Berbatov was probably in the top 5 most technically gifted players to ever play in the Premier League. He would literally jog through games because his first touch, movement, vision, anticipation were all so good he could reduce the amount of running he did to a minimum. Sensational player with a style all his own.

Berbatov was truly one of the most gifted players ever. He was so skillful and made everything he did look effortless so people said he was lazy but that was just his style of playing.
Also please react to Paul Scholes . He was a CM for Man United and arguably one of the greatest midfielders ever. Even players like Zidane,Xavi and Thierry Henry said so. He was a complete midfielder and his passing accuracy was the best I’ve ever seen. First touch in football is a skill you’re probably not appreciating enough. Through no fault of your own. First touch is what it says it is. When you receive the ball in football from a pass your first touch is how well you control the ball. Some players are completely gifted. A ball could fly at them from 40 yards away and with 1 touch they take it into their stride mid sprint. Or instantly stop the ball dead.
It’s very subtle but it is a huge distinguishing factor between good and great players.

    • @ernieb8490
      @ernieb8490 Pƙed 2 lety +2

Well said. I’ve been playing my whole life and the one thing that still consistently amazes me is how easily some pros trap a 50 yard long oass.

Something you guys need to look out for more is a players ‘1st touch’ unless you play the game you won’t realise the insane skill a lot of these players are showcasing when they receive the ball. Getting the ball under their control instantly. Getting the ball under control instantly after receiving it from another player gives these players so much more time to execute what they need to do next, getting a shot out or to get past a player. Thought you might be interested to know this.

The best video of this guy is " Dimitar Berbatov touched by a God" with classical music... Cause he was an artist on the field and he played according to the music in the video. He's nonchalant with the way he played and his FIRST TOUCH was probably his greatest asset. Only elegant players have that.

Because he isn't one of the best strikers of all time... Simple as that. He is an extremely technical striker, really good, but is he in the same place as R9, Eusebio, Van Basten, Henry, Suarez, Ibra and others? I don't think so.

    • @oneshak

Berbatov is a striker with really low number of goals/game and low assists too... Are you saying that a Suarez with 645 games, 433 goals and 240 assists isn't clearly better than a Berbatov with 615 games and only 251 goals and 101 assists? And there are a LOT of others strikers more efficient than him too, I didn't mention Cantona, Di Stefano, Puskas, PelĂ©, Gerd MĂŒller, RomĂĄrio, Lewandowski, Benzema, Drogba, Villa, Eto'o, Weah, Shevchenko and many others who delivered way more goals. @@henriqueteixeira2998 well the stats disagree. he was top scorer in PL. You can only really compare players who played at the same time. Otherwise it's a crapshoot. Play was way different you go back a few decades even, different teams, different competition. You cannot go back in history and compare Cantona for example who played in a different era. And Di Stefano?? Pele? you cannot be serious. Why not go back to the 19th century?
Now as far as Berba is concerned he was also treated like shit at Man U. He was benched towards the end just after he was PL top scorer. Benched for the final. His career was essentially destroyed by Ferguson.
The others were all treated pretty good. Berba made a major mistake to move to Man U with Fergie at the helm and the incessant drive put machines on the pitch that can run at 100mph but cannot think. THat is why Barca destroyed Man U

I said this in another video but another skill you guys gotta watch for is how someone controls the ball with their first touch, whenever you see a ball being passed to the player, watch for how they set themselves up for their second touch, its a very hard skill to master (especially for long passes or passes thru the air) to be able to judge where the ball will land, perfectly kill the right amount of power and to let it bounce in the exact direction you want it to while being pressured by other players and everyone watching is underrated, cuz if you don't judge it right the ball can bounce literally anywhere off your foot

In the begining of the video, you see him receive 2 long passes through the air and basically take all speed out of the ball with his foot in order to set himself up for the dribble. That's incredibly difficult to do and if you want to get a feel for just how hard that is to do, try to drop a basketball (or any ball roughly that size) on your foot and control its bounce. that's hard enough already and he did it with balls coming at him with much more speed. He looks like he is walking most of the time (and he is LMAO) but he is doing that in the fastest pace league in the world, so any time you see a guy walking through defenders in the Prem? they are special. This guy has possibly the best first touch I have ever seen. I would reccomend coming back in a few months/years time and watching this again, especially if you ever try and play yourself...this guy makes the almost impossible look easy, like it's nothing, its hard to realise how good he was when you are new to the game, a VERY technical player, its the little things with this guy. Guys you need to understand to control the ball and make it stop like dead is very very very hard. So when you see people do it like simply you know they are usually really gifted with the ball. This guy could do it so easily so It looks really easy. Keep up the good reactions these videos are amazing đŸ‘đŸŸ

Bro you need to differentiate between freekicks and penalty kicks.
A penalty kick is when the player who is shooting is just 1 on 1 with the goal keeper, its like a free throw in basketball and is mostly expected to be scored but goalies still block them sometimes or the players miss bc of pressure. It is only shot from the penalty spot inside the area.
As to a freekick, it's when the player is taking the shot from anywhere outside the area, and there is a wall of players between him and the goal. They are hard to score and require a high level of skill to shoot the ball high enough over the wall but with enough dip in the end to not go over the goal, there are many techniques to shoot a freekick tho.

DImitar was such a finesse cold striker. Next guy on the list should be Dennis Bergkamp.
He reminds you of Zlatan since both are what you would call a textbook striker. A guy that will always be near the area and will read the game really well.

See, boatfull skills like elasticos ,stepovers etc are sometimes(i said sometimes)) done for the show, like its beautiful to see but real technique and most difficult are the controls , like chest control, ball coming in the air and feet control it , thats the most diifficult. Also headers and good timing passing with precision..thats the real deal

Btw 40% free kick accuracy is an enormous overestimation I think messi has the highest conversion rate at about 8%
