hey everybody its Nosaj Makelele was not selected in 1998 although his first National team appearance was 1996 when he won the French league 1 with Nantes FC. Anelka was left also in the 98 World Cup. He was later recalled in 2004-2007 to the squad.

I am Spanish but I do have a lot of love for France and French culture since I've been there a lot of times, and I don't know what does this team have that makes me love it so much. Maybe the fact that they made defensive football look beautiful.

This team was my childhood. Thanks for the memories. I grew up watching Mexico, and Brazil play but after France 98, France won my heart over. I remember transitioning to Jr high and hs and you guys were still the best with zidane and trezeguet. You guys won about four cups in a row almost. The wc , euro and two confederation cups. I miss the old France man. Thanks for the memories.

The Griezmann dive ahead of the first goal, not sportsmanlike. VAR must intervene. He didn´t.
Penalty situation: VAR was not allowed to intervene because it was no clear penalty situation. All referees said that you can´t give such a penalty in a World Cup final.
It is very sad because this highly talented French Team didn´t play as magnificent as we thought and in the end, they needed the Referee to decide the game for them. I don´t say the referee did it on purpose - but he was the reason France won.

That was my first time I was eight, i watched 1998 fifa world cup. that world cup was awesome, it thrilled my spines, after that i became the Huge fan of France Squad.
Then after 2 years they won the 2000 euros.

Between 1998 and 2003 we won everything. After, in WC 2002 and Euro 2004, there is a moment we weren't good enough. In 2006 it was different. It was all about the team at that moment.

Remember after the failure of 2002 France bounced back and won the 2003 confederation cup and they would go on a 20 win winning streak. Rodriguez I recently watched the match highlights as I hadn't seen the match before, and Blanc's red card actually looked like a red card, maybe not a proper punch but he did raise his hand. Wasn't that bad in the end since you won both that match and the final, so there was no feelings of 'what if'.

If we Italians managed to beat you in the quarter finals (we almost did it when Baggio almost scored a gol) we would have certainly defeated Croatia and in the final we would have won against Brazil, expecially since Ronaldo wasn't in good condition for the final and the Brazil team was built on him. Help me find this episode. France was attacking and one of the Fr3nch players runs towards right flank to prevent ball crossing into out. He kept it but himself due to inertia was getting out of the field. That's when he extended his arm and pushed against the linesman's chest ultimaty getting to control the ball. Until now I thoughtit was Anelka but i cannot find auch a moment with him anywhers. If any French fans can remember the moment please share it with me. Thankw a lot..

Tbh, you cannot blame the players for losing it during the tournament. They had a really incompetent manager for a long time and finally decided that they had it enough. Sure, they could have dealt with the situation better, but I bet anyone put in their position would have felt the same.
