    Hey guys!! Today I wanted to chat with you about my Jessner Chemical Peel! I showed you guys before and after pics of the Jessner peel and how my face healed. I got this treatment because I have been trying to minimize the scarring that my acne has left over the years. I have had acne scarring for many years and have always struggled with how to get rid of acne. Some damage was done by sun damage, but some was from acne in my teenage years. Chemical peels are very effective in turning over your skin cells and helping heal damaged skin.
    While the chemical peel was happening, it was only slightly uncomfortable. During the procedure, I was also a little light headed. My skin was red and tight for a few days and I felt swollen and just not so great! However, after a few more days, my skin peeled off and I went back for another facial to help calm my skin.
    The results were in my opinion good! My pores appeared smaller and my skin was smoother! I want to do this chemical face peel again, but a may wait a few months. Thank you guys for watching and if you have questions, leave them in the comments!

    Hey Nikki! I'm an esthetician and I thought you should know about a new treatment for indents in the skin. There is a new filler that stimulates collagen and over time would permanently fill in the marks. You should talk to your derm about it

    Vitamine E and Rosehip oil works WONDERS! I also had really bad pit scarring on my cheeks from acne. I would mix the rosehip oil mixed with the sticky vitamin E gel and after less than a year my skin looked amazing! My hyperpigmentation was gone and the small indents in my face were definitely not as noticeably. Because I have super sensitive skin my dermatologist doesn't want me getting chemical peels so that routine was my alternative.

      @Carla-de2sz Před 7 lety

      sophie thibert I would use vitamin E oil only at night cause the only I had was sticky, but I would use the rose hip oil morning and night. I would use it as a serum, after moisturizing. I would PRESS the vitamin E on the places I needed it and apply the rose oil everywhere and especially where the E was cause it was sticky. TRY NOT TO TOUCH YOUR FACE. It takes a while to soak in

    I did the Jessner peel at home. I ordered it thru "the skin peel shop" I loved doing it at home and I was surprised that the lady you went to didn't first apply it the same way that I was directed to by the instructions. Mine came with a first step primer, then day 2 the peel, then 3 days the last step (neutralizer I guess) My results were amazing. So if anyone out there wants to do it go online bc it's way cheaper and easy also. The end result was amazing! OH and FYI the white layer around your mouth etc is called "frost" and it shows the peel is working right. If there isn't frost the peel isn't working right

    I think you meant to say dermaplaning when they razor your face. I'm pretty sure microblading is the tattooing of eyebrows that fades over time.

  • @src3360
    @src3360 Před 7 lety +28

    I've been peeling people for almost 8 years and never has anyone become light headed. Not before, during, after or days later lol Strange how common it is 💁🏻 And I wouldn't recommend using aquaphor. It causes white heads, expecially if your acne prone. A medium to heavy moisturizer is sufficient. Also using an HA serum first then moisturizing helps tremendously.
    Also, with jesters you can get a peel every 3-4 weeks depending on how many layers/desired outcome/etc. I noticed a difference in your skin, get a series of them and you'll see really good improvements!!

    • @devon.pfeifer
      @devon.pfeifer Před 7 lety +9

      No, there are different degrees of peels. A good majority of peels cannot be left on the skin. They need to be neutralized, usually by a solution of sodium bicarbonate and water. A jessner's peel is a more aggressive peel, and is usually what causes this type of reaction. Superficial peels are quite different, as far as what you look like during the healing process.

    Omg i just came by your vlog of you getting a chemical peel on your CZcams account. I am now an official subscriber for the first time and you are my very first. You are such an inspiration.
    I have also lived with problem sensitive skin stemming from dermatitis. Im constantly on antibiotics to keep my acne at ease but it still never stops, and the scarring is the worst.
    I'm so ashamed of all the red spots and holes left in my face and now watching some of your videos have given me hope to one day have beautiful skin.
    Im only from a casual small town in New Zealand and i can't imagine what the cost of getting one of these chemical peels will cost but it is now my mission to get one. After Christmas is done, I'll be ringing around to get different prices and see who is the cheapest and start my saving. Though it may take me months to save, as I'm on a tight bugdet will be putting $2 away a week to get what i think will finally help me refresh my skin, my self-esteem and my soul. Thank you for being such a beautiful inspiration and i very much look forward to watching so many more of your videos :) xx

    It would've been more comfortable if you're aesthetician gave you a post care kit. Just for the peeling and itching. Usually you would use 5-7 days until your skin is healed. I highly recommend chemical peel for any skin concerns. It can drastically change your skin texture. And btw you're skin looks amazing!

    When you get a peel, after that is the perfect time to start with a good skincare routine. I highly recommend asian skincare products because those are the best. Asian skincare products are a lot less abrasive than western brand skincare products which is perfect for when you've just had a peel since the skin is in the process of healing.

    At 11:40 you said you were getting Microblading done and that’s a brow tattoo treatment. I believe you were talking about dermaplaning where they remove dead skin with a scalpel type tool and it also helps removes vellus hairs on your face.

    What are the long term effects of burning your skin off with chemicals? You'd think it would at the very least make you wrinkle faster if not lead to cancer. That's why we moisturize and wear spf right? To avoid burning and drying out to avoid aging and cancer....

    • @NikkiPhillippi
      @NikkiPhillippi  Před 8 lety

      +heykelly yea I've thought of that and wondered--- but I think it's different...? I've asked my Esthetician but I'm still a little unclear of the answer... I'll ask again:)

    • @glowyaf
      @glowyaf Před 8 lety

      idk about cancer ( because that would obviously depend on the peel and the persons predisposed risk for cancer although im sure fda approved peels are fine), but i'm a licensed esthetician and peels are actually great for anti aging! they prevent wrinkles. You obviously need to avoid sun and wind exposure when using peels and as a general rule always have a skincare routine, but other than that you should be fine.

    • @kellyarmstrongmoo

      A lot of the "chemicals" in chemical peels are naturally occurring acids. The term chemical peel comes the process of creating a chemical reaction in the skin that manipulates your body's natural cycle of growing and shedding skin cells, a process that slows greatly with age.
      Not all chemicals are bad, water is a chemical. Chemical peels do not cause cancer🙄
