    Update - I heard from the manufacturer that the carton box the mattress shipped in, was probably punctured by the carrier, which made the mattress start to expand in the box. Note that the shipping box will NOT come wrapped in plastic, as the carrier probably added the plastic after noticing the punctured box. That should result in a much easier time pulling the mattress out of the box when you are ready to unbox the mattress :) Let me know if you have questions!

      @@davidcastillo1340 Hi David, thanks for your question. The mattress we had sleep tested right before this one was the Gravity Ice Hybrid mattress. Both being hybrid mattresses, they offered a similar motion transfer and we found the Silk & Snow Hybrid mattress to be a bit firmer than the Gravity, while the Gravity Ice Hybrid slept a little cooler than this one :) Let me know if you have more specific questions.

    I ordered one of the standard Silk and Snow foam mattresses a couple years ago and I really disliked it. It was so soft that I actually had trouble breathing from having so much back pain after a night of sleep. I think the hybrid mattresses may be the way to go. More support.

    Great thorough presentation. I'm in the US. My concern is how would I return a mattress. I saw in other videos it' nearly impossible to compress, actually a machine does it. Would they have a crew remove it from my place. I'm a senior some mobility issues I'm in no position to roll it up box and such.

    We got the Casper Select from Costco. However, it’s great on our back but very firm on our sides. My shoulder sometimes goes numb. How is this bed on your side? Do you think the mattress will last long term?

    • @NonbiasedReviews
      @NonbiasedReviews  Před 3 lety +3

      Hi Rick, I am so sorry to hear about your bad experience... The Casper Select is made exclusively for Costco, while Silk & Snow manufactures all of their mattresses in Canada with premium Canadian products. Their Hybrid Mattress could be a very good option for you. It does really well with side-sleepers, allowing the shoulders and hip areas to sink in a little deeper for extra pressure point relief! You then hit the coils that provide the support you need to align the spine, whether you sleep on your spine or back. I highly recommend it, whether you are a strictly side-sleeper, or a combo sleeper, moving from your side to your back and vice-versa :) Let me know if you have any other questions! :)

    • @NonbiasedReviews
      @NonbiasedReviews  Před 3 lety +3

      Sorry Rick, I did not answer your second question. Yes, the Silk & Snow is built to last. It uses high quality materials manufactured in North America, the foams are all CertiPUR-US (not using harsh chemicals in its manufacturing) and it comes with a 15-year warranty! You also get a 100-night risk-free sleep trial as a guarantee in case you have any doubts!

      @@rmleider Yes, we purchased that one and have had it for about a year. My wife loves it and I am okay with it. It's holding up well. With regards to side sleeping, I don't think it is firmer than the Casper Select we had from Costco, which is supposedly like their Original. Woke up several times in pain from the firmness. Also it's incredibly heavy, so I can't lift it without other people.

    • @NonbiasedReviews
      @NonbiasedReviews  Před 3 lety +1

      HI Aurora, I am sorry that this is not the right mattress for you. We rated a 7.5/10 on the firmness scale, which makes it a firmer-than-average mattress. If you are a side-sleeper who likes to sink in deep or requires more high-pressure area relief, the regular, all-foam Silk & Snow is softer than the Hybrid and might work better for you. Some of us need to make money to feed our kids. We are unbiased as we do not receive any monetary compensation to review mattresses (believe me, most companies try to pay us and we have never accepted a cent from anyone!) and are 100% independently owned, unlike many mattress review websites, which are owned by specific mattress companies. But yes, if you do think that our reviews are helpful and end up purchasing (and keeping) the mattress, we receive a small commission and you will not pay an extra cent on your purchase. We also often offer exclusive discount codes that we negotiate with the mattress manufacturers. So yes, for that service and value, they pay us a small commission on your purchase.
