I've spent the last 2 weeks tearing my hair out trying to get F1 23 to look as realistic as I possibly can in our Triple 65 inch 4K Motion Rig and despite its challenges, it turned out pretty amazing!

A little tip: in the pit you have to press a button insteed of turning your wheel

Thats such a silly function, why cant it be tied to the wheel turning instead
Can bind it to turning the wheel. But only in one direction. So if it’s a left hand pit lane you still need to turn right 😂

I like the engine sound! I think they have done a great job in this area, this time! Amazing RIG as well!
Yeah this was set to the “driver” setting which simulates the muffled sound you get inside a helmet. It’s really immersive.

It always takes a lot of time to make the F1 games look realistic. Especially because you can't hide the steering wheels. Don't know how you did it, but I always solved such problems with a HUD in SimHub. Great Job
Thanks mate. I just made a template out of foam and clipped it on to the rig.

It’s literally just a piece of foam the same shape as the wheel in game to block it from view.

Love the content so much! Seems to me the au has been improved so much this year. Max is showing that astute AI. A trick I’ve seen from other racers is to stay behind at turn 2, get DRS and overtake in turn 3
It's always nice to see you having so much fun, Will! I could really feel the emotions throughout the race. By the way, would you consider reviewing yet another motion rig - Prosimu T1000 3 Motions 'SV (3DOF)? It's a new silent version and is relatively reasonably priced for 3DOF system at 5k €. I would be thankful forever, because I'm considering it but it is such a huge amount of money to spend. I would like to be sure that I will pick the right one and there is no better source of information than your channel. Peace ✌

How's the FFB feeling compared to the other sims (like AMS2 which did improve FFB in 1.5) this time around? Did it improve enough?

Graphics in F1 2023 are wild....if the gameplay is even mildly competent, seems like a real winner.

This years is very good indeed - a major improvement in handling.
The VR is unplayable though, and I feel like in 2023 that's kind of a big deal? I know it's a relatively small userbase, but if a small italian studio and a small brazilian team can do it, I don't understand why the F1 series can't make it playable. Like they had my 100 bucks for a few hours, and I took it back for this one small yet huge issue. I also thought the steering felt comically light and didn't offer much feedback, but I've never driven a real F1 car so maybe they know what we don't, heh.
VR runs fine for me, but I do have a 13900K with a 4090. Sorry to hear others are having problems still. Last year's game I couldn't get over 10FPS with a 12900k and 3090.

Codemasters nailed replay camera angles finally. Just wished they had prioritised 60fps replay mode over ray tracing, or give an option to choose one or the other.

Its more realistic to remove the Halo. Hold your hand up in front of your face and close one eye. Your hand is visible, this is what its like on a flat 2D screen. Now do the same with both eyes open and focus beyond your hand and your hand disappears, not completely, but your brain filters it out.

There's a mod in race department that lowers the pitch of engine sounds, making it more realistic. You should try it!

going to look into maybe in the future building a curve screen for sim rigs with the use of projector thats my project for the future.hmmmm i am sure i can do it i am on a mission

hey will, quick question. how did you remove the steering wheel animation all together. in the game it can be turned off and it becomes a static wheel that doesnt turn. how do you get rid of it all together. i feel like im missing something simple. thanks
i think he said in another comment here that he got some black foam and clipped it onto the screen to block the on screen wheel. hope this helps!

F1 Challenge keeps looking more realistic! Maybe try it in your rig! A sim always better than a game!
It would be pretty cool if they could have a helmet with the screen in it with the wheel and pedals. That would be amazing

No. I used a foam template and stuck it to my rig to hide the wheel.

Nice video! Do you use the motion for every race or just once in a while? I have an HF8 which is nothing alike but at one point the only thing I 'feel' is my wheelbase because I get caught up in the race. Does it help you to be faster?
Yep always running motion. I don’t think it makes me any faster but it adds to the immersion for sure.
