Backer here - Highly recommend it. You wont regret it. I've had lots of fun with it. Story's good, the levels are fun, gameplay is as great as ever, cant overlook that sweet soundtrack, no regrets.

Finished my play-through of the game a week ago and loved every minute of it! Great job WAYFORWARD! Hope this outing is the game that breaks Shantae out into the mainstream! Would love to have a sequel to this game expanding on whats already here for gamers!
Bought it the minute it became available on Steam. I've been a fan of the series since last year when I played Risky's Revenge and Pirate's Curse and I've been forever wating for this one (would've backed it on Kickstarter instantly had this happened in 2013). Anyway the game is here now, I've been playing for about an hour, taking my time, interacting with everything and listening to that GODLY Virt soundtrack. Excellent work WayForward!

Backed this game, got my code last week, and I've beaten it 4 times already and did a full game playthrough on my youtube channel. The WayForward crew did NOT disappoint the fans with this! This game is freaking awesome!!!! Here's hoping for a 5th Shantae game and possibly for them to make another Disney Remastered game(Darkwing Duck or Chip 'n' Dale please!!)

So excited that this finally came out! I'm doing a let's play of it as a blind first playthrough! Having a great time with the game so far and am ready to play more, lol!
Bought a physical copy of the PS4 version. Always was interested in the series but never got around to playing a game in it until now. Even after just a few hours I can see why people like it and why the fans went to the trouble of getting this funded. Thanks to everybody involved in getting this made.
Couldn't put down the controller and go to sleep until I beat it! Well worth the wait; absolutely loved it! Wayforward (among others) are shining examples of the potential that indie companies have in making games that are as good as/ better than many triple-A titles.
Thanks to Wayforward and all the backers for bringing this game to life! I hope to see another Shantae game in the future! If so, hopefully it will have what this one could've had had it been funded more (ie cutscenes, full voice acting, hero modes.)

Oh what an awesome game this is. Disappointed at first because I wanted the retro graphics of previous Shantae games but I was so wrong. This is a masterpiece. I have it on Switch and just recently a purchased the Risky Beats edition on Vita just because. Can't wait for Shantae 5.
Finally I cannot wait for when I receive my copy on the Wii U.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this game, this series, and for your work in general. Your games have made me laugh, cheer and left with a satisfieng tingle in my gentle, fragile thorax. There was a time when I started thinking that perhaps games went by me and it's about money now. Money right now. All of it. It was also a very turbulant time of my life. Then I played Shantae for GBC, and your game helped bring light in a lamp in my dark time. Further down the line even more of your games came. The rest is history and then some good memories!
You are the company whose games I actively look for and await with anticipation.
All I want to rephrase is: Thank you, for all the laugh, joy, moments of true friendship and love.

The wait for the Half-Genie Hero DLC will make the wait for Bloodstained and Indivisible easier. Since both of those games probably aren't coming until 2018.
I'm still waiting to kickstart Bloodstained. We have so much time until the backing closes. :p

Coming back here after this game is confirmed for Switch.
I'm waiting to see if it's best if I LP this game blind or practiced before I crack into it. On the plus side, that might mean I have a little backer DLC by the time I'm ready to record--we shall see. It's a good thing for me my excitement is outweighed by my patience!
Also, I'm glad to see a lot of favorite upgrades from previous games returning!
the graphics really do remind me of ducktales remastered, 2d characters and enemies, 3d enviroment and items, though that boss arena in the desert theme however throws a wrench into the feel

the one thing I dislike about Shantae half-genie Hero is the fact that they didn't release it on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 like it said on the original Kickstarter page and changed only to next gen consoles still a good game though.

I just discovered the series and automatically dled the 3 games it had on the 3ds. I just finished playing risky's revenge and I loved it and will be playing Pirate's curse and GBC Shantae soon. I'm happy the franchise is growing fast and healthy but i do hope the company doesn't forget about how the series grew up on handhelds, I hope the next shantae game will be released on the 3ds as well as the new3ds is all I have now. It would be nice to have HGH be made for the 3ds as well. (I really hope)
