I’ve thought about it before and while I completely agree with you DAVID and I do, it is heart breaking...maybe we are all getting older and it’s just moving on? I’ve played football games since Italia 90 and maybe they are just making games for shorter attention spans now? Think they want younger kids not learning the game, just pick it up play a few games and not getting battered, so they then come back and spend money on it. Do games get worse or do we just get older and nostalgia kicks in when we don’t like something? All that said I think I’ve had about 22 or 23 FIFA’s and I’m not getting Fifa 22 this year, my lad might get it...but I’m fucking it off for good.
FIFA 17 wasn't even a good game. It's just infinitely better than the crap we have to put up with nowadays. There is absolutely no skill gap in 21. Apart from the mechanics abuse like bridges, directional nutmegs, fake shot stop croquetta and the croquetta cancel, shot cancel etc. Plus 5 at the back, dropback, throughball, constant pressure nonsense. It all takes no skill to me. But It's all the more effective.

Skill moves should be in a fifa street or whoever the fuck plays volta. Realistically, almost no skill move above a 3 star is used or even functional in real life. Keep ball rolls, roulettes, step overs, maybe even a rainbow from time to time but that’s it. Put everything else in the bin.

No one talking about defending. There is no skill gap in defense. All the players sit back and hold contain or hit B and that's it. It doesn't matter you dribble. You can past dribble 2 players, but you cannot dribble the whole squad at the box. While you are using your skills to score a goal your opponents just uses the buttons to defend.
Guys, I’ve played every FIFA since 2006 World Cup, and unfortunately I have to say FIFA 21 is my last FIFA game. Thank you for the great memories, but it has gone so downhill that I honestly don’t see it improving. TBH the only reason I even got FIFA 21 was because they finally included my favourite icon Puskas in the game, I’ve got and used all 4 versions of him, but honestly that was the only joy I had in this years game. It really saddens me that it’s come to this point of not wanting to and not going to buy anymore FIFA games, but why would I when they have completely fucked it up. Not even just the gameplay but the packs are so expensive now and the pack weight is so fucked you literally need to spend a fuck load of money to be able to get a really good team especially if you don’t have the time to sit down and play for hours on end every day. A lot of us like myself who grew up playing FIFA are now in their late 20’s to mid 30’s and don’t have time to play 5 hours a day or on weekends like we used to.... and I never ever thought I’d say this as I was always a FIFA fan but, I hope to GOD that this new PES 2022 on the new engine that they worked on for 2 years will be 50 times better then FIFA 22 will be because we all know for a fact that FIFA will do the same shit they have been doing, nothing will change them and hopefully PES brings to the table a realistic good quality football game that we all want and deserve. I have played every fifa since 98. fifa 14 and 15 and 17 were the best. why? because they were fun and that what the game should be, not slow boring possession hogs who keep passing the ball thinking they are pep Guardiola jeez its a game. If I want sth realistic I would play football IRL or watch football while fifa is a video game should be fun not patience and stress delivers. I´ve bought every Fifa since 2008 and the game has gone from a fun casual game where you can play as your favorite players and teams to a complete sweatfest where you have to pay in order to play with your favorite players, ultimate team (as much as I loved it in previous fifa´s) was one of the biggest contributing factors to this games downfall, it proved to EA that people don't really care about gameplay anymore, it proved people would pay double the amount for the chance to play with a specific player , EA and fifa will not change because at the end of the day they probably have made more money on these past fifa titles alone than they did from all the older games combined. Its sad seeing the transition from fifa 12 to fifa 20, I used to be hype trying to get Hernandez from Manchester United, now I don't feel a damn thing unless I get an icon.

