You found and replaced a shorted capacitor.
    The short is now gone.
The 12V does not come on whether the involved components are in or out.
Then you have to move to another place on the pcb looking for the problem.
Disrupted pcb track or protection series resistor.
In this case you have donor cards you can use for comparison - makes your odds high.
Tx very much for your efforts in making these videos, highly appreciated 😊

Hello @NorthridgeFix Alex, from what i've seen i think you have a partially shorted component since its measuring 0.200V , since you have on the chip 3.3V Enable shouldn't be a digital problem, and having 5V vcc, you could supply with your power supply on that big CAP that you changed the 12V that you need on that output and the bad component should get HOT, also max current 1A on power supply to be safe. Good luck and i hope you'll be able to fix it , can't wait for the next video.

  • @Dmiliunas

Alex on the back side, Look for a IC 505 it is 40 leg ic. nier that ic u should find two 0 ohm rezistors/fuses Check if they are ok. 12v_F and (12v_pex_misc have two caps on the way 0.1uF and 22uF) should have direct path to Pin nr 2
If u have no 12v then fuses blown.
Fuses marked r1007 and r987 12v_F is goes pass R987 0 ohm rezistor/fuse. I have documents that i cant share. Due to ............. some ones knocking on my door, i think nvidia guys with black glasses.. GTG :D

If you have 12v on the card input I would assume that the 12v are not being shorted. If 12v arent reaching the chip then I'd look for an open coil, fuse or resistor along the path of the input and the the 5v chip.

On your spare parts board if you measure between the cap and the 12v line is it a straight continuous line or is it fused maybe or a small component taken out as though it was a fuse.
I would be interested to find out if it was the same reading on both boards….
It maybe it took out a via where the track goes through the board…..
But keep up the great work every problem is an opportunity to lear more

Check the gs7133 or gs7103 it is a regulator from 12v to 5v it must be on the part behind the card near the 12v pci, This supplies 5v in low consumption mode to both the card and an hdmi port, check if the chip of the hdmi1 port has 5v.

The problem is that 12V in is missing, nothing to do with the chip. Probably a (low ohm) resistor on the board, find the point (beep) on the board where 12V is feeding the 5V regulator.

No 12v input is going in, the shorted cap caused a fuse to go open somewhere, gonna have to find that fuse, probably near 12v rails from power connector or the pcie slot. Also a riser cable would help alot in your gpu repairs.
