now that definitely had a weird turn, while ok replace with surgical altered "lowers" then killing the spoiled rich kid was a really good twist, I think the "oh she's a vampiric rosebush" was just a little too much.
whoever pitched the idea of adding a cannibalistic plant woman needs to rethink being a writer...

The copies idea is inspired by the Alex Rider series that i read when i was younger. Parents would send their badly behaved kids to a rich school in the french alps, called Point Blanc academy, to improve their discipline. Little did they know that copies of their kids were being sent back to them and not their actually kids. The school would try to kill parents that publicised their suspicions as their kids did not seem to be their own.
ah lol i didnt think of that! The gemini project!
I knew the plot seemed familiar. But I couldn't put my finger on what book, that I've read, the idea is from.
Its slightly different though as the south african dude in alex rider was using the clones to take over the world.
Ooooh yeah 🤔
Omg!I love Alex rider, it’s such a good book series
‘Double o nothing’
This movie went from being science fiction into fantasy. The duchess is a vampiric Rose Bush? Lol.
I don't mind the twist being as weird as a vampire rose bush person but it's annoying that they added it because it's full of holes.... Like who is she and why does she exist, is her "school" only so she can feed on girls, and what does she being a vampire rose creature even have to do with the story? It all seems pointless to have that in the movie.
@@citrusbutter7718 she uses the girls to maintain her youthfulness while at the same time getting richer, makes sense to me.
@@sinlarssinterrna6831 I know that part, but rose bush o.0? So random. I assume they were going for an Alice in wonderland sort of weird.
@@citrusbutter7718 maybe it feels this way because it's just a recap, I'm hoping it was handled better in the actual movie.
The ending with the vampire rose bush was a little too much, although foreshadowed in a good way; but the very end when Anna and the real girl share their stories and switch lives after flashing back to the beginning is a excellent ending!
it really wasn't the rosebush twist was awesome
I think the movie would've been better if the Duchess was just another human. Corrupted by preying on both the upper and lower class people
I actually like it makes the drama better

Armana is a famous singer how is no one going to realise the copy doesn't have her voice since it's just another person rather than a clone
To be fair, in today's pop music market, it wouldn't be that hard. While there is some original music out there, a lot of songs are written by a handful of authorized composers who have researched which sound bites and voices sell. Research something called, "the millennial whoop," then research how many songs have actually been written by Patrick Metzger.
if they replaced all of the singers today, you would only notice about 5%
My mom used to say that a lot of people could sing like Elvis Presley. Some even LOOKED LIKE Elvis Presley.
But only one of them could BE Elvis Presley.
With autotune and other computer enhancement, a good singing voice isn't even necessary anymore.

Everyone keeps saying that this twist is like punishing the rich and helping out the poor girls but you're all thinking very 1-dimensionally. I'm poor and have been all my life, always got food from food banks or soup kitchen, my toys and clothes were from dumpster diving or the thrift store at best. I would NEVER want this fate for myself, ever. This is horrific, being kidnapped and turned into a clone of a rich person to be shoved into their life, is NOT a blessing just because "ooh I'm rich now!" Yes as a poor person it absolutely sucks having NO money, but NOTHING is worth giving up who you are and your life and the people you may love in this life, your woul and pesonality and talents. Nothing is worth that. Not even all the money you could ever want. They're not doing favors for ANYONE in this movie, they are killing uncooperative rich kids and then stealing poor kids from their families and themselves to replace them because they see poor kids as a literal possession and asset to be used to exact a plan, not as humans. If someone made you run mazes all day and when you get to the end of the maze you get a delicious treat every time, it doesn't mean you're being given a better life, you still belong to someone, they essentially made you their property and all you get in exchange is money, which you can get a myriad of other ways where people don't own you, you just won't have so much you don't know what to do with, and no one needs that much money anyway. This isn't like the Prince and the Pauper where they agreed to switch places, being poor and being kidnapped and forced to live as a rich person who is NOT you would still be devastating for any human with a real personality.
I totally agree.
Indeed. Both girls are suffering. Upper girls like Uma is getting KILLED after being tortured by the tape therapy. Yuck that grossed me out. Imagine being forced to sit on a makeshift pony and watch for hours a man that u hate cuz he..um idk..KILLED ur dad?!! Indirectly by taking over his company or something...idk but Son was at fault.
Then there is lower girls like Anna who is forced to have surgery, act like someone they r not and have to live in constant fear thinking someone will find out. What is worse, she will be treated like a Slave by Son, forced to obey his every orders.....sleep must have been torturous for her if u know what I mean... if they did not hatch the assassination plan.
My problem is....Yu Amarna and Chloe died...WHY
@@sinlarssinterrna6831 they never said they were still poor. They were writing this comment saying they know what it's like to be poor, and even with this knowledge, they still think the bad guys of the movie aren't helping the poor kids. Them being poor is just a way to say they know what they're talking about. You're the one not making sense here.
@@sinlarssinterrna6831 also this channel is meant to listen to a story, without having to watch the movie. Why are you here if you think they don't tell the stories very well? Sounds like a you problem.
You are considered poor in a rich economy but being truly poor means there is no such thing as food banks and dumpsters that has anything that is of any value at all. Dumpster diving in rich places like the USA actually grants you a lot because there is so much surplus that businesses prefer to throw away instead of giving them away. In actual poor places, people are scraping up tree skins and drying clay in the sun to eat in order to satisfy their hunger.
I really love the costume design. It has its own air about it and it's interesting.
Oof it's like a trippy fairytale, I'm into it🤭