Nowadays i can still manage to be an average Elite 2 player fighting for Elite 1 in Fut Champs so im surely not a bad player. I never abused anything troughout the years. I also never been a skiller, just the most basic stuff, i always just outsmarted my opponents. I have never had a problem with using 4* skillers but especially this year, even if you dont do the crazy 5* SM, its still way to important to have 5* skillers because how terrible they made basic dribbling. As ive said in my original comment, you basically have to use skill moves this year to break through defenses because of a few reasons: - Offensive AI, unless you counter, is dumb - Dribbling is way worse then it used to be - The speed of the game is slow, especially if the servers arent good .. and we all know EA servers Other problems: - Offensive AI as ive said is dumb unless you counter yet defensive AI is the best its ever been this year with all the AI blocks / tackles .. BUT if you get countered defensive AI is retarded, barely tracking back - Passes are the worst they have ever been especially short passes are so inconsistent .. yet through balls are way too good often times "glitching" through your players .. - .. same as players while doing skill moves or the "bridge move" See a pattern? Everything should be the other way around. All those things used to be balanced once yet they screw some things up every year, this year being the worst of them all. Playing well and logical has never been less rewarded then in F21. And why? To give the bad / worse players more highlights vs good / better players, simple as that. EA knows their community, EA knows that its difficult for newer players to compete, EA knows that people dont really wanna learn, atleast 90% of the Fifa community cant play good Fifa. I always say: Even tho the game can be annoying for everyone the ONLY players that get actually punished by all this are the better players because they lose games they should never lose, for the bad players tho it always evens out .. thats what most of these players dont understand when they cluelessly rage about how many wins they would deserve more .. no they dont.

I got so frustrated with Fifa earlier because: 1. I couldn't dribble using the left stick at all. 2. Whenever I try to turn around I got the ball taken away from me unless I do that monstrosity (directional nutmeg) during the animation 3. The midfield doesn't matter at all, all you have to do is get the ball to the box and do a Tekken-like combo then shoot 4. You can't press at all, if the opponent scores a goal first then decides to spend the rest of the game passing the ball in his backline you're fucked 5. EVERYONE HAS THE SAME EXACT PLAYERS, AND NO ONE USES CBs ANYMORE THE ENTIRE DEFENSIVE LINE ARE FULLBACKS
@@youngwazi I'm bad at Fifa because my football knowledge doesn't allow me to prioritize skill moves over dribbling, use Fullbacks as CBs, not being able to press the opponent properly, do nothing but pressing Y the whole game looking for that glitchy through ball to happen. The game became a through-ball/futsal simulation at this point and I'm bad at using that to my advantage.

Very good video. I've also thought about this problem a lot and came to a similar conclusion. Maybe you could also mention the promo content from 17/18 that hit the sweet spot in my opinion. Fast, offensive play also allows us to make up for bs goals better. Especially in 20 you already lost when you conceded to ben yedder rebound goals. Additionally in 18 you could use more players, as nowadays you need five star wf (fifa 20) or five star skills (21) to keep up. Hope to see more fifa again in the future. :)

Passing and shooting analysis is so right. Pro clubs was ruined the moment they nerfed any shot from outside the box and you couldn't pass properly to make up for it.
This is such a great video. Dribbling in FIFA 17 is how it should be. Also that defenders are turning quicker than attackers is so shit. Also how Skillmoves are better to perform than normal dribbling is beyond me. Man I want a proper football game where the best one will win.
For me it was always clear and simple that FIFA (or any football game) doesn't have to be a simulator to be a good football game, it has to be a strategy and quick thinking challenge for the players that is based on the rules and format of football. Until FIFA 18 that was quite true, after that not even close.
The difference is the competitive scene has made it so much harder to actually have some of the old fifas quality's, imagine people watching a esport that's is accelerated football (like the old fifas) compared to the slow methodical fifa 20/21, I hate how slow the game is but that's what the competitive scene does to a game😔

Got me a little choked up watching my favourite players actually looking and playing like they did back in the day. Now we can't use half of them. Big changes need to happen. Really in my feels after watching the end :-(
Thats what ive been saying for the past years. The last time dribbling was fine was in F18, afterwards it became worse and worse .. and in F21 its insanely awful. You basically NEED to do / abuse skill moves which are on their own just dumb tho glitching through players. F21 is the Fifa with the lowest skillgap ever.
Istg , one through ball breaks ur whole defence even if u r on full defence , this shit sucks , thank God I was not the only one who misses dribbling from fifa 15 till 18 , in fifa 21 , everyone is just abusing through balls left and right , even if u mark em 100% no way he goes but he still breaks ur defence , I stopped playing from 20 a bit and in 21 I didnt even start the game lol

