    This lady reminds me of my grandmum! I used to live in Ripon Street, my uncles used to stay at the Barracks before they moved to Elliot Street and Ripon Street!

    Such a shame to read all the Anglos themselves talking bad about this angloindian lady and her son. Let's not judge. We don't know what they are going through and the reason her son isn't able to work. If you can't help them then let's not talk bad about them and judge them and talk in a condescending way. If ever we are able to achieve anything good in life, be it getting a good job or excelling in any field it's all because of the grace of God. We don't have anything to brag about and also we don't have the right to look down on anybody. Merry Christmas! God bless! 🙏🏻🙌🏼

    this guy just put the whole anglo indian community under the label of "segregated" and having a bad reputation? Just because some anglos don't work, that doesn't mean we all have a "bad reputation". I'm sure people like that exist in every community and not just anglos. Lowkey very pissed off.

    Another reason is Anglo indians are considered as Britishers or foreigners so we don't get jobs before the indians and some companies like us for our multiple talents

    What did the person who was interviewing mean by saying "YOU PEOPLE" ????? where does that lead to the whole episode of this conversation !!!

    • @livingrootsarchive
      @livingrootsarchive Před 7 lety

      Well Thanx Carlton for your inquiry...when I say "You people" obviously I dont peripheralize them but refering to the Anglo Indians...This is just a lady speaking..about themselves this was just a very sudden, informal mode of conversation without any pre planning and preparation...so I guess it looks haphazard...

    Poverty is what bonded some Anglo Indians in India. Most were thankful to escape their pasts. Discriminated in the land of their birth and having no Indian language, religion or local culture, their future seemed grim. Eventually, the nation embarked on a system of renewal. This did not include the multicultural experience of India. Diversity was lost to promotion of a monoculture. India is not what it was and certainly not what it proposes to be!

    This is a terrible interview. Poor lady is being very polite and answering all your ignorant questions. To top it all this gentleman call her's "you people". Sad times and sad people- No wonder the best have left.

    • @livingrootsarchive
      @livingrootsarchive Před 6 lety

      Dear PRJ, who has bestowed upon you the right to decide what is/are ignorant and what is/are non-ignorant? Don't you think this kind of approach is a form of categorization whichyou are criticizing with "you people"? So, just see how you are trapped in your own criticism - and secondly what do you mean by "No wonder the best have left" ... It's sad to see that you being an Anglo-Indian is generating such redundant existential categories in which you position some elite privileged like you as "best" and the poor, underprivileged like her as "not the best."
      A humble request kindly think twice before using "terms." Please do not use so casually! I hope it widens your otherwise narrow Westcentric pipeline of your thinking.. Tc..

      AURTHAAT PRODUCTIONS just as you have the right to be a busy body on social media defending your fellow people. So do I have the right to stand up against substandard rubbish bottom feeders like yourself. Go make a video on the Communal riots of Calcutta, instead of making same videos based on Bow Barracks. Better luck next time buddy.

      @parthasarathinandi6986  Před 6 lety

      It's our ignorance about a certain subject that leads to an interview for knowing better or something new isn't it? And calling her you people doesn't only mean discrimination, in this case it's about acknowledging a community whose existence is gradually diminishing. It's high time that we set our differences aside and preserve and archive the history at hand before they fade away into oblivion.

    • @livingrootsarchive
      @livingrootsarchive Před 6 lety

      Who the hell you are man..to tell us what we should do and what not? haan? are you from Bow Barracks well if you are then surely will meet you there and straighten things on your face because I am a frequent visitor there..as Felix Augustine the secretary and several others are very good friends of mine.. And who is a "substandard rubbish bottom feeder"? I guess it must be a brainless broth like you.. Instead of feeding your CZcams channel with Hollywood bullshits feed your brain with some intelligence dude.. and let me tell me you straight I am working on the Barracks for the last 5 years and will be working for the next quite a few years...because I understand the value of history and culture..not a disgusting rathole like you.. and next time you write something think twice with whom you are talking...and ask anybody about me in the Barracks..my name is Sayan Dey...Tc.

    • @livingrootsarchive

      Wellbeing 491 yeah sorry for that. But the intention was by no means disrespect. It was somewhat consciously done to portray a fading community from the outsider's naive gaze. But it's been misinterpreted lately and perhaps it's a lack from our end.
