Bears with a statement win to enter 2024 with. This team is night/day different from the first 4 weeks. Their defense is playoff caliber and their run game is lethal when fields is healthy. Considering how good the team is already, having the first overall pick next year along with their own first rounder might be what pushes the bears over the edge. I can see them being a legitimate NFC playoff team next year.
Beating the Packers next week would be the ultimate feel good win after our embarrassing week 1 loss to them.
Only if they can keep it up... winning too late in the season. Have to keep in mind what team were talking about here, lol

All he needs is to stay healthy, more protection, and more weapons and he will be great. It seems that he's had to make his decisions too quickly, which has hurt his performance in the past. While 2023 wasn't quite the slam dunk many Bears fans believed it would be a few months ago I'm proud to see us finishing strong and fighting until the very end, hopefully this could be the start of better days ahead.

As a lifelong Falcons fan, I can't ignore the poor tackling, bad QB decision making, lack of protection, and poor play calling at times. Also, we need Koo to snap out this funk. He's earned a grace period from being so reliable in the past though.

I live here in Atlanta. It's funny how there were a lot of fans and folks on talk radio talking up the Falcons and predicting they'd win the division and go to the playoffs back before the season started. The radio folks were talking about how much they trusted the head coach. At the time, I really didn't know what they were looking at to have this confidence; regardless of anything else, there's nothing resembling a playoff caliber quarterback on the current roster.

Maybe it would be best to keep Justin Fields and continue to build around him. DJ Moore was one piece that’s good for him. Another WR and probably a lineman would be even better.

Lions fan here. I never understood the people dogging on Fields, saying he's a bad thrower and not the future of the Bears. Some of it was from Bears fans. The coaching was the problem last year. It's like everyone forgot how great of a passer he was at Ohio State and everyone started saying he couldn't, and that he was just a glorified running back. He should be talked about with the elite QB's in the league, but is slept on. He can do everything Lamar Jackson can do, maybe even better. Man it's gonna be tough in the NFC North next year for us Lions fans. You guys are closing the season out strong. 👏
OK good point in this case, but you should remember to never compare someone's college league success with the pro leagues. Those are two entirely different games of football, going from college to the pros is like taking an instant leap 5 steps forward.
@rockhaze I totally get that. I'm just saying people acted like he couldn't throw whatsoever and didn't know how. A lot of what he showed in college has come to fruition in the NFL. You can see greatness even at the NCAA level. Sure, most QB's, even the best ones, end up as busts in the NFL. Some of it is coaching, some of it is just not being able to translate to the next level.

Honestly, thought the season was hopeless after the start we had, but to still be in playoff contention, albeit by the slimmest margin possible, in the second to last week of the season is a great bounce back for this team. The team redeeming itself for that Week 1 loss to the Packers would be a great note to end this season on.

Being a Packer fan, I'm nervous the Bears will pick Marvin Harrison as their number #1 pick. Him and Moore will be very dangerous. In addition, Fields has arrived, it typically takes 2 - 3 years for a QB to click.

Next season is his 4th season and when they improve the OL and get more playmakers around him you'll see what you have. Next season the league will see even more. I would say it's his 3rd season next year. Nagy did him no favors his rookie year and his second year was with a team devoid of top talent. The only thing he got from those two years was women experience but no continuity with teammates.
Uh, 3 years is pretty patient. I like Fields, but there's very little chance that he doesn't ask for big money he's not worth. Justin had 313 yards of total offense, 268 in the air, 2 TDs and no picks. And this was against the No.1 Red Zone defense and No. 8 defense vs. the pass. .. Would love to see his critics complain about this one. I imagine they'll probably try to give the defense all the credit. Which is ironic since when the defense didn't perform last year and Fields was putting up points they made it all his fault.
