    You are the Director of Galacticare; manage your own interstellar healthcare company and (try to) save the Galaxy - just make sure to get paid first!
    Design, furnish, and upgrade your hospital.
    Hire doctors with distinct traits and backgrounds.
    Keep everyone relatively content by satisfying their various needs.
    Build and improve experimental treatment facilities.
    Meet and recruit a variety of unique Consultants (DJs, monks, you name it!)
    Explore their mechanics, levelling choices, and personalities.
    Consultants stay and grow throughout the campaign, unlocking new skills and playstyle options as you progress.
    Discover, research, and cure alien conditions.
    Treat patients of all shapes and sizes: from puppy-sized lemurs to entire planets.
    Provide healthcare for musical festivals, deep-space prisons, communal space farms, and industrial disasters; or go wild in sandbox mode.
    Develop your relationship with each species, earning rewards from their respective cultures.
    Use holographic doctors, short-range teleporters and subspace portals to micromanage your hospital’s performance.
    Upgrade rooms, read the thoughts of everyone aboard your station and purchase equipment from a colossal wandering trader.
    Raise your Hospital Rating - the only goal that truly matters.
    Galacticare takes you on a colourful and bizarre journey - from humble beginnings orbiting 23rd-century Earth, to the internal world of an extra-dimensional deity.
    It’s time to save the galaxy - one patient at a time!

    Glad you're doing a series on this game! Theme Hospital was the original. Startopia was the space station management game. Two Point Hospital is the modern hospital manager. Two Point Campus is the follow-up doing education instead of healthcare. All are great games as is Galacticare!

    Charging people for medical care is not her vision of the future but monetizing the waiting room is.... Ya know what I'm down. I prefer ads to 25,000 dollars charge for an x-ray. 😂😭

      Yeah, no joke! haha! My comment was more that a lot of similar, previous games gave you income for things like advertising, vending machines, etc

    I don't know, if you noticed, but the Training room can actually have 2 training machines. It said so in the tooltipp when you contructed the room.
    Same with the research lab.

    "Normally I don't like story in any kind of game." That's a refreshing dash of honesty for something that may get you some flak. I fully agree, and I feel that - with a few exceptions - games are not an ideal media for storytelling. And that's coming from an avid consumer of fiction in many other media, mainly but not limited to books.

    • @KatherineOfSky
      @KatherineOfSky  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Indeed. When I want story, I'll read a book. If I want to engage my mind with making decisions, I'll play a game. The two don't mesh in my mind.

    • @KatherineOfSky
      @KatherineOfSky  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Also, I am unconcerned about "flack"... I hold an opinion formed by my character throughout my lifetime. No one is going to change that. Others can prefer what they want.

      @RoamingJ Před 2 měsíci

      @@KatherineOfSky I feel the same way about it. I believe, for games, setting is more important than story. A well developed setting is like a story that sucks you in and beckons you to discover it and experience it. All without needing to be actively and sometimes forcibly fed to you.

      @halo253578 Před 2 měsíci +1

      I can understand where you are coming from with that, I enjoy reading, but when it comes to visual storytelling, I prefer games, because I can have an impact in the world, and I can get more out of a game than I can a movie. A decent story isn't necessary for a game to be fun, but a decent story can make a good game, great.

    • @RoamingJ
      @RoamingJ Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@halo253578 It's definitely a personal preference thing. Maybe I sounded a bit too much like having The One Truth - which I definitely don't. I know a lot of people who enjoy stories and lore in games with a passion.

    Regarding the mystery of the multiplying doctors, I suspect it's your various doctors not being "locked" to their assigned work spots, so they can roam to other rooms which are in need of a doctor. So instead of multiplying, they just tend to move to other workspots. If you do wish to lock doctors to specific rooms, job wise, there is a lock icon in the information window you get when you left click in a room with an assigned doctor.

    • @KatherineOfSky
      @KatherineOfSky  Před 2 měsíci

      Except for research, I never do that because you want them to cover for when the docs go on breaks. The issue is that the game doesn't say (from other replacement doc leaving their room), you still need a doctor, so it looks like they are multiplying.

    • @ravageMK2
      @ravageMK2 Před 2 měsíci

      @@KatherineOfSky For me, ironicly, the lock on the research doesn't work, though perhaps that might be due to the crafting blueprints being a relatively quick research which un-assigns all the researchers once done. They do tend to return though once the next research is started, since they're locked out of everything else for me. Definately can get a bit hectic with which doctors are in which places, I do agree.

    I had first watched this as background noise at work and thought I was mishearing boning chamber, because to me boning was what you do to remove bones from meat. Then looking at the video, it really said boning chamber. And 40:00 confirmed it really IS a boning chamber. Now, I don't feel like I'm going as crazy...

    Is the first episode missing? or out of order? I see this is 1, but you mention the first episode? Love these games, played two points hospital for years. Also started playing (thx to gamepass) - sadly its a bit buggy but gladly it does not make it unplayable. Its fun and if you played Two Point Games you will be super happy and familiar with all. Setting is good, lot of voice acting (maybe something too much). Solid 3 of 5 stars game for playing through.
