  • Poimo stands for portable and inflatable mobility. It's an inflatable scooter made by Mercari R4D, Takram, and students at the University of Tokyo. At the time of the video, poimo is not available to the public.

From the look of it, the whole thing, pump and wheels and all, would fit in a larger backpack. Since it's not yet for sale, I guess they're still figuring it out.
In my opinion, they should just build in straps somehow so you can pack it away and carry it like a backpack rather than make it fit in a backpack. They should also keep working to minimize assembly.

Yeah, it's still brilliant for holiday travel. Have it in your hotel room when you travel abroad, easy to pack away when you want to explore the area. The possibilities outweigh the few minor points you made.

But where did the wheels come from?

@@tenzing2090 I reckon they could fit in the bag as well. You can fit a skateboard in a backpack, and inflatables like that can fold up really small. You'd likely need to assemble them somehow, but I'd imagine you can attach them while waiting for the body to inflate.
I'm not sure, but I just really like the idea.
Gotta beat the Segway anyhow lol

With a whopping top speed of 6kmh or 3.7mph you are sure to reach your destination on time if you dont run out of power first.

Honesly you guys can improvise just because of those problems doesn't mean it isn't a bad invention. Were humans we know how to think smart. Probably get something from amazon for the foot rest. Also you can get a bigger backpack to carry the extra stuff. These are very simple things you can do without making a big deal about this

Did anyone tell you how annoying the text transitions you made are? The text that comes from the left side ends up being on the right, and vice versa... And to top it of if you start reading it while it is coming, it becomes jumbled mess in the middle because two parts of the text meet in the middle into incoherent mess before settling. Very uncomfortable to watch.

because the hand pump is so easy to use and it also spawns wheels?