I don't know why I thought about Paris Hilton being sent to that school when she was a teenager and endured so much. Story probably doesn't correlate at all but I couldnt help but think of that by just reading the plot
No totally! Definitely reminded me of those wilderness programs or a gay conversion therapy camp
The aesthetics, the concept, the twist, i think this would have worked a thousand times better as an anime than a real life movie or better yet a mini series.
A movie where the poor gets the better deal, that’s interesting. They can live rich, and fulfilling lives, from a quick surgery, and memory implants (sure you will need to always act the way the program wanted you to be, but some of these are way too easy like just marrying a guy, with it being way too easy to convince people you’re innocent, and the girl that just needed to be skinny). The rich however, it sounds terrifying, be exactly what you’re parents or whoever sent you wanted you to be or they will send you here, and you will die, while also being replaced.
For the protagonist case it's implied the guy is most likely abusive. He already killed her dad.
@@syolyte oh, makes sense, the guy was very sketchy in the video.
@@ginnungagapabyss5639 Correction, he caused him to delete himself. Either way it's his fault and her family is happy enough to sell off their daughter to get back into the upper class.

@@syolyte whats the name of this movie??
The trend in most of these future movies is that the line between the rich, middle, and lower class just becomes a line between being rich or extremely poor.
It’s less of a defining line in modern life, so it makes sense. Dystopia is made to echo and intensify the horror or modern society.
@@maddiedoesntkno Boring.
That line between only rich and poor is the future the elites are working toward right now, with their “Great Reset”.
I feel bad for Yun and Chloe they did nothing wrong and the fact Markus betrayed Uma was surprising to say the least. I don’t get how Yun died and the endings not quite clear.
The sedative was meant to kill her all along was my guess.

