I'm glad that people are enjoying this content and I hope some of the things I've been working on behind the scenes will have the same effect
She has two good points here:
1) As a fellow Puerto Rican, I've been able to retain my ability to speak Spanish because of having to speak it at home.
2) Yeah, American portions are huge, but that's why they have takeout boxes to bring the leftovers home. Especially if the food you ordered is some kind of chicken.
To also add onto this, there's also realizing that there's that much food. Even an 'Murican showing up to eat a Chicago deep dish wouldn't order 4 pies for 9 people.
As english speaking viewer who just stumbled upon your videos I can't help but say that their is a certain charm in seeing your mom react to internet clips like this and offering her own commentary!

About speaking one language at home and learning English at school; yeah, that's how you do it. I knew a girl who's mom was French and who's dad was German. At home the mom ONLY spoke French and the dad ONLY spoke German, so she had to speak French to her mom, German to her dad, and English at school. I once asked her what language she thought in and she gave me a look like she had no idea what I was talking about. She thought about it for a bit and then replied that it depended on who she talked to last.
I fucking love how she is mostly agreeing with Connor's view of things but just is like "wtf" about the hair.

Your mom hit a nail on a head. This is exactly why I hate tournaments and competitive junk. This people who just want to win win win and make the game miserable for everybody else. No matter if it's coach or player.

I totally agree with your mom about portion sizes. If it's too much just take it home with you! Granted, there are some food doesn't reheat well but many taste great reheated.

I actually had a similar situation with my first chess match.
I never really played it before, maybe against a chessbot but not a real person.
My friend won the Regional Championships 2 years prior, and he wanted to play with me.
Only thing i knew was the rules, and so i played him.
He didn´t know what to do with my moves, because i didn´t have a game plan, i just made the moves that seemed the most advantageous in the situation, not knowing what my next move would be.
I think that is what screwed him up, because he was used to play against people that plan 5 moves ahead or something, but i didn´t do that and so he couldn´t read me and made mistakes.
That is actually a good tactic in any strategical matchup, make bogus moves, that force your opponent to go "wtf" and just react because they don´t know what you´re doing. And then keep forcing them to react instead of giving them an action that YOU would have to react to.

I agree with her about parents ruining sports. I've seen a ton of kids, mostly with baseball, but some in basketball, whose kids end up hating the sport because their parents are TOO involved. Quit trying to live your failed sports dream through your kids foolz.
Another thing is, while I'm familiar with connor/trash taste because of connor's association with ironmouse, I never actually listened to his podcast just because I assumed they would just be talking about anime. There is nothing wrong with talking about anime, but I've long since abandoned lengthy series of any medium for time reasons, and just assumed it wouldn't be interesting to watch a show about anime's I would never end up watching.
All in all, good shizz.

I see a lot of people here agree with the "take leftovers home" argument. But what if you don't live there? Am I supposed to take them to the hotel or the airport?
What I'm saying is just allow people to order smaller portions and/or warn them about the portion size.
Yes, you take it to your hotel and you have something to eat later that literally what you do, why do you think hotels comes with refrigerators half the time? , restaurants are too busy to have to be dealing with peoples size preferences.

As a French, can confirm that high end French restaurant are polar opposite from US in regards to portion sizes, and mid class neighborhood restaurant have decent dishes, like, you're stuffed but it's 3 to 4 times less than American dishes. Also glad that I was raised in a home where wasting food is not tolerated.

I do kinda wish I had the spanish speaking still. I somewhat got brainwashed from a school when I was much younger that there is no reason to speak spanish. Its only later in my life that I learned there was several issues that I just wasn't aware of including the "Left hand writing is the devil's work" and "You must have a disability cause you're not normal" among other things. At least one of them was fought for on my behalf since I didn't understand the undertone meanings until later on. Learning Spanish later on just sucks.

Connor's life is a manga that the public would hate. It was a chess manga, then a voice acting one, then a youtuber one, a podcast, and now it's crossing over with vtuber series'. This writer is really inconsistent.

my father always forced a season sport on me in high school i had to have one for every season and i wish i hap a break for chess
I'm only just realizing Connor's arc with chess is mine with Yu-Gi-Oh. I got pretty good at the game till I was winning almost every game especially with my brother who's been in for years.
Eventually I could just tell wether I'd win from turn one and it became a game of wether I can make my opponent fuck up. Usually though it became a problem of my decks not being competitive enough. I know how to make a competitive deck I just want to play with these funny, cute, or cool archetypes. Sometimes I can make a turnaround even with the disadvantage but against good players matches just take so long.
I will say though it is pretty satisfying seeing a hyper competitive deck and some dude not know it's full potential. Doubly so if it's one I've used and I know exactly how to screw them over.
