I've tried all of those and all were good but none really knocked my socks off. Right NOW, I'm drinking Jack Daniels single barrel barrel proof and it is blowing my mind! It's like drinking the crust off of a creme brulee...so sweet its almost CRUNCHY sweet! Nearest thing I've had to Handy sazerac, for caramelly sweetness (but readily available at a fraction of the price!)
Best single barrel I’ve tasted is a tier 6 high proof four roses OESV from 21C Hotel in Louisville . The best SiB I own are a couple four roses barrel strength (oesv and oesk) , RR SiB from CNF and a Knob Creek 11 year pick
Good Alberta Premium single barrel picks from any variety of independent bottlers are amazing! Tippin's has some 12 year Mammoth picks with unique finishes that are superb, for a bargain compared to a Barrell rye or 10 year Whistlepig pick.
Hey Chris. CZcams is not letting me comment on your post the other day about having text write ups with your videos. If you want to save some time and have an iPhone, iPad, or a Mac you can dictate into any app that creates word documents. Notes app, Microsoft word, pages, etc. you are a pretty fluid speaker so you just click on the little microphone on iOS or double tap the space bar on the Mac and just talk away. It works great! I use it when texting my kids at night when I’m too lazy to type. Pretty easy to edit after or along the way. Good luck and I look forward to your future reviews. I’m not familiar with other operating systems but guessing they have something similar.

While I'm relatively new to the bourbon scene...was primarily a scotch man before, I have really enjoyed my McKenna BIB 10yr and now the bottle is getting low. Unfortunately, this is hard to find and $50 here in Colorado! My guess is that 100 proof is a little too low for your palate and won't win this single barrel battle. (However, It wins over the other 8 bourbons on my small shelf) For me, 100 proof is just more approachable than let's say my WT Rare Breed 116.8 proof. I have never tasted the KC-SBR 120 proof, but enjoy the 100 proof small batch Knob Creek on my shelf and think that its affordable price and consistency make it a good value for you 100 proofers.
Absolutley couldnt agree more on all accounts. Nothing wrong with scotch at all, I am still expanding my scotch repertoire! Keep trying those new bourbons!
Chris, no surprise with the winner. My bottle of RY SiB 10 is one of best wheaters I've had (but they don't mention on bottle or box that it is a wheater?!) but can understand the HMcK BiB coming in second. Cheers and stay safe. 😷🥃👍

Results start at 12:40 - Good results on the McKenna, I still have three unopened bottles, three different barrels, that I bought for $28 each before they became scarce. Stop by next time you're in Houston, we'll open one of them.
