I used ARP thread lubricant for everything.

@@IGDesigns so same as for the head bolts , I just thought you were using just regular oil because it was from a regular oil canister that you were squirting , thanks for the quick response 👍

Oops you’re right, it was regular oil for these bolts now that I watch it. It’s been a while so I misremembered. Either way the difference between the two isn’t that big, just make sure to use some form of lubricant in the proper spots

Do Not torque the main bolts to full spec for plastigauge. Most main bolts are only really good for one torque to full spec, therefore go to maybe ~80% without the additional degrees which actually stretch the bolts. Really honestly maybe 50% would be plenty if you're really sure everything is clean and the bearing shells are well seated and the ends are flush.

ARP head studs are not torque to yield and are ok to reuse after being torqued. This is directly from their website "As long as the fasteners have been installed and torqued correctly, and show no visible signs of damage, they can be re-used. "

@@IGDesigns I thought this video used OE bolts.

@@IGDesigns Also Studs are okay because you only torque them into the block once, then you torque and remove the Nuts. This is steel on steel however torquing OE bolts into the Aluminum block threads repeatedly could weaken or damage the Aluminum threads cut in the block. This is literally why studs stud.

Where are you getting all of your specs from? I am tearing down a k24a8 and I can’t seem to find any of the removal sequences anywhere and I’m sure it will be the same way when I put it back together. Hoping you can point me in the right direction!

Look for service manuals online, that’s where I got my specs
