Ilur Sailing Dinghy 'Nomvula' | Denmark Sailing Experience | July 2024

- This summer we took our Ilur to Denmark. First a couple of days in the north of Jutland, Tambosund in the Limfjord. But because the weather was better in the south, we then traveled to Loddenhøj, near Åbenrå. We had a very good time in Denmark and will come again!

What a nice and simple boat. I did dinghy sailing when I started sailing more than 50 years ago. Now I have a Albin Vega in Friesland, but maybe I will go back to the roots. The direct contact to nature and simplicity is unforgotten...

Illur is about a perfect boat. There are many boat designs out there, but for some reasons, this seems about the ideal example of form follows function. Very French in that regard. There is a stereotype that the French are romantics, but actually they are pragmatists.

Hi Mike. Great simple sailing, isn't it? Sometimes I also am thinking about going back to such a small and simple boat. Even our 27/28 feet boats are quite simple. But it's very different with an open boat...
