I am a seasoned P.M. and recently completed my contract and looked into SNOW and took the SERVICENOW ADMIN route and just completed my tutorials and really want to gear toward ITSM route for employment opportunities. I will be taking the exam in the next 2 week just going over some dumps to review and ensure I have the knowledge for the exam.

    I spent years working "IN" the tool on a CMDB but I was not working "On" the tool. I don't see those jobs out there though. Getting an admin or dev cert with some programing seems to be the only way to get the foot in the door. The tool is a very nice well-rounded tool for ticketing, change, incident, problem, and config. Thanks for the resource information!

    • @ITCareerGuide
      @ITCareerGuide  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Sometimes it may be the best move to move down a bit and look for an "entry-level" opportunity for such a specialized area. A lot of people lack a good understanding of ITIL and the related pieces. Get an ITIL related certification maybe and doors will open. A detour may be the best thing that can happen to you.

    • @ITCareerGuide

      It depends on what your role with ServiceNow will be? I think a solid understanding of ITIL and being ITIL certified reduces the need for some technical knowledge, but the tool is so complex that you want to acquire technical knowledge - either as a developer or architect if you want to be able to take things to the next level.

      There would be coding involved, but there are roles where related ITIL knowledge (and the related certification) can completely eliminate the need for coding. So, I would not necessarily give up on this area, but you need to map out a plan, look at job openings and see what they require and then adjust your path accordingly.
