    I really appreciate the videos you've done on this system, they've been quite helpful!
    I ended up installing an ABKONCORE CT407W that I had laying around. It's listed as a 135mm tall cooler and I got it to fit with the panel on, so it seems like the height limit in this case is about 135mm for anybody out there wondering.

      Just to give u a heads up your stuck with that psu. It's hp so you have to get the psu hp offers. They have a 400 watt and a 500 watt all on back order for months and it's 170. You can upgrade CPU but go to hp look for erica Mobo and see the cpu upgrades. They only have a few you can do with a tdp of 65w and the bios can recognize. I know ryzen 7 3700x works but idk about 4th Gen even at 65tdp because bios may not recognize figured I'd give u the heads up before u bought parts that don't work. Pretty much when ur ready to upgrade buy a case a mobo and psu and transfer over. Cause you'll hit a upgrade wall on the hp as I did mine looks like a sleeper on steroids

    I had the same thing happen with the 3500 to 3600 change. I bought a floor model at walmart for 400, it booted up and bios said it was a 3500, same thing with task manager. It over heated and reset while i was away. It's registered as 3600 ever since. I believe they were bulk bought binned cpu that were locked out 3600. Over heating caused the on chip micro code to reset. I bet if they detect on core having faulty dual thread performance they just lock out dual thread for all cores and sell them in bulk to hp.

    1. How bright are those RGB LEDs on the upgraded CPU cooler fan? With the side panel on, can you see them/are they bright? Not really looking for bright lights shining through.
    2. Did the box/instructions for the CPU cooler have "M400" anywhere? Trying to find out what the model number the cooler is.

    I just picked one of these up. I don't quite understand how you had wired in the case fan, do you have a 4-pin splitter so the CPU fan header powers both the CPU cooler and the intake fan? Do you know if I change the exhaust fan if there will be any errors if the new exhaust fan runs at a different frequency? (does that exhaust fan just run at 100%?)

    • @HardwareSense
      @HardwareSense  Před rokem +2

      The stock fan is not PWM so it can be changed, but there is no point doing it, I tested with Noctua fans and there is no difference. As for the intake, you need Sata to Fan adapter and PWM controller, if you don't want to fan to run at 100%

What is the easiest way to power this fan with out adding the complication on a fan controler? Is there some where on the mother board I can plug this in, or would it just run in high at all the time and been too noisy? This case needs some additional air movement

    • @HardwareSense
      @HardwareSense  Před 2 lety

      That is correct, without the controller or anything to lower the RPMs, the fan will run full speed and noise. You can use a simple fan speed reduction cables, like the ones Noctua are normally selling with their fans and use that to cut the noise.

    Hello,
    I have a couple questions regarding Case Cooling Fans and installing them.
    the tg01-0023w only has a System Fan Header and a CPU Fan Header and nothing else on the MB.
    How do splitters work ?
    I added a 3 way at the CPU header but when I added a fan on it, the System booted to an error CPU Fan 90B (fAn not working properly) /
    I had to remove the splitter and did not install any extra fans
    Just the CPU Fan and Cooler and the Exhaust Case Fan.
    I would like to add more but not sure how to do it.
    Any thoughts on this or help greatly appreciated.

      I also have an intel i7. I simply removed the clips from the transparent plastic holders and put them into the black ring.
      then you need M3 20mm screws + washers.
      with this you screw the black ring onto the original bracket. you don't have to remove the mainboard.
