Thanks for your videos. Your tip on what to do when you end up with a little play in the cranks when you put them back on is perfect! More grease was the answer! Fantastic! Thank-you.
One small thing to add for the cautious. The aluminium (inner) M15 nut holding the (steel) crank is easy to cross thread when installing and costs about £10! . It's perhaps better on installation to remove the outer M22 (self-extractor 10mm Allen) nut and its washer so you can more delicately begin to attach the M15 nut to the internal threads on the spline. When that is torqued correctly to 50-54 Nm then install the self-extracting M22 nut to the crank arm and torque correctly.
54nm? That is absolutely insane!
Awesome video. Possible to share how to change AXS chainrings?
Hey, great video. When I reinstall the cranks after replacing the bottom bracket (with a gxp so the same), the cranks seem very tight and don't spin freely - they'll only spin a 1/4 turn. If I back the crank bolt off, they do spin freely......any suggestions?
Would the same procedure work for a SRAM Red 12 speed crankset?
So what is the 10mm allen actually for if the 8mm gets used both to remove and install?
Hi. Great videos. I have a GXP Italian threaded BB. The SRAM force crankset came with a wavy washer already installed. Do I remove this washer before installation? Cheers!
On a threaded bb yes remove the washer!
Hi I have the same crankset, but the Hex key is on the chainset side. Is it still anti clockwise to undo from the chainset side?
Hi ,got the wavy washer on the drive side
When I torque up however the BB / chainset bind , am I doing something wrong , on a Scott Addict ,Press fit BB
Hi, the nature of the GXP is pretty simple if all tolerances are in place, if not it’s a pretty bad system.
Its important that the inner-ring on the non-driveside bearing meet the edge (22mm) on the spindle before crank attach the bearing on the driveside. When you tighten the crankarm the pressure must only be on the inner-ring on the non-driveside. I guess the Scott has a pressfit BB86, and if you use SRAM BB86 BB, it ought to work, do you use wave washer?. If you use a PF BB from a supplier who include a adaptor ring for making it GXP it gets complicated to work.
@@carsten44 Hi ,thanks for the reply , I had the GXP reducer / adapter ring but it was the wrong width , changed it to a narrower width one and now all torqued and running lovely 👌👊👍
Hello, You can make a short video on how to remove and reinstall the back wheel with the latest Sram AXS 12-speed DUB rear derailleurs, when the chain is installed on the bike. Almost impossible to get the wheel back on the bike.
Can you use a compact crankset with AXS Etap?
