I agree, but there's something even scarier in the Bible that most Christians and even pastors don't think about or even preach about. I think it's Revelation 17 18 or 19. But I think it's 17. It says that the smoke of them there of in Hell goes up to the lamb and his angels for eternity. Looking at the context of this verse in the Greek that it was written in, it's stating that Jesus Christ is the creator of hell and he is the judge of hell. When you look up those two meanings creator of hell and judge of hell in the context of where Sinners will go it's absolutely terrifying. Most people think that hell and the Lake of Fire is the same place but it's not. The Bible says hell/hadies is in the Earth but the Lake of Fire is described as being elsewhere. The Bible says after the great white Throne judgment when Satan the Antichrist and the false prophet are cast into the Lake of Fire and all Sinners that are judged at the great white Throne judgment are cast into the Lake of Fire, then what does Jesus do? The Bible says that he casts death and Hell into the lake of fire. So if he casts hell into the Lake of Fire it's obviously not the same place. With that said, the context of the judge and creator of hell in that verse means that not only is Jesus the judge and creator of hell but he also carries out your punishment. That's why the Bible says the smoke of the people burning in Hell goes up to the lamb and his angels, because he is physically carrying out your torture. People think the worst part about hell is being separated from christ, and it is. However, we are only relationally separated from Christ not physically. Jesus Christ carries out a person's punishment for eternity physically. People that are in hell will physically see Jesus Christ as they are going through their Agony and torture and gnawing and gnashing of teeth as if he were there standing beside of them carrying out their punishment. That's the worst punishment of all is being tortured by the creator of the universe that gave you life knowing that all you had to do was repent and you would be with him in heaven instead of hell. You're still with him, you're just suffering his wrath and the reason a person can't be saved when they're in hell is because after they are cast there they blame and condemn God for them being there and then God punishes them again for blaspheming him and blaming him, then after he punishes them again then they gnash their teeth at him again and then he punishes them and then they match their teeth again and then he punishes them. So in other words you continue to sin while you're in hell and therefore the punishment never catches up to the crime. You would have to become sinless in hell and follow the law in order to be saved and in your Agony that would be impossible. God bless you all

This verse makes me think of someone who gets married. They are in the marriage, but they are there just for the comfort of being married and not being alone. They remain detached from their spouse and children. They rest on the routine and the "normality" and the acceptability. They never truly love or allow any vulnerability on their part. This was actually reference to the aqueducts from two of the surrounding towns. One town was famous for their hot springs that were relaxing and restorative like a hot tub and the other was cold springs that had befits for recovery. By the time the waters reached the town that Jesus was preaching in the water was neither hot or cold. So he was likening their spiritual conditions to the reputation of their towns water for being luke-warm and good for nothing water.
This helps us understand the point is less about it’s better to be good or evil than in the middle but more about not being good for anything like the stagnant water they were famous for.
I think that can still apply in terms of being honest and not apathetic but it can be argued that it’s not really the main theological point Jesus was making there.

      Ephesians 1
      English Standard Version
      Greeting
1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God,
To the saints who are in Ephesus, and are faithful[a] in Christ Jesus:
2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
      Spiritual Blessings in Christ
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5 he predestined us[b] for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, 8 which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight 9 making known[c] to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ 10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.
11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. 13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the guarantee[d] of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it,[e] to the praise of his glory.
      Thanksgiving and Prayer
15 For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love[f] toward all the saints, 16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might 20 that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. 22 And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.

I don't see that those who are cold to Christ will get any rewards either but I can see those who appear hot or cold towards their fellow man getting a reward. People see those who preach the wrath of God as being cold but they are trying to show people their error so that they can turn from it. Those who are hot or warm towards others focus on the love that the Lord has and is showing to us, so that again people will turn to Jesus and be saved and have relationship with God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Pray for anointed workers in every field to demolish strongholds and every argument that stands against the knowledge of God. Pray for the angels to tread down God's spiritual enemies. Pray for the Holy Spirit to come and convict the generation of their sin, judgement and righteousness only through Jesus.
      Lord, have mercy!

I thank Mr. Peterson for bringing this forward because it's largely overlooked by a lot of people but Jesus selected his words carefully so there'd be no confusion.
A very wise Christian teacher shared a question with me that made me stop and examine my Christian walk.
"If you were put on trial for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you"?

To try and fail is admirable and builds character but not to try because of fear of failure (or in some cases success) is depressing, tears down good character and is sad for you and those who love you, just as success makes you and those who love you happy.
I try, but fall short so often, I was afraid that I would be one of the many who are told "depart from Me, I never knew you, you worker of inequity (Lawlessness)", and realize as I get older that falling short is very forgivable, not doing a damned thing because of fear or this or that is almost impossible to forgive if it be the norm.
The Bible is so full of wisdom, knowledge and history, it is the Law Book that all others have to go by(the greatest), and it contains much of what is needed to be successful in this bad copy of an already Fallen World and make it back to Our Father in Heaven.
    Thanks for reading my rant.