I’ve decided this is the sequel to “the ruins” and the plant finally made it out of the temple and has gained human form.
😮 I hadn't thought about that, you might just be right!
Spoiler 👇
Didn't the one (definitely infected) female get away at the end? I could definitely see her being consumed by the plant slowly, and in a last ditch effort to not infect the world winds up on an island (of course infecting the entire island in the process) and as it turns out duchess is her "daughter" who is now trapped on the island, unable to spread further.
solid movie btw
sheesh
Probably the only movie that sacrificed the rich to enhance the poor's life
For a profit....
Wasn't out of the goodness of their hearts though, it's just business here. With a tiny supernatural bit thrown in.
It's patriarchal. They aren't sending away the unruly rich boys ( Kennedy's ahem).
@@juliebuys2195 The movie didn't say the school would also accept boys or that there aren't any males only schools in their universe, the movie was only focused around this school....
Well I think it's more like sacrificing the poor's personality to satisfy what the rich wanted, or being used to live someone else's life so they are content about their children... it's sick for both parties, noone wins except the rich parents' have their superficial material values met.
The outfits are fire ngl
I just found the name of the movie, if anyone is interested like I am/was, it is called ,
Paradise hills.
I def was wondering. Thanks!
thxxx so much, was searching all the comments to find the name XD
Thank you!!! I’m going to watch it!!!!!
Is this movie a remake? Because I remember seen amovie set in the '30/'40 where a girl is sent to an all girls boarding school in the middle of a dense forest after her father's death, in there she get bully by one of the girls that always spilled or stealed her milk. Truns out the women running the school were some kind of plant hybrid that put their white blood on the milk to sedate the girls an steal their life energy. The protagonist and the bully (who was actually protecting her) kill the main plant monster/demon in the end and all the hybrids die.
I couldn't find a reference to this anywhere, and all the articleship say it's an original story BUT this movie fells like a mash up of this story and another that some comments said about a school in the Alps where the rich send their children and get clones sent back bcos the villain wants to take over the world...
EDIT: after some googling I found the movie it was "The Woods"(2006) and it was set in the 60s and the women where witches not hybrids
"because she's a vampiric rosebush"
Well that was an unexpected twist.
everything in this film was plausible till the rose bush vampire, oh and Poison Ivy is here, did we all miss the part where this is set in the DCCU???
Movies have always done a good job at foreshadowing our future. Clearly these directors/actors/writers have an inside look that us plebes won't see until it's too late.
Vampire rose wenches sucking our life forces?
Oh man I sure how you never get to see "Saving Private Ryan", and then think about the current events.
10:45 Oh man I had no memory of me being in this movie, must've been because the doctors sedated me.
What a twist!!! I love movies that throw you in a loop, I swear sometimes it's easy to predict events in predictable storylines, but this was absolutely a movie that takes you on a ride and gives you no way to predict it, even the subtle eerie foreshadowing events are too vague to predict what they are whispering, like when yui pushes the duchess and the mirrors and roses 🌹 react with her anger; it makes sense at the end, but; in the moment, how could we understand it? It only murmurs that the walls are watching and listening but it's impossible to tell if it's metaphorical or literal, or a move to provoke a feeling of cluster phobia, these eerie simple additions do so much to control the emotions meant to be experienced by we viewers. And; I, ABSOLUTELY. POSITIVELY. LOVE IT!
this might be the worst plot for a movie, ever. I was actually laughing out loud at some of the “twists” when it was so blatantly obvious. Then the “dutchess” is a fucking VAMPIRIC ROSE BUSH hahahahahahaha

Vampire rosebush seems totally random... How's that got anything to do with the story so far? Lmao
Honestly this is a good idea. Only it should also include Spoiled adults, Karens, and male Karens lol.
A good idea how?? Killing those that don't comply with their rich parents, the ones who rebel and would want to not step into their footsteps.... replacing them with those that carry on the insane fake, materialism at the expenses of losing their own personality??
I mean putting Karen’s and spoiled brats on an island so we don’t have to deal with their selfish entitled behavior until they they can behave themselves. I didn’t say anything about killing. That isn’t necessary for being a spoiled entitled brat. Now as for sex offenders and murderers now they can be put down.

Good to see one of the Alice clones found a good life 😊
yes the life of a vampiric rose bush
i was like oh a futuristic dystopia film about the rich and poor, then i derailed when they added supernatural
The rose bush vampire thing totally ruined everything. Everything was realistic in a futuristic setting until that dumb shit. I got confused, watched an analysis & pretended like that part never happened. Would’ve been better if they had just euthanized the girls off instead of getting killed by a human rose bush vampire thing
Im surprised this movie got funding at all.
SUCH A COOL CONCEPT
Recap is better then the movie!
So the Dutchess is a Vampiric Plant... nobody is gonna explain this?!
It would've ended better if the Duchess was just a normal human originally from the lower who hated the uppers so she was planning to overthrow them. She can even use some kind of drug to drag her life longer and keep her young considering they already have high technology. If they need any twist about the flowers , they can make them having some effects of hallucinations of whatever.... The plot twist about her being a vampiric rosebush is just too.... "out of blue" to be honest. It's already at the end so I feel like it doesn't even need to be there.
If they really want to make it interesting by adding supernatural vibes... They can just keep her identity a secret to add more mystery. And they can even make a sequel where they reveal the Duchess's real identity and that would be more interesting. If it was me I would be like " Wait the Duchess was actually a supernatural being?! Why wasn't this in the season 1. Well damn now I'm curious about her! Time to rewatch season 1 for any hints about her identity"
Yea, I'm just simple like that. =.=)
