भारत की पहली आधुनिक महिला चित्रकार जिन्होंने अनेकों जीवंत और प्रासंगिक पेटिंग निर्मित किया। आजादी के पूर्व भारत की आत्मा को एक तरीके से रुप प्रदान करने का कार्य किया अमृता जी ने। मुझे हमेशा ही यही लगता रहा कि इस महान चित्रकार पर एक फ़िल्म बनती और अमृता की भूमिका निभातीं बालीवुड की कुशल और प्रसिद्ध अभिनेत्री रेखा।
मतलब मोहतरमा पुरुषों से नफरत करती थीं क्योंकि एक मर्द उन्हें बेवफा मिला मगर फिर भीं खुद बहुत बड़ी इश्कबाज थीं। अच्छा है।

बचपन में स्कूल text book में अमृता शेरगिल के बारे में पढ़ा था
उनके जल्दी जाने का उस समय बहुत अफसोस था।
ब्रह्मचारी के अलावा कुछ दो तीन पेंटिंग ही है जो प्रभावित करती है। असलियत में उनको ख्याति तो उनके बड़े ओहदे वाले प्रेमियों ने ही दिलवाई थी। जिसमें हमारे दो बड़े अय्याश चाचा नेहरू और खुशवंत सिंह भी शामिल थे।
एक महान चित्रकार पर उल्लेखनीय प्रस्तुति। ऐसे महान विभूतियों पर चर्चा से नवोदित चित्रकारों और कलाप्रेमियों को विलक्षण प्रतिभाओं से रुबरु होने का अवसर मिलता है।