Look, im playing Fifa since 2003. Around 2009 i really started grinding online. I was always really high up on the games leaderboards. Nowadays i can still manage to be an average Elite 2 player fighting for Elite 1 in Fut Champs so im surely not a bad player. I never abused anything troughout the years. I also never been a skiller, just the most basic stuff, i always just outsmarted my opponents. I have never had a problem with using 4* skillers but especially this year, even if you dont do the crazy 5* SM, its still way to important to have 5* skillers because how terrible they made basic dribbling. As ive said in my original comment, you basically have to use skill moves this year to break through defenses because of a few reasons:
- Offensive AI, unless you counter, is dumb
- Dribbling is way worse then it used to be
- The speed of the game is slow, especially if the servers arent good .. and we all know EA servers
Other problems:
- Offensive AI as ive said is dumb unless you counter yet defensive AI is the best its ever been this year with all the AI blocks / tackles .. BUT if you get countered defensive AI is retarded, barely tracking back
- Passes are the worst they have ever been especially short passes are so inconsistent .. yet through balls are way too good often times "glitching" through your players ..
- .. same as players while doing skill moves or the "bridge move"
See a pattern? Everything should be the other way around. All those things used to be balanced once yet they screw some things up every year, this year being the worst of them all. Playing well and logical has never been less rewarded then in F21. And why? To give the bad / worse players more highlights vs good / better players, simple as that. EA knows their community, EA knows that its difficult for newer players to compete, EA knows that people dont really wanna learn, atleast 90% of the Fifa community cant play good Fifa.
I always say: Even tho the game can be annoying for everyone the ONLY players that get actually punished by all this are the better players because they lose games they should never lose, for the bad players tho it always evens out .. thats what most of these players dont understand when they cluelessly rage about how many wins they would deserve more .. no they dont.

This is all so true, but fifa will never change it back as it’s suited to give bad players a chance at winning games they should never be winning now...which in turns keeps them playing the game and opening packs

I got so frustrated with Fifa earlier because:
1. I couldn't dribble using the left stick at all.
2. Whenever I try to turn around I got the ball taken away from me unless I do that monstrosity (directional nutmeg) during the animation
3. The midfield doesn't matter at all, all you have to do is get the ball to the box and do a Tekken-like combo then shoot
4. You can't press at all, if the opponent scores a goal first then decides to spend the rest of the game passing the ball in his backline you're fucked
5. EVERYONE HAS THE SAME EXACT PLAYERS, AND NO ONE USES CBs ANYMORE THE ENTIRE DEFENSIVE LINE ARE FULLBACKS

@@youngwazi I'm bad at Fifa because my football knowledge doesn't allow me to prioritize skill moves over dribbling, use Fullbacks as CBs, not being able to press the opponent properly, do nothing but pressing Y the whole game looking for that glitchy through ball to happen. The game became a through-ball/futsal simulation at this point and I'm bad at using that to my advantage.

Also, The Pace mechanics from FIFA 15 were the best imo. I remember IF Auba with 95+ Pace how outrun the defenders without any probem. Imagine Kurts combination with the pace of FIFA 15 and without chem styles... Just imagine this :)

Very good video. I've also thought about this problem a lot and came to a similar conclusion. Maybe you could also mention the promo content from 17/18 that hit the sweet spot in my opinion. Fast, offensive play also allows us to make up for bs goals better. Especially in 20 you already lost when you conceded to ben yedder rebound goals. Additionally in 18 you could use more players, as nowadays you need five star wf (fifa 20) or five star skills (21) to keep up. Hope to see more fifa again in the future. :)

Passing and shooting analysis is so right. Pro clubs was ruined the moment they nerfed any shot from outside the box and you couldn't pass properly to make up for it.
This is such a great video. Dribbling in FIFA 17 is how it should be. Also that defenders are turning quicker than attackers is so shit. Also how Skillmoves are better to perform than normal dribbling is beyond me. Man I want a proper football game where the best one will win.
For me it was always clear and simple that FIFA (or any football game) doesn't have to be a simulator to be a good football game, it has to be a strategy and quick thinking challenge for the players that is based on the rules and format of football. Until FIFA 18 that was quite true, after that not even close.

The difference is the competitive scene has made it so much harder to actually have some of the old fifas quality's, imagine people watching a esport that's is accelerated football (like the old fifas) compared to the slow methodical fifa 20/21, I hate how slow the game is but that's what the competitive scene does to a game😔
