know that's what makes it so deliciously repulsively appealing, in a nauseating sort of way. 🤣
is this a joke
just steal some more songs
What?

don't believe everything you hear or read... all I know is this cat merged big band and metal.. which I think is pretty hip.
"Show me a Christian that is not self righteous and closed minded and i will show you a not a Christian." Mark "of the Beast" Twain.
He looks utterly preposterous and I'm sure that his imaginary sky-buddy Jesus would *_NOT_* approve 😆
You know Christians make metal music too, right?
somebody's never listened to white metal
